IIM Trichy has a highly competitive and rigorous admission process for all its programmes. The selection process typically involves an initial screening of candidates based on their CAT percentile scores, followed by a Personal Interview and Written Analysis Test.  Apart from CAT, the institute also accepts scores from other national and international level entrance exams such as GMAT, GRE, and GATE.

IIM Tiruchirappalli offers postgraduate, Certificate and doctoral programmes and the courses include PGPM, PGPM-HR, DPM, EDPM, PGPBM (Chennai), and Ph.D. The duration of these courses range between two to five years.
