B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2029

Decent facilities if you are looking for this college your rank is not good so accept it.
Placements: Around 80% of students get placed, but it includes off-campus as well. The highest package for ECE is around 40 LPA. The main difference that the branch creates is the % of students placed, and you will have to study core subjects from the 3rd semester onwards. Overall, the college is decent, but some hostel accommodation problems are going on.
Infrastructure: The college is actually good because it was built in 2022. Facilities are quite good, and you will feel that the hostel is better than most NITs' hostels. The mess food is decent. You can live on it. Sports and games are available, like grounds, but it is just bare minimum.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. Most of them are strict in terms of attendance and stuff, but some teachers are very strict, really because of their own personality, not because they are told to do this. Exams are quick, mid-sem have 2 exams a day, 5 exams, and end-sems last 9 to 12 days.
Other: Fests happen, but not great. Overall, a decent college.

It is great for students if they want to take admission in any IIIT except government ones.
Placements: Placements are good in my college. If students are hardworking, know how to do smart work, and have skills, then they can get placements here. We should just focus on developing skills that will be required in the future, like DSA, OOPs, MATLAB, and HTML.
Infrastructure: The campus is very beautiful with a lot of trees and plants. We can see mountains clearly. There is AC in each classroom. There are 2 badminton courts in each hostel. The study room is there for silent and focused study. The canteen is not that good, but it is enough to satisfy our cravings.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified. Some of them are very supportive and helpful. Most of them teach very well. The course curriculum is relevant as it teaches DSA, which is a must-have for any placement interview and the first demand of any company. Semester exams are moderately difficult. We can get a good grade by studying for just 2 hours daily and with regular classes.

Shortage of hostels, a decent campus, nice placements, and low crowd, which can be a pro or con.
Placements: As far as I know, when it comes to placements, it doesn't matter what the course or the branch we are in, and what matters here is the right skill set. The placement report of the 2026 batch is quite good. Almost 90-95 percent of students are placed with the average package that ranges from 15-16 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college campus is decent. It has nice sports facilities, air-conditioned classrooms, and labs with well-established equipment and devices. The hostel has a shortage of seats in the campus hostel, and half of the 2029 batch students are given a hostel at a remote location. The bus facility is provided by the college, but it consumes time on a daily basis.
Faculty: The course curriculum at IIIT Una is well-designed for the betterment of students. Faculty members are decent. There is a minimum of 75 percent attendance criteria to appear in exams (but flexible up to 5-10 percent). Exams are not very difficult, but there is a competitive environment among students.

A:

According the cutoff list released by IIIT Una for admission to its flagship BTech programme the closing rank for BTech in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) in the year 2021, 2022 & 2023 was 41419, 28324 & 30243 respectively. This clearly shows that the closing rank for the CSE branch at IIIT Una increased excessively in the year 2022 with respect to the year 2021 but it couldn’t maintain that growth for very long and crashed down to 30243 in the current year 2023 which makes the lowers the difficulty level for those who are willing to enrol in BTech in CSE at IIIT Una. In addition to this, BTech in Electronics & Communication was no different as it also followed the graph of the former two BTech branches.

The location is nice, but the placement is weak.
Placements: The overall placements were okay. The college helped to some extent, but students mostly got placed by themselves in different companies. Around 50% of students got placed on campus. The lowest package was 3 LPA and the highest was 32 LPA. The internship percentage was a bit low.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was very good. The location was beautiful with nice sunsets. Shivalik range was visible. Wi-Fi, labs, and other facilities were new, which was helpful. The hostel was also nice with different mess options. Food quality was okay. The campus was beautiful.
Faculty: Faculty was nice, with many doctorate and specialized professors. Their communication was good, but interaction was a bit low. Exams were conducted on time without any issues. The curriculum kept updating. It helped students stay up to date.

