B.Tech. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering - Batch of 2026

Consider these points before joining VJTI.
Placements: At the beginning of the season, 85% of the students were placed. By the end of the season, 95% of the students had been placed. The highest package offered was 25 lakhs by Texas Instruments. Texas Instruments also offered a package of 29 lakhs. The top recruiting companies for EXTC core were Texas Instruments, and for CS background it was Google. This year only two students got the highest package of 29 lakhs, while last year 15 to 20 students received that package. The roles offered for software were software developer and data science analytics, while for core they were field application engineer and sales executive.
Infrastructure: For our batch, the coursework was not as relevant as it is now. After the application of NEP policy, it doesn't make much of a difference. The infrastructure is not that good. For hostel facilities, we have a mess and three blocks of boys' hostels, one of which is new and two are old. We continuously face issues such as water shortages, cleanliness problems, and unhygienic food.
Faculty: The course is relevant, but the faculty is lacking. The students are not industry ready, and the semester exams are not difficult because the questions come from the PPTs that the teachers provide.

Best college for CS, IT, Mechanical, production branches.
Placements: Placement statistics for Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute are very good, especially for students in the CS and IT programs. About 90% of students are placed, with an average salary of 11.17 lakh per annum. The highest salary offered was 29 lakh per annum, and the lowest was 6 lakh per annum. Some of the companies that recruit from the institute are Texas Instrument, Siemens, and Schneider Electric. About 60% of students get internships, with some going on to work for the same companies that they interned for. Some of the internships are for technical sales associate and field application engineer positions.
Infrastructure: The ENTC program is part of the Electrical Department at VJTI. The classes are good, but not all have air conditioning. Wi-Fi is available in every classroom, but the labs don't have good internet connectivity. The hostels are not that great, but the cost of living is cheap, at around 20,000 to 45,000 rupees per year. Not all students get hostel accommodations; it is based on CET merit. The food quality is good, and the yearly tuition fee is 44,000 rupees.
Faculty: Some of the teachers are qualified, but not all. The teaching is not that good, and students have lots of doubts that are not cleared in a timely manner. The labs are not properly equipped. The course curriculum is very slow, and irrelevant courses are taught first. By the time the relevant courses are taught, there is no time left. No student is industry ready by the course curriculum, so they have to take online courses on the side. The papers are easy, but sometimes they are out of this world. You need a 34 to pass.
Other: I got this course on merit base. It is one of the best courses, but in VJTI it is not taught at that level. More practical-oriented topics should be taught, and teachers should be enthusiastic about teaching the course.

Do not take admission in this college.
Placements: About 70% of students were placed, and the placement percentage depended on the branch of study. The lowest salary package was 6 LPA, the highest was 36 LPA, and the average was 15 LPA. Only 4 or 5 companies recruited for my course, and most students were placed in software-based companies like Texas Instruments. Technical roles were offered mostly for B.Tech courses, but sometimes management roles were available.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for the course/department, such as Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and the library, are very poor. The quality of the facilities in the hostel, the quality of the food available in the mess and canteen, the medical facilities, and the sports and games are all very poor.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, but most of them had poor knowledge of the subject matter. The syllabus was outdated, but the students were industry-ready due to their own hard work and persistence. The placement rate was good, but the papers for some subjects were very difficult and application-based. Only two or three subjects had faculty with PhD degrees; the others were not qualified. The pass percentage was 40%.

VJTI is the best choice for state level colleges in Maharashtra.
Placements: The placement percentage for all branches at VJTI is above 85% at the initial stage. The remaining students get placed as time passes. The highest salary package was over 50 lakhs per annum, and the lowest was around 6 to 7 lakhs per annum. More than 400 internships were made in 2024. Companies that recruited from VJTI include SD Data Analyst, DSA, and others. Top companies like Google, Microsoft, and Accenture hire interns and graduates from VJTI.
Infrastructure: The college was built in the 1800s, and most of the classrooms are being renovated. They have Wi-Fi, and the library has lots of books and a large sitting area. The hostel facilities are below average, with some cleanliness and water issues. There are three boys' hostels and three girls' hostels, with a total of six blocks. The college canteen provides affordable food, and there are sports facilities such as football, cricket, and basketball grounds, as well as indoor games.
Faculty: The teachers at VJTI are helpful and qualified, and most have long teaching experience. However, some contractual faculty are not as good as the full-time faculty. The old syllabus was outdated, but the new course work is more relevant and focuses on practical knowledge. The exams are hard for a very small percentage of students, but if a student fails a course, they can retake the exam once a year.
Other: Our college provided guidance on scholarships offered by the government, private companies, and college alumni. The college had a lot of events and clubs for both freshers and seniors. The two cultural committees and the technology club were also very active. The student body managed these clubs and committees. The college is located in a very peaceful setting, and there are many extracurricular clubs and activities for students to participate in.

Good for placements; I really recommend it for placement.
Placements: Percentage of placement is around 80 to 87. The average package for Electronics is 8 to 10 LPA. To get placed easily, students must maintain a record of 7.5 and above. As Electronics is a core branch, students have many options to shift to particular courses, unlike Data Science and other courses.
Infrastructure: Food available in the canteen is good. The availability of hostels is limited, meaning not everyone can get a hostel. Hostel allotment is done on a merit basis, and candidates from outside Mumbai University are given preference. There are various communities in the college, so first-year students must explore them.
Faculty: The first semester is a little difficult, so studying diligently for it is essential; the rest of the semesters are easier. There is also a re-exam for students who fail a subject, so they don't get a KT in the first semester. Many co-curricular subjects hold marks, so don’t bunk them.
