The cutoff ranks denote the last rank up to which admission has been granted in the IITs in each MTech course offered by them. All IITs offer MTech seats to GATE-qualified candidates via the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP).

Note while COAP is for MTech admission via GATE, CCMT is for admission to MTech programmes offered by NITsIIITs, GFTIs, and CFTIs. State and private universities will conduct their own counselling based on GATE 2025 results, which were announced on March 19 along with the qualifying cutoff marks.

IIT Bombay CAT cutoff 2024 has been released for admisison to its MBA course. The CAT cutoff 2024 for the students belonging to the General AI category is 90 for MBA programme. The IIT Bombay MBA Cutoff percentile has remained constant for the past three years. Therefore, it is less likely for candidate getting 85 percentile to get admission at IIT Bombar, among the General AI category. 

Q:   Can I get MTech in IIT Bombay with GATE?
A:

Yes, GATE score is required to get admission to IIT Bombay course. However, aspirants who have not qualified GATE can also get admission based on written test conducted by the institute. The shortlisted candidates are further called for a personal interview round. In order to be eligible to apply for the course, an aspirant must have a BE/ BTech/ BSc/ Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning/ MSc/ MCA/ MBBS/ MPharm/ BPharm/ BDS/ degree recognised equivalent to BE/ BTech with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD category) earned through Associate Membership Examinations conducted by recognised professional bodies to apply for MTech course.

Q:   Is there any entrance exam for PhD at IIT Delhi?
A:

Yes, IIT Delhi accepts GATE/CEED/UGC/CSIR/DBT/ICMR entrance exam scores for admission to different specialisations offered under the IIT Delhi PhD programme. Candidates shortlisted based on the exam score can be called for an interview round by some of the departments. The accepted exam can vary depending upon the chosen PhD specialisation.

Factors determining GATE IIT MTech Cut off

The GATE cutoff for each IIT will differ, and all IITs will release their GATE cutoff based on the following factors: Candidates will be able to see the cutoff for all IITs on the official website of CCMT (Centralised Counselling for MTech). Look at the list of factors that will determine the GATE IIT MTech cutoff:

  • Total number of candidates qualified in the GATE 2025 exam
  • The difficulty level of the examination i.e. easy/ moderate/ difficult
  • Availabiltiy of seats for a particular course

Q:   How much percentage is required for admission to IIT Kharagpur?
A:

The minimum percentage required for admission to IIT Kharagpur is different for different courses. However, IIT Kharagpur admission is completely entrance-based. Q:   What is the minimum eligibility criteria of IIT Delhi MDes programme?
A:

For IIT Delhi M.Des admission, candidates must have passed BE/ BTech/ BDes/ BArch or equivalent degree in a relevant field with a CGPA of 6.00 on a 10-point scale or 60% aggregate. Apart from the minimum eligibility requirement, candidates are also required to appear for the CEED entrance test.

No, passport size is not mandatory to carry. Along with GATE hall ticket, students must carry their valid ID proof, pen or pencil and water bottle. Scribe applicants can carry their assistive devices.

GATE CSE exam will take place on February 8 in two sessions. CS 1 and 2 shift timings are- 

  • Forenoon - 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
  • Afternoon - 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm
