
JEE Main 2025: NTA conducted the JEE Mains exam 2025 in two sessions in January and April. JEE Main 2025 exam date session 1 was January 22, 23, 24, 28, 29 and 30 and February 1. The second session exam was held on April 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9. JEE Main result 2025 has been announced for both Session 1 and 2. Candidates can check JEE Mains 2025 result session 1 & 2 using the link on this page or from the website jeemain.nta.nic.in. NTA has also declared result of candidates whose results were withheld due to documents mismatch. Candidates who qualified JEE Main 2025 by obtaining NTA score above JEE Main cutoff 2025 can appear in JEE Advanced for admission to IITs. JEE Advanced 2025 exam was held on May 18.
JEE Main counselling 2025 will be conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) in June. Candidates who appeared in JEE Main and have a valid score can participate in the counselling for admission to NITs, IIITs and other GFTIs. JEE Advanced qualified candidates also need to register for JoSAA counselling for admission to IITs.

JEE Mains result date 2025 session 2 is April 18. NTA has annoucned the JEE Mains session 2 result. Around 10 Lacs candidates have registered for JEE Mains 2025 session 2 exam. The total number of candidates registere for JEE Main 2025 session 2 will be announced by the NTA along with the result in April. In JEE Mains session 1 exam 2025, 13.11 Lacs candidates registered out of which 12.58 Lacs candidates appeared in the exam. JEE Mains Session 2 exam date 2025 is April 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9.

The JEE Main 2025 result scorecard will have details of candidate percentile score in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and the aggreate percentile score. The Joint Entrance Examination (Main), popularly called JEE Main, is the exam conducted for admission to BTech, BArch and BPlan courses at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. The JEE Main exam is also an eligibility test for JEE Advanced, conducted for admission to IITs.
JEE Main is held twice a year, which gives students two opportunities to secure a good score. Students have the option to appear in one or both attempts.
Candidates seeking admission in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) need to qualify the JEE Main by securing the minimum cutoff marks. The competition is intense, with lakhs of students appearing each year, making it essential for aspirants to prepare diligently. The JEE Main 2025 exam will consist of three papers:
⇒ Paper 1 for admission to BE/BTech courses. It includes questions from classes 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects.
⇒ Paper 2 A and 2B for admission to BArch and BPlan courses respectively. Paper 2A includes Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Drawing while Paper 2B consists of Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Planning-based questions.
The NTA JEE Mains 2025 exam will be computer-based, except for the Drawing section of Paper 2, which is pen-and-paper-based. The NTA had earlier announced JEE Main 2025 changes in the exam pattern. As per the new exam pattern, section B of the JEE Main 2025 exam will now have only 5 questions per subject, and students need to answer all 5 questions without any facility of choice. JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2025
To be eligible for the JEE Main exam, candidates must have completed or are appearing in Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects. There is no age limit or minimum marks in Class 12 for appearing in the exam, but candidates can attempt it for three consecutive years from the year of passing Class 12. Candidates can check here the detailed eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2025 prescribed by the NTA for appearing in the exam. All candidates must ensure their eligibility before applying for the exam failing which their candidature will be cancelled.
- Candidates must have passed class 12 in 2023, 2024 or appearing in 2025.
- There is no minimum percentage required to appear in JEE Main however, candidates must secure a minimum of 75% marks in class 12 or get admission in IITs, NITs or IIITs.
- Candidates must have Mathematics as a compulsory subject in class 12.

NTA has announced JEE Mains cutoff 2025. Candidates can check below the JEE Mains cut off 2025. JEE Main cutoff is the minimum percentile score that candidates have to score to qualify for appearing in JEE Advanced. JEE Main cutoff is different for various categories.
