To get a seat in the National Institute of Technology Warangal undergraduate, postgraduate and PG Dipolma courses, candidates must visit the official website of respective national-level entrance exam conducting bodies to register themselves. Eligible candidates are then required to appear for the entrance test, followed by another selection process. Apart from these, to get a seat in NIT Warangal students are also required to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria of the course.
NIT Warangal admission 2025 is entrance-based. National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal offers a list of courses at the UG, PG and PG Diploma levels. BTech is the flagship programme of the institute. Admission to NIT Warangal BTech course is through JEE Main. Eligible students can apply by visiting the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA). Other national-level examinations accepted by the institute are CAT, MAT, GATE, IIT JAM, and NIMCET.

The cutoff changes depending on rounds, specialisations, and categories. If you qualify under the General AI quota, the maximum required JEE Main cutoff rank for B.Tech admission was 60255 in 2025.Those who have a lower cutoff than the one specified can get a seat in NIT Warangal BTech. For CSE, ECE, etc., the cutoff ranks tend to be lower showing high competition for admission in the engineering aspirants.
To apply for the NIT Warangal MTech course, candidates must apply for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering also known as GATE. NIT Warangal admits students on the basis of candidates' performance in the GATE entrance test. The final selection is based on CCMT counselling process. The counselling body releases a cutoff list for each counselling round. Students with a score equal to or more than cutoff marks become eligible for seat allotment.
