If there is any defect or discrepancy in the GATE photo or signature, or in documents submitted during GATE registration, then it will be notified to students on their email ID and mobile number.

What is “GATE 2027 Application Under Scrutiny”?

After submission of application form for GATE 2027, students can check their status at candidate login page. The GATE application under scrutiny states your application status. During this stage, authorities will cross-check all the information given by applicants, such as personal, educational qualifications, photo, signature, etc. 

The verification authorities will check whether the GATE documents for registration are uploaded as per the specifications prescribed. It must be noted that under scrutiny does not necessarily mean that your GATE exam form 2027 is rejected. It states that it is under the process of verification. 

What does it mean if the GATE Application Status is under Scrutiny

Under scrutiny in GATE exam form 2027 means that your form is under review and if there is any defect, it will be notified to students before the GATE 2027 registration date. 

How to Check GATE Application Form Status?

Once form is submitted, candidates can check their GATE application status at the GOAPS portal. The login credentials required are enrollment ID and password. Incase, there is any defect in the form, then the authorities will send a mail of your registered email ID and mobile number mentioning the issue. Students must submit their form in the correct format within the deadline provided. GATE Exam Form: Photo and Signature Specifications

Candidates can check GATE photo and signature guidelines below. If your GATE exam form is under scrutiny, then ensure that your documents meet the following requirements:

Must be scanned properly. The photo must be recent and colored.	The signature of the candidate must be done in black or dark blue color ink only
The dimension of photograph must be (3.5 cm width X 4.5 cm height). Candidate’s face must cover 30 to 35% of the photograph	Candidates must upload the image of the signature in JPG/JPEG format with an aspect ratio (height:width) of 1:R, where the value R can be between 2.75 and 3.75.
Background of the photo must be white	After cropping to the mentioned size, the signature must cover 70 to 80% of the space
The face in photograph must not be covered with any objects, such as cap, spectacles, sunglasses, etc.	The signature must be done by the candidate only
Photograph must be in JPEG/JPG format with minimum aspect ratio of 0.66 and maximum aspect ratio of 0.89	If the signature does not match at the exam, then the candidature can get disqualified
The maximum pixel resolution is 530 X 690 pixels and minimum resolution is 200 X 260 pixels	The maximum pixel resolution is 580 X 180 pixels and minimum resolution is 250 X 80 pixels
Maximum file size of photograph is 600 kb	The maximum file size is 300 KB

• Visit GATE 2027 official website- gate2027.iitm.ac.in
• Click on application form link and log in using your enrollment ID and password
• Click on link where issue is mentioned
• If there is an issue regarding photo/signature - upload the correct one (following the specifications)
• If there is any issue, with information provided, recheck all the details and confirm
• Go through the details and submit GATE exam form. 
• If all details are correct, then status will be changed from “under scrutiny” to “accepted”

Is there any fee for the GATE Application Under Scrutiny?

No, candidates do not have to pay anything for resubmitting their rectified GATE exam form. However, additional fees will be charged at the time of the form correction facility. This year, there is no change in GATE 2027 registration fees.