Candidates must note that there are NO minimum marks or cutoffs that students need to obtain to pass the JEE Main exam. The score that candidates get in JEE Main decides the All India Rank and admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs is purely based on the All India Rank. JEE Main Final Answer Key 2025 Session 2 OUT
NTA has released the JEE Main Session 2 Final Answer Key 2025. Candidates can download JEE Main final answer key 2025 session 2 from this page or from JEE Main official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The NTA JEE Main 2025 provisional key pdf session 2 was released on April 11 and the facility to challenge was open for challenge for two days. The last date to object the JEE Main session 2 answer key was April 13 (11:50 pm). Students can challenge the answers in the JEE Main provisional answer key session 2, in case they do not satisfy with any of the NTA answers. Students can submit their grievances in JEE Main Answer Key 2025 session 2 online within the specified dates. The grievances submitted by the candidates will be reviewed by the NTA post which the final answer key will be released. Along with JEE Main answer key download, NTA has also released the JEE Main Response Sheet 2025 and question paper PDF. JEE Mains Today Paper Analysis April 4
Physics- Most students found the Physics section moderate, with a strong presence of numerical questions. The topic distribution was fairly balanced, with significant weightage given to Mechanics, Electrostatics, Optics, and Units & Measurements. However, Modern Physics and Magnetism had fewer questions, and notably, EMI and AC chapters were not covered.
Chemistry- The Chemistry section was rated easy to moderate. Almost all chapters were included, with Inorganic and Physical Chemistry carrying the most weight, while Organic Chemistry had fewer questions. Most theoretical questions were directly taken from NCERT, making them straightforward, although a few required extra time to solve.
Mathematics- Questions were moderate to difficult, with questions well-distributed across various topics. Key areas such as Matrices, 3D Geometry, Vectors, Conic Sections, Calculus, and Determinants were prominently featured. Some questions, however, were lengthy and time-consuming, adding to the challenge.
JEE Main Paper Analysis April 3
Physics: Physics was the easiest section, with a strong presence of numerical and formula-based questions. The distribution covered major topics like Mechanics, Modern Physics, Electrostatics, Optics, and Units & Measurements. However, AC and Magnetism had fewer questions, while Rotation and EMI were absent. Although a few questions were time-consuming, the majority were straightforward, making this section a scoring opportunity for students.
Chemistry: The Chemistry section was rated moderate to difficult, mainly due to a high number of statement-based and unconventional questions. Almost all chapters were included, but Inorganic Chemistry had the highest weightage, while Physical Chemistry was moderately covered, and Organic Chemistry had the least representation. Although most theoretical questions were directly from NCERT, recalling data proved challenging. Physical Chemistry was relatively standard, with fewer numerical questions.
Mathematics: Questions in Mathematics were moderate to difficult, with well-distributed questions across various topics. Matrices, 3D Geometry, Vectors, and Conic Sections had a strong presence, while Calculus had fewer questions. Some problems were lengthy and time-consuming, making time management crucial.
JEE Main April 2 Shift 2 Exam Analysis
- Mathematics: As per the students, Mathematics was easy in JEE Main shift 2 April 2 exam. It featured a blend of straightforward and complex problems, with topics such as calculus, coordinate geometry, and algebra being prominent. Some questions involved lengthy calculations, making time management crucial.
- Physics: JEE Main 2025 session 2 Physics was moderate, comprising both theoretical and numerical questions. Important JEE Main topics covered included Modern Physics, Current Electricity, Capacitors, Magnetic Effects, Units and Dimensions, Rotation, Fluid Mechanics, Surface Tension, Ray Optics, Semiconductors, Logic Gates, and Kinematics.
- Chemistry: JEE Main April 2 shift 2 Chemistry section was moderate to difficult. Organic Chemistry had a significant presence, with questions from General Organic Chemistry, amines, aldehydes, and ketones. Inorganic Chemistry covered areas like chemical bonding and coordination compounds, while Physical Chemistry included numerical problems from electrochemistry and chemical kinetics.
JEE Main 29 January Paper Analysis Shift 1 & 2
Physics- Most students found the Physics section easy, with a majority of the questions being theoretical. The distribution of topics was fairly balanced, with a greater emphasis on Class 12 concepts. Key topics such as Mechanics, Waves, and Thermodynamics were well-covered, while Electrostatics, Optics, and Units & Measurements had a stronger presence. In contrast, Modern Physics and Magnetism had fewer questions. Notably, there were no questions from EMI and AC chapters.
Chemistry- The Chemistry section was rated as easy to moderate and acted as a time-saver. Almost all chapters were covered, with Inorganic and Physical Chemistry being dominant, while Organic Chemistry had fewer questions. Most theoretical questions were directly based on NCERT, making the section straightforward and quick to complete, allowing students to allocate more time to other subjects.
