No, GJUST admission is entirely merit-based for B.Ed course. In case, a candidate has also passed the master’s degree examination after the bachelor’s degree, the higher percentage of marks obtained either in UG or PG degree will be taken into consideration while determining the merit. However, if two or more candidates have obtained equal marks, the following procedure will be used for the preparation of their merit.

• Candidate senior in age will be given first preference
• If tie still persists, then marks obtained in Class 12 will be considered
• If tie still persists, then marks in Class 10 will be considered to break the tie

A course-wise placements report has not been released by the authorities. In the 2023 placements as per an overall report, a total of 77 companies took part and selected 330 students. A pass in Class 12 with at least 50% aggregate (47.5% aggregate for SC candidates for Haryana) is required to apply for GJUST BA (Hons) course. Candidates must hold the documents proving their eligibility for admission. Additionally, aspirants also need to qualify GJUST Entrance Test for admission to BA (Hons) course. The university releases a merit list announcing the names of the shortlisted candidates. Selected aspirants are further called for a counselling round.
