Diploma in Electronics Engineering - Batch of 2027
3.6
2Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Good infrastructure and faculty, with decent placements, but limited industry exposure for some.
Placements: I hear that in my department, students from each branch get selected. This means that approximately 20% of students from each branch get selected through campus placement. Companies like Voltas, Amazon, and others visit the college. The placement rate isn't 100%, but a significant portion of students, around 90%, secure positions in reputable companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good overall. Wi-Fi, classrooms, labs, and the library are all good. Facilities available at the university are overall okay. In the hostel, the mess food is not very good. Medical and sports facilities are okay for all students, and the sports area is large. In the canteen, the price of food is a little high compared to outside.
Faculty: In my department, teachers are very helpful and support us. The exams are not too hard. If you solve 3 to 4 years of the previous year's questions, you can easily score 70 to 80%. Diploma programs at Jamia Millia Islamia are taught by experienced faculty members who are experts in their respective fields. They bring a blend of academic knowledge and practical industry experience to the classroom. Faculty-student interaction is encouraged to facilitate a comprehensive learning experience.
Other: My course is Diploma Engineering in Electronics. I chose it because in this field you work on robotics, satellites, networks, communication, etc., and you will have fun.

Diploma in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2026
4.8
5Placements4Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
I am satisfied with Jamia Millia Islamia.
Placements: Almost 60% of the students got placed from the electrical engineering branch, with the highest package of 12 LPA in Voltas, Dubai, and the lowest package is 3.5 LPA. Almost 90% of students did internships in different companies like BSES, PWD, etc.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities, food, dorms, and maintenance are good, with Wi-Fi available 24/7, and almost everything is available. Classrooms and libraries are well-maintained, and the library is fully air-conditioned with Wi-Fi provided. The quality of the food is also good in the hostel, giving it a 6/10, and we have a separate hospital for medical facilities. Sports facilities are also provided with a separate sports complex and an annual sports day.
Faculty: Teaching quality is also good and can vary from teacher to teacher, and what students perceive from the teachers and whether the teachers are highly qualified, mainly with a Ph.D. The course curriculum is highly relevant, and it is provided with industry-based knowledge and skills. Semester exams are not very difficult with proper hard work and also with the support of teachers. The pass percentage is 96%.
Other: Rather than doing 11th and 12th before B. Tech, we can pursue a diploma in engineering, which is more job-oriented and would also give a higher understanding of the industry. There are no compromises in events, fests, campus crowd, and connectivity in Jamia Millia Islamia, and there is plenty of it already available. The best part is the scholarship and extracurricular activities.

M.A. in Applied Psychology - Batch of 2025

Best campus, bad infrastructure of Psychology department, and best faculties.
Placements: As I am a psychology student, placement in this course is not that active on my campus. But there is a placement cell with which we have affiliation. But the thing is, my seniors (the previous passed-out batch) have been admitted to different universities for M.Phil. and PhD.
Infrastructure: Hostel is good. There is good infrastructure and mess. But the Department of Psychology is bad. There are no separate class rooms for PG and UG. Programmes are conducted on corridors. There is free WiFi on campus. We have a vast library and large reading halls with air conditioning. We have many canteens where Veg and Non-Veg are available. We have fee consultation facilities at the hospital. We have a big sports complex where we can practice.
Faculty: Faculties are really helpful. But syllabus is not that updated. There are two sessions before every semester exams, and every exam was conducted on time. The semester exam is not that difficult for those who studied. At least two modules from every subject come in the exams.
Other: It was my dream to study in Jamia. By God's grace, I cracked the entrance exam and got admission. The campus is perfect, and the events here are entertaining. Only negative is the bad infrastructure of the psychology department. Also, the best thing about my course is the compulsory internship during the third semester; it was a really good experience and will make us capable of becoming good psychologists.

B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2028
4.2
3Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
Good infrastructure, a stressful environment, average placement, and average curriculum.
Placements: On campus placement, about 12 students of the final year got placed in Optum on a package of 18 LPA and many other companies like TCS, with a varied range of package offered, Cdot (21 LPA) also visited our college. And if we look at the off-campus placements, some students got into Microsoft with a package of 50 LPA and even Morgan Stanley.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good. Wi-Fi is available everywhere. Hostels are great. Each room in the hostel has three sitters but the room is big enough for three persons. The quality of mess food is below average. Outside the hostel, it's quite expensive to live. Labs are well-maintained We have a separate library for the engineering department and there is a central library too. There are also reading rooms and you can issue the book from the library quite easily. The Wi-Fi and AC of the library is in proper condition.
Faculty: Teachers are friendly and helpful. Some teachers are not that great but most of them are helpful and knowledgeable. All the teachers are qualified from prestigious colleges like (IIT, NIT, and even Jamia itself). The curriculum is quite old. It can have some changes as the industry is also changing. Semester exams are tough but not so tough that you will fail. One has to attend the lectures to pass the exams without stress.
Other: I wish there were AC classrooms for all the students. First-year classes are on the third floor and we aren't allowed to use the elevator. Events in the college are great a good atmosphere where you will find good friends and a stress-free environment. Scholarships are also granted to many students.

Good infrastructure and facilities. Good crowd teachers cooperate with students.
Placements: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) offered decent B.Tech placements, with the highest package of around INR 25 LPA and an average of 7 LPA - 8 LPA, according to Shiksha.com. Many reputed companies recruited from JMI, including Microsoft, Deloitte, Accenture, and Wipro. University placement brochure highlights the department's efforts in bridging the gap between industry requirements and student skills.
Infrastructure: Jamia Millia Islamia provided limited hostel accommodation for its B.Tech students, primarily to outstation students. The hostels, including those for boys and girls, had a specific capacity. Admission was based on merit and other criteria outlined in the hostel guidelines.
Faculty: B.Tech offered good teaching with qualified faculty members in most colleges. The curriculum was mostly industry-relevant with labs and projects. Exams were moderate in difficulty, and pass rates were around 60-80%. With effort, students become job-ready and skilled.
Other: Students were amazing, and there was amazing culture.

Dissatisfied with infrastructure considering the fact that this is a central university.
Placements: This course offers roles like counselor, psychologist, teacher, and trainer. However, practical knowledge is crucial for success in these professions. While theoretical learning is provided, real-world skills like communication, empathy, and problem-solving are essential. A focus on internships, fieldwork, and hands-on practice is needed to bridge the gap between theory and practical application, ensuring students are well-prepared for these roles.
Infrastructure: A key issue is the lack of specific allotted classrooms for each year. We are sitting in lab classrooms with limited space and uncomfortable chairs. Additionally, there is no efficient cooling system, making it difficult to focus during extreme weather conditions.
Faculty: While some teachers are qualified and helpful, others fall short in delivering quality education. Additionally, the course syllabus is outdated, lacking relevance to current trends and practices in the field, which impacts the overall learning experience and skill development of students.
