GATE IIT MTech Cutoff: IITs release the GATE cutoff for admission to the IIT Mtech course. Candidates can check the cutoffs on this page below. IITs release the GATE cutoff ranks category-wise. The cutoff ranks denote the last rank up to which admission has been granted in the IITs in each MTech course offered by them. All IITs offer MTech seats to GATE-qualified candidates via the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP).

Note while COAP is for MTech admission via GATE, CCMT is for admission to MTech programmes offered by NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and CFTIs. State and private universities will conduct their own counselling based on GATE 2025 results, which were announced on March 19 along with the qualifying cutoff marks.

Factors determining GATE IIT MTech Cut off
The GATE cutoff for each IIT will differ, and all IITs will release their GATE cutoff based on the following factors: Candidates will be able to see the cutoff for all IITs on the official website of CCMT (Centralised Counselling for MTech). Look at the list of factors that will determine the GATE IIT MTech cutoff:
- Total number of candidates qualified in the GATE 2025 exam
- The difficulty level of the examination i.e. easy/ moderate/ difficult
- Availabiltiy of seats for a particular course

Commonly asked questions
Yes, GATE score is required to get admission to IIT Bombay course. However, aspirants who have not qualified GATE can also get admission based on written test conducted by the institute. The shortlisted candidates are further called for a personal interview round. In order to be eligible to apply for the course, an aspirant must have a BE/ BTech/ BSc/ Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning/ MSc/ MCA/ MBBS/ MPharm/ BPharm/ BDS/ degree recognised equivalent to BE/ BTech with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD category) earned through Associate Membership Examinations conducted by recognised professional bodies to apply for MTech course.
JEE Advanced Cutoff 2025 for BTech course ranged from 126 to 5733 for students in the General AI category, so therefore a student should attain a rank of 5733 or preferably lower to increase their chances of admission to IIT Delhi. Please note that BTech cutoff 2025 will vary according to different rounds, courses, specialisations and categories. The cutoff score in GATE is the minimum mark required to qualify for the exam. The conducting body releases the qualifying cutoff along with result. It determines, whether a candidate is eligible to participate in the counselling round or not.
The cutoff score in GATE varies every year (category-wise), depending on the number of students registered, difficulty level of the question paper, and previous year's trends. The GATE cutoff score are mainly of two types - admission and qualifying cutoff.
Indian Institute of Technology released GATE cutoff 2026. The IITG GATE 2026 result has been declared. The conducting body releases the exam result and cutoff for all 30 subjects. The cutoff for GATE 2026 is available category-wise. Candidates securing the minimum cutoff will be eligible to participate in counselling.
Note: The minimum qualifying cutoff is different for all subjects.
IIT Guwahati has released GATE cutoff 2026 mark for all 30 papers. This year, for many papers, the general cutoff is mainly 25-30 marks. Candidates can check GATE passing mark here.
IIT Kharagpur offers BTech and Integrated BTech courses based on JEE Advanced scores. Based on candidates' scores, the institute released the IIT Kharagpur cutoff 2024 for various categories belonging to the All India quota. As per the last-round, the JEE Advanced cutoff for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering programme stood at 415 for the General AI category candidates. No, students can not get direct admission in Cluster Innovation Centre MSc. The college only accepts CUET PG score. Hence, having a GATE scorecard will not come in handy during admissions.

If you are seeking admission in NIT Surathkal MTech, then GATE is mandatory. Students applying for non-MTech programmes do not need to appear for GATE. For M.Tech however, GATE followed by the centralised counselling is mandatory.

No, students can not get admission in IIT Roorkee MSc with GATE scores. The institute accepts IIT JAM score only. No other tests including GATE are accepted. Students also have to appear for the centralised counselling to get a seat.

IISc Bangalore GATE cutoff 2026 for the ECE course for the General AI category was 650 in round 1. For the OBC AI category, the round 1 cutoff for the same course was 600. This difference in the score says that the competiton for the General AI category was higher than the OBC AI quota.
