Everything is excellent. Placement is mediocre.

Placements: The college has low placements in our course, HSO (Honours in Sociology). The lowest package offered is 1.21 LPA. The highest package was in 2023 in 3.35 LPA. Most of the students are getting out of their jobs. Mostly in sales and marketing like Paperlink software, TCG Lifescinces, etc. But college should provide more domain-related jobs.

Infrastructure: The college's infrastructure is excellent. Wi-Fi speed is around 5–6 MBPS in the hostel. College classrooms are big and have AC in some selected classes. The hostel's food menu is very good. It includes pulao, chicken, chowmein, etc. The college arranges various events every year.

Faculty: All the non-teaching and teaching staff are very helpful and friendly. 90% of our teachers have Ph.D. degrees and good knowledge of their subjects. The semester exams are medium hard and teachers provide study materials and suggest reference books to prepare the answers.

The course fee is affordable.

Placements: Total 45% students got placements in this college. College has an actively working placements cell which is not very active for our department. The average package offered in the college is between 2 to 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies coming to our college are TCS, Infotech Solz, Media Smart, etc. Hopefully, our department will arrange a placements cell for us.

Infrastructure: Our college has average infrastructure facilities. The college provides good facilities to us. Our department has all the necessary facilities like computer lab, library, Wi-Fi, projector, etc. Hostel was available but I didn't choose it. Food in the college was not very good.

Faculty: Every professor in the college is very knowledgeable. Every teacher was encouraging and helpful. The college offers a range of extra-curricular and seminar activities to its students. The college’s passing rate was 85%. Exams are genuine and no cheating is allowed.

This college is extremely good in terms of low feels.

Placements: For my batch B.A. In sociology, the positioning scenario is quite promising. About 70% of students are successfully placed in various sectors. The highest package offered was INR 8 Lacs per annum, while the lowest was INR 3 Lacs per annum, with a package of INR 5 Lacs. Top hiring companies include Accenture, Swiggy and Amazon Customer Support. Recommended top roles are content writers, editors, language specialists and communications executive.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the university is beautiful. The buildings are well maintained. All classrooms are well lit. It has excellent campus with trees. There is free Wi-Fi facility throughout the campus. The library is both online and offline huge, and has a large collection of books. Labs are well maintained. The food served in the canteen and food court is very tasty. The university has all kinds of facilities for every student.

Faculty: Our college has many faculty members. Faculty members are well-educated, disciplined, and caring for all students at all times. They are so friendly, co-operative and helpful. Colleges are strict about exams; They conduct each class exam with much discipline.

Review of NSOU - Netaji Subhas Open Univesity.

Placements: Placement opportunities are available for MBA students. While students doing a bachelors degree in the honours subject generally tend to do the masters. The salary package offered in the MBA course ranges from 1.5-2.5 LPA. Placements in our college are not very good.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is available inside the college. The library has all books which are essential for the course. The canteen serves good food for students. Sometimes we are also provided with lunch. Our college provides a facility for a group of students to run a canteen.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are very good. They help students to study. If students have a doubt, then they go to the staff room and clear their doubts from teachers. Most of the teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is highly relevant, and it prepares students to pursue higher studies in the future.

Other: Netaji Subhas Open Univesity is a government college under the University of Calcutta.
