NIT Srinagar is located very close to Dal Lake.

Placements: 75 percent of students, or 3 in every 4 students from NIT Srinagar, are placed. From Oracle to Samsung, various core companies come to our campus, and students are offered in excess of 20 LPA. Overall, the highest placement from NIT Srinagar is around 36 LPA.

Infrastructure: Our campus is located right in the eyesight of Dal Lake, so picturesque that one can't keep their eyes off it. Secondly, it is a residential campus, and therefore hostels are inside the campus. Along with that, there is faculty residence as well. There is open space to roam around and play as and when one wants to.

Faculty: Faculty members stay on the campus, we don't have time to spare, as sometimes lectures go past 6 in the evening as well. Their qualification is a Doctorate, and most of them have done their research in IISERs or top IITs. NIT Srinagar is a tough nut to crack because studies here are quite tough.

Other: I have recently joined the Tech Fusion Club of the college, which organizes most of the events that the college hosts, including the tech fest Techvaganza.

Expectation vs reality of living at NIT SRG.

Placements: In my field, in particular, there are the maximum placements among all courses. So, almost 85% of students get placed. Many good companies also arrive. This semester, Microsoft came to the campus. Many companies like Razorpay and Visa, along with many more, have arrived. Software engineer roles are offered. Basically, they look at the skills.

Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is fine. There are LANs in every room that provide network access. The library has Wi-Fi that works pretty well. Moreover, we have college open-campus Wi-Fi. College mess food is good compared to other messes. It is not overly good, but it works fine. Hostels are good. Cleanliness is maintained every day. Wardens do really look into your matters in the girls' hostel.

Faculty: The curriculum, I think, should be updated. Overall, it is fine and works well. I personally feel like the curriculum should change more towards practical knowledge so that we become more ready for placements. There should be more practice of coding rather than rote learning. Semester exams are easy if you just read teacher's notes. The passing percentage is above 5 CGPA. That is above 38 marks out of 100.

Other: I chose this course because it is booming well now, too. I wish we could change our courses to focus more on practical knowledge than theoretical knowledge. Fests do happen, but very few. I wish we had more fun. The major drawback is that it is in Kashmir, a place where religion becomes a matter. Overall, nature is fine.

NIT Srinagar inside details.

Placements: Around 50% of students were placed in the previous batch. The internship percentage was actually very high, with the figures released by the college showing 122% for Chemical Engineering specifically and 107% for overall branches. The placement percentage is low because most students go for master's degrees.

Infrastructure: The classes are pretty good. All the classes have been replaced with smart classes. However, the hostels are filled beyond their capacity. In the first year, the strength per room will be 5, and it can be up to 6 persons. In the final year, you may get a single room based on your CGPA. Otherwise, you will be allotted a shared room with 3 students. A mega hostel has also been under construction since 2019 and has not yet been completed. After its completion, things will be much better.

Faculty: Some teachers are cool, but some are strict too. I did a research internship at IIT Delhi, and the curriculum was very helpful in its successful completion. The semester exams in the first year are of an easy level, but when you enter your department, the difficulty level increases.

Other: There are too many restrictions here.

Satisfied with placements, as the college and students are doing better every year.

Placements: 80 percent of students got placed from my course. The highest package is 11 LPA and the lowest is 6 LPA. Top companies like Vedanta hire from our college. 95 percent of students got internships from our college. The top role offered in my college is project manager.

Infrastructure: Facilities in our college are decent and not bad, but not very good infrastructure. It has decent infrastructure. Classes are high-tech, and Wi-Fi is available all around the campus. The library is very good and the service in the library is very good in our college. The quality of food in our mess se very decent and edible. Canteen is too good. There is a cricket ground, a football ground, a badminton court, a running track, a lawn tennis ground, a volleyball ground, and a basketball ground.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and some of the teachers are very strict. They follow their rules very strictly. They hate coming late they are highly qualified professionals and very knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good and some teachers are decent. The course curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are not very difficult but not also very easy for someone who studies, it is easy for them.

Other: I chose this course due to my rank in the Joint Entrance Exam Main and the best thing about my course is hard work and learning. I like it. I wish to improve in teaching methods, as our focus should be on practical things, not on a theoretical basis.

College is good, and you will get exposure from this college.

Placements: In this academic year, the placements are average. Overall, approximately 70-80% students got placed. In my Metallurgy branch, almost 90+% students got placed with the highest package of 15.5 LPA. Average salary package offered was 8 LPA, and the median was 6.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are JSW, Vedanta, and many more. Almost all the students got internship offers.

Infrastructure: Laboratories for each branch are provided. Wi-Fi is established all over the campus. All classrooms have digital boards as well as whiteboards with full air conditioning. Hostels are quite average in 1st, 2nd, 3rd years, one has to share the room with 4 other students. In the final year, students are allotted a single room according to CGPA. Food quality is average medical facilities are good. Sports grounds are well-maintained, and all games are available here.

Faculty: Faculty members are quite good and supportive. Teachers are helpful by nature. You can even meet them personally if you have doubts. Professors are qualified and have studied at IITs. The course curriculum is relevant, and we are the same as the rest of the other NITs. You can easily pass the semester exam. If you don't have any issues with professors. Few teachers are strict, and students have to focus especially on their exams.

Other: Fests are quite usual, not too much. Extracurricular activities are organised. Hackathons and other events are usually organised in each semester. There is a restriction that you cannot go out after 8 :00 PM.

Review of NIT Srinagar Chemical Engineering and overall placement rate.

Placements: Overall placement rate of our department is 35-45 percent. The highest package is 14LPA, the lowest is 2.8 LPA, and the average is 8 LPA. Companies that visit our campus for placement such as NTPC, DRDO, HPCL, etc. 15 percent of students got internships from the companies that visit our campus. Top roles offered are process engineer, production engineer, plant engineer, etc.

Infrastructure: The facilities of the classroom and library are at the top level. Everything is working and is advanced. There are a total 5-6 persons in one room in the boys hostel. The quality of food in the mess is better than that in many private colleges. There are full medical facilities and sports and games are also available for the students as well as for the professors.

Faculty: They all have completed their PhD. Their teaching style is good. The course curriculum is more relevant from the second year onwards. The college exams are moderate to difficult. The pass percentage is more than 90 percent including all the branches.

Other: I wanted to be a chemical engineer from the start. There should be more practical experiments and plants visit for the students. Events, fests, connectivity, etc., all are good.
