According to the data fetched from Shiksha students reviews, an 85% placement rate was recorded for BA courses during the recent years placements. Further, the placement rate achieved for BBA courses in Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University placements over the past few years was 70%. Students have also given a review that 65% of the BA students receive internship opportunities during the summer placement sessions.

For MBA admission at BAOU, candidates must have passed graduation with a minimum aggregate of 50%. BAOU Ahmedabad admission to the MBA programme is merit-based. Candidates seeking admission can apply online. 

BAOU offers seats to candidates based on their merit. The university does not accept CUET scores and aspirants can get admission based on their score in the qualifying exam. Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria can apply for the preferred course and pay the programme fee to confirm their seat in the university.

The degrees/diplomas/certificates offered by BAOU Ahmedabad are treated at par with other UGC-approved universities' degrees/diplomas/certificates. Hence, the degrees issued by BAOU are valid and accepted by companies and other institutes. Additionally, the university is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It is also recognised by the Distance Education Council (DEC).

BAOU offers admission to UG and PG programmes based on their merit in the last qualifying exam. Hence, aspirants do not require passing an entrance test. The selection is done purely based on merit. Aspirants only need to meet the eligibility requirement and apply for the preferred course to get admission in the university. Once the selection is done, candidates have to pay the course fee to confirm their seat in the university.

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University provides modern amenities with state-of-the-art infrastructure to its students. The facilities provided by the institute include well-ventilated classrooms, e-classrooms, faculty rooms, labs, a library, a seminar hall, and sports facilities, among others. The central library of the university has a collection of more than 73,000 books on history, linguistics, sociology, political science, public administration, computer science, and other streams. Over 161 study centres also have their own departmental libraries.

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University also offers online courses through its Centre for Online Education (COE). BAOU course admissions are merit-based for most of the courses offered at the university. The university has a student network of 3 Lakh students.

Candidates seeking admission in the BBA first year should have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam Or Class 10 with ITI, NCVT/GCVT, GSHEB/GOSE Class 12 English exam or Class 10 with a three-year Diploma are also eligible. Additionally, for direct admission to second-year, students shall have passed Class and have a one-year Diploma in the relevant subject. Furthermore, for admission in the third year, the aspirant should have completed an advanced Diploma in the relevant subject as per the chosen BBA specialisation.

Aspirants who have passed class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognised board are eligible to apply for a BA course in BAOU Ahmedabad. Candidates shall have the pass certificate with them at the time of form filling or at the time of admission (if required). In addition, the candidates who have passed B.P.P. examination are also eligible to apply.

No, the university does not conduct any entrance tests for MSW course admission. Admission to the PG-level course is merit-based. Hence, the aspirant’s merit in the UG degree is taken into consideration. Additionally, it is also compulsory that the students meet the eligibility criteria.

BAOU accepts admission to either first or second year of the course. Those taking admission in the first year should have a UG degree. While for those taking admission in the second year, a PGD in social work after graduation from a recognised university is needed.