Mathematics- Mathematics ranged from moderate to difficult, with well-distributed questions across most chapters. Topics such as 3D Geometry, Vectors, Binomial Theorem, Conic Sections, Matrices, and Determinants were prominent. However, Calculus had fewer questions, though functions were covered. While the difficulty level was not excessively high, the time-consuming nature of many questions made Mathematics the most challenging section for many students.
JEE Main 28 January Paper Analysis Shift 1 & 2
The shift 2 of JEE Mains 2025 January 28 paper was overall moderate, with the Mathematics section being a bit more challenging than Physics and Chemistry. However, many students felt the paper was well-balanced and fair. Overall, the exam tested both conceptual understanding and quick problem-solving skills. With the right strategy, preparation, and time management, candidates can approach the JEE Main exam confidently and work towards achieving their desired rank.
JEE Main 2025 January 23 Shift 1 & 2 Paper Analysis
The JEE Main 23 January 2025 Shift 1 paper was of easy to moderate difficulty. Among the three sections, Chemistry was the easiest, followed by Physics, while Mathematics was slightly more challenging due to its length and calculation-intensive nature. The distribution of questions across topics was uneven, with some units receiving more prominence than others. Here’s a detailed subject-wise analysis:
Physics- The Physics section was perceived as easy to moderate by most students. The majority of the questions were drawn from Class 12 topics, with relatively fewer from Class 11. Chapters like Mechanics, Waves, and Thermodynamics were less emphasized in this shift. However, Class 12 topics such as Optics and Electromagnetism had a stronger presence. Questions from Modern Physics were moderate in number, while chapters like Alternating Currents (AC), EMI, and Magnetism were underrepresented. Notably, there was a good number of instrument-related questions, adding variety to the section.
Chemistry- In Chemistry, the paper covered almost all chapters, though certain units dominated. The section was considered the easiest and served as a significant time-saver for most students. Organic Chemistry was the most prominent, with straightforward questions that often-resembled past-year problems. Inorganic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry had fewer questions comparatively. Overall, Chemistry was quick to solve and allowed students to allocate more time to the other sections.
Mathematics- The Mathematics section, on the other hand, ranged from moderate to difficult. Questions from Class 11 chapters were fewer, with Class 12 topics like Calculus, 3D Geometry and Vectors, and Conic Sections dominating in terms of numbers. While the questions were not overly complex, many involved lengthy calculations, making this section time-consuming. For several students, Mathematics emerged as the most challenging part of the paper.
JEE Main 22 January 2025 Shift 1 Paper Analysis
As per students who had appeared in the exam, JEE Main January 22 shift 1 paper was easy in difficulty level. The subject-wise difficulty level is
Mathematics- Moderate in difficulty level. The questions were lengthy.
Physics- Easy to moderate in difficulty level.
Chemistry- Easy in difficulty level. Questions asked from mole concept, catalyst. Many questions from Organic.
JEE Main 22 January 2025 Shift 2 Paper Analysis
As per initial reaction from students who had appeared in the exam, the overall difficulty level was moderate. The difficulty level of the January 22nd, 2025 (Evening Shift) paper was almost the same as that of the Morning Shift. Among the three subjects, Physics was the easiest, followed by Chemistry, while Mathematics was the most challenging due to the lengthiness of its questions. A detailed subject-wise analysis is as follows:
Physics: Compared to the Morning Shift, Physics questions in the Evening Shift were relatively easier. Many students found this section the simplest. Mechanics was the most dominant topic, while Waves, Magnetism, and Modern Physics were also well-represented. Almost all chapters were covered evenly, and AR-type theoretical questions were included as well.
Chemistry: Questions were predominantly easy, similar to the Morning Shift. There was a relatively lower representation of Physical Chemistry, with Organic and Inorganic Chemistry forming the majority. Most of the questions were theoretical and covered almost all chapters equally. Assertion-Reason (AR) type questions were also included and were primarily theoretical.
Mathematics: Considered the most difficult section, mainly due to the lengthy nature of its questions. Based on student feedback, questions were asked from Calculus, Vectors & 3D Geometry, Matrices and Determinants, Quadratic Equations, Coordinate Geometry, and Binomial Theorem. The quality of the questions was comparable to the Morning Shift, with all chapters receiving equal representation. However, many average students found the section too time-consuming.
