What is the meaning of “GATE 2026 Application Under Scrutiny”?
After the submission of the application form, the GATE authorities activate the status facility at the GOAPS 2026 portal. The GATE application under scrutiny states that your application process is under the review. During this stage, the authorities will cross-check all the information provided by the candidates, such as personal, educational qualifications, photo, signature, etc.
The verification authorities will check whether the GATE documents are uploaded as per the specifications prescribed. It must be noted that under scrutiny does not necessarily mean that your GATE 2026 registration form is rejected. It states that it is under the process of verification.
How to Check GATE 2026 Application Form Status?
Once the form is submitted, candidates can check their GATE application status at the GOAPS 2026. The login credentials required are enrollment ID and password. Incase, there is any defect in the form, then the authorities will send a mail of your registered email ID and mobile number mentioning the issue.

Is there any fee for the GATE Application Under Scrutiny?
No, candidates do not have to pay anything for resubmitting their rectified GATE application form 2026. However, fees will be charged at the time of form correction facility. This year, IIT Guwahati has revised the registration fees for all categories. Check below -

GATE 2026 Correction Facility Window Start Date
IIT Guwahati will start the GATE 2026 form correction process after the completion of the registration process. As per the official notification, the GATE 2026 form correction start date is not been updated yet. However, the last date to make changes in the application form is November 6 (as per the GATE 2026 information brochure).
During this process -
- You can add or remove subject papers (GATE two paper combination)
- You can change your name, date of birth, exam centre, gender, etc.

As such, the GATE authorities have not mentioned anything regarding the black and white or colour printout of the GATE admit card to be carried or not. But it is better to carry a colour printout of the hall ticket to the exam centre Also, the admit card of GATE must be in A4 size format.
