Ambedkar Open University Course Admissions 2025: Fee, Eligibility & Selection, Application Form

BAOU MA admission is offered based on your performance in the last qualifying examinations which is graduation. Hence, the student's aggregate in the bachelor’s or UG course is taken into consideration. 

The open university offers MA courses in five specialisations in the streams of Humanities & Social Sciences, Mass Communication & Media. The MA specialisations offered by BAOU are Hindi, English, Sociology, Gujarati, Journalism and Mass Communication (MJMC). Candidates can apply for any of the MA specialisations after completing graduation.

The total tuition fee for two-year MA courses ranges from INR 7,600 to INR 40,000. BAOU offers a fee concession to female candidates. BAOU accepts admission to either first or second year of the course. Those taking admission in the first year should have a UG degree. While for those taking admission in the second year, a PGD in social work after graduation from a recognised university is needed.

BAOU MSW fee is INR 30,000. This amount is taken from official sources and can change. Students have to pay course fee at the time of admission to confirm seat in the university.

No, the university does not conduct any entrance tests for MSW course admission. Admission to the PG-level course is merit-based. Hence, the aspirant’s merit in the UG degree is taken into consideration. Additionally, it is also compulsory that the students meet the eligibility criteria.

Aspirants who have passed class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognised board are eligible to apply for a BA course in BAOU Ahmedabad. Candidates shall have the pass certificate with them at the time of form filling or at the time of admission (if required). In addition, the candidates who have passed B.P.P. examination are also eligible to apply.

The UG course is offered by the open university in three specialisations. BAOU offer a three-year BA course in English, Sociology, and Economics. Admission to the courses is merit-based. BAOU offers three-year BBA programme divided into six semester. Admission to BBA course is merit-based. Aspirants need to pass Class 12 or equivalent or ITI degree after completing Class 10 to apply for BAOU BBA programme. 

Candidates seeking admission in the BBA first year should have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam Or Class 10 with ITI, NCVT/GCVT, GSHEB/GOSE Class 12 English exam or Class 10 with a three-year Diploma are also eligible. Additionally, for direct admission to second-year, students shall have passed Class and have a one-year Diploma in the relevant subject. Furthermore, for admission in the third year, the aspirant should have completed an advanced Diploma in the relevant subject as per the chosen BBA specialisation.

BAOU BBA fees is between Rs 24,000 and Rs 45,000. This fees amount is taken from official sources and can change. Students have to pay course fee to confirm their seat at BAOU.
