GATE Application Form Status Check at GOAPS
Candidates who have submitted their exam form can now check GATE 2027 application status at gate2027.iitm.ac.in. The registration link with late fees was made available till October 12. However, due to several requests, IIT Madras opened GATE application portal till October 16, 2026 (10:30 am). The GATE 2027 application status determines whether your form is under the review process or is accepted or is marked defect. What is GATE 2027 Application Status
The GATE application status states the current position of your application form after submission. IIT Madras had started registration for GATE 2027 as per the schedule. Candidates are advised to go through the instructions carefully. Candidates who have submitted their form early are advised to check their registered email ID. Candidates having a discrepancy in the photograph or signature will be notified separately by the authorities on their email ID. Therefore, candidates are advised to keep checking their email. Candidates whose application has been accepted will be eligible to download GATE admit card and city intimation slip.
GATE 2027 Application Status: Form Still not Under Scrutiny
Many candidates have stated that they have submitted their application a month before the GATE 2027 registration last date, yet the form status mentions "Your application is submitted and payment is received" and hasn't changed to "Under Scrutiny" mode. In such case, we advise aspirants not to panic. As the registration process has been completely revamped by implementing DigiLocker, the authorities are still reviewing the form. Also, one must also check their registered email ID, incase the defect is reflected in the form.

After submitting GATE 2027 application form, candidates will be able to check their application status. The following are the different types of GATE application statuses -

What does the GATE Application Form Under Scrutiny mean?
The GATE application form under scrutiny states that your application form is being reviewed. It’s a process of rectifying your information to verify your eligibility. The GATE authorities run a verification process, where they recheck whether all the details provided are correct.
NOTE: Candidates should not worry about this. If there is any discrepancy in the GATE registration 2027, the authorities will inform you of their registered email ID and mobile number. To make corrections, candidates will be be given three to four days.
Can I edit my GATE Application Form 2027 if it's under scrutiny?
Candidates cannot make any changes or edits if the GATE application is under the scrutinising process. In such cases, the GATE authorities will contact you personally via email or text.
Candidates must note the following -
- For any photo and signature discrepancies, GATE authorities will contact you via registered email ID or contact number
- For any other changes to be made in the form will be accessible during the GATE application form correction process
