Yes, a student can join Dayananda Sagar University without JEE. JEE is not required to get a seat in Dayananda Sagar University as the college does its own examination which a person needs to pass. JEE mains result does not matter to the college. In order to get admission in UG courses at DSU University, a candidate must either clear JEE, Karnataka CET, COMEDK, or Uni-GAUGE in order to avail a seat in the college through online or offline counseling after the announcement of the result of the respective entrance exams. One can also apply for the DSAT exam that is conducted by the college itself to get admission into an undergraduate course. Direct seats for DSU College can also be allotted to a candidate through management quota on 10th and 12th standard board marks.

For management quota seats, one must have a minimum of 70% in math and science subjects separately in 10th grade and a minimum of 65% in math and physics subjects separately in 12th grade. The candidate should also appear in either CET, COMEDK, or JEE Mains.

The University considers merit based eligibility, considering Class 12 aggregate or graduation aggregate along with the valid entrance exam scores. The hostel accommodation fees at DSU (Dayananda Sagar University) vary depending on the type of hostel and occupancy. For the DSU Girls Hostel with 3 occupancy, the fee is set at INR 1,20,000, along with a messing (food) fee of INR 80,000 and additional charges for laundry and a refundable hostel security deposit. The total payable per student in this case amounts to INR 2,17,500. Similarly, for the DSU Girls Hostel with 4 occupancy and the Private Boys Hostel "S Residences" with 4 occupancy, the total payable per student is INR 1,87,500. For girl students at the Nursing Hostel, the fee is lower, with INR 50,000 for 4 occupancy and INR 35,000 for 6 occupancy. In all cases, there are fixed and non-refundable components for hostel accommodation, messing (food) fees, laundry charges, and a refundable hostel security deposit.