Life at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Una, Himachal Pradesh.
Placements: The placement statistics of IIIT Una are as follows. The highest package is 30 LPA, and average is 11 LPA. Branch-wise placements are CSE-12.38 LPA, ECE-10.79 LPA, and IT-9.9 LPA. Top recruiters include Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Infosys, TCS, etc. Many students are also hired as interns in companies for the role of SDE.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Una, is good compared to other IIITs constructed at the same time. There are 4 hostels, 2 basketball courts, 3 badminton courts, 1 lawn tennis court, and 1 football court. All years have hostel accommodation, and the permanent campus spans across 100 acres. However, the upcoming batch faces an accommodation issue, as only 100 to 150 students will be allotted hostels within the campus on a first-come, first-served basis.
Faculty: Faculty of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Una, are well-qualified and passionate about their work. The course curriculum of the college is up to date. Compared to NITs, the relative grading system is preferred, and there is also a 75% attendance criterion. All teachers are very helpful.
Other: I am from the Information Technology branch, currently in the 3rd semester. My batch strength is 75. I have opted for this course because I have an interest in programming. The campus area and the location of the college are not good. The senior-junior interaction is not good, and the coding culture is also not as good as I have heard on social media.

Growing Institute with good infrastructure and decent placement opportunities.
Placements: I am a final-year student of the 2025 batch from electronics and communication. The placement scenario has been fairly strong increasing demand for electronics. Approximately 70%-73% of students from our batch have been placed while drives still going on. It would be better in the near future.
Infrastructure: Our college is equipped with all the necessary infrastructure to support academic and research activities. The classrooms are well-ventilated, equipped with projects, and fully AC-oriented. High-speed data is provided through Wi-Fi but sometimes power cuts lead to poor quality.
Faculty: The faculty of my branch are generally well-qualified holding Ph.D. and M.Tech degree in their domain. They are knowledgeable and approachable and have good relations with students. But I would say our college more focuses on theoretical knowledge than practical.
Other: I chose this college because of the wide range of opportunities not only in electronics but also in computer science. We have a balanced curriculum that has facilities hands-on in labs and programming design. But there is still a need for improvement. The campus is vibrant and has multiple cultural and technical activities organized by clubs.

A decent college to join - With IIIT #tag.
Placements: The placements when I joined the college are good as per the 4th year batch but the current batch of 4th year is not doing well on placements. Although the placement percentage is good but the average and median packages have dropped from last year. Probably due to low potential students in a certain batch. The off-campus placements are good though, and many seniors are getting internships from 2nd year instead. So, it is a well-to-do college in terms of placements as compared to tier-II and tier-III colleges.
Infrastructure: Although due to lesser number of branches and lower number of students, the student intake is less and the crowd is also less. So, it affects the overall campus size. The campus size is small and compact but they provide almost all facilities. It lacks the following, no proper auditorium (only an indoor big size lecture hall is treated as an auditorium), and the area is not so developed. It is located outside the city. But we can reach the city easily.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and very supportive. The exams are to the point and reflect what is taught by faculty members. The students are not overburdened by a lot of homework. Also, we get a lot of spare time to focus on our skills. Overall, it is a good experience.
Other: College is still in the growing stage in terms of infrastructure, alumni, and opportunities. It helps you to grow as well and assures a good future. Fests are also kind of decent, and they promote students overall development for sure. Although many events face low participation but anyways we are improving.

The overall experience in this college will be really good.
Placements: The placement states of this college are good. 87% of the students were placed in the CSE batch of 2024-2025. The highest package is 30 LPA, and the average package of the CSE course is 12.38 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Amazon, Microsoft, Grow, Google, Byju's, Jio, etc. Due to the recession, the placement states are low but are better than other colleges.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities are really good. The infrastructure is new, and the condition of the rooms is better than the holder colleges. Classrooms are small and good for focusing on the quality content taught during the lectures. Wi-Fi, labs, and library are good. The quality of food in the mess is satisfactory. The medical facilities, sports, and games are very good than the other colleges.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The nature of the teachers to the students is very good. If someone understands the fundamental concepts of this course, then surely he will become industry-ready because the curriculum of this course is more updated than the other colleges. The pass percentage is based on the relative grading, so it is easy for the students to pass the exams.
