Candidates seeking admission must meet the course-specific eligibility requirements. For admission to a MA course, it is crucial that the aspirant have a valid UG degree in the relevant subject from a recognised university. Candidates shall have academic certificates (original and photocopies) at the time of admission as well.

Admission for February 2023 is open at the open university for postgraduate courses. Candidates can register and submit their applications. As per the official website, the last date to submit the application for Feb 2023 is Mar 31. Candidates shall ensure that they complete and submit their application on or before the due date.

The fees for the MA course range between INR 7.5 K - INR 40 K. The duration of the course is for two years. The admission to MA course is based on merit. Moreover, it is compulsory to fulfil the eligibility criteria for BAOU MA admissions. The eligibility criteria for MA admissions is that candidate should have passed graduation from a recognised university.

The open university offers MA courses in five specialisations in the streams of Humanities & Social Sciences, Mass Communication & Media. The MA specialisations offered by BAOU are Hindi, English, Sociology, Gujarati, Journalism and Mass Communication (MJMC). Candidates can apply for any of the MA specialisations after completing graduation.

The total tuition fee for two-year MA courses ranges from INR 7,600 to INR 40,000. BAOU offers a fee concession to female candidates.
