GATE 2026 Application Under Scrutiny: Before we begin discussing about GATE application form under scrutiny, candidates must understand what it indicates, how and when to resolve. The GATE 2026 application form is now available, and the last date is October 6 (with regular fees) and till October 9 (with late fee). During this period, you can check the GATE 2026 application status using the enrollment ID and password. 

What is the meaning of “GATE 2026 Application Under Scrutiny”?

After the submission of the application form, the GATE authorities activate the status facility at the GOAPS 2026 portal. The GATE application under scrutiny states that your application process is under the review. During this stage, the authorities will cross-check all the information provided by the candidates, such as personal, educational qualifications, photo, signature, etc. 

The verification authorities will check whether the GATE documents are uploaded as per the specifications prescribed. It must be noted that under scrutiny does not necessarily mean that your GATE 2026 registration form is rejected. It states that it is under the process of verification. 

How to Check GATE 2026 Application Form Status?

Once the form is submitted, candidates can check their GATE application status at the GOAPS 2026. The login credentials required are enrollment ID and password. Incase, there is any defect in the form, then the authorities will send a mail of your registered email ID and mobile number mentioning the issue. 

Students must submit their form in the correct format within the deadline provided. Usually, three days are provided to send the rectified GATE 2026 application form.

• Visit the GATE 2026 official website- gate2026.iitg.ac.in
• Click on the application form link and log in using your enrollment ID and password
• Click on the link where the issue is mentioned
• If there is an issue regarding the photo/signature - upload the correct one (following the specifications)
• If there is any issue, with the information provided, recheck all the details and confirm
• Go through the details and submit the GATE application form 2026. 
• If all the details are correct, then the status will be changed from “under scrutiny” to “accepted”
• Keep tracking the form status through the GATE candidate login

Is there any fee for the GATE Application Under Scrutiny?

No, candidates do not have to pay anything for resubmitting their rectified GATE application form 2026. However, fees will be charged at the time of form correction facility. This year, IIT Guwahati has revised the registration fees for all categories. Check below -

GATE 2026 Correction Facility Window Start Date

IIT Guwahati will start the GATE 2026 form correction process after the completion of the registration process. As per the official notification, the GATE 2026 form correction start date is not been updated yet. However, the last date to make changes in the application form is November 6 (as per the GATE 2026 information brochure). 

During this process -

• You can add or remove subject papers (GATE two paper combination)
• You can change your name, date of birth, exam centre, gender, etc.

The detailed information will be mentioned on the official website. To make corrections in the GATE 2026 registration form, you must pay a specific amount through netbanking, credit card or debit card.
