After the submission of the GATE 2026 application form, candidates can check their application status. The following are the different types of GATE application statuses -
- Received - means the GATE authorities have received your application form successfully
- Under scrutiny - means your application is under review/verification purposes
- Accepted- means your GATE registration form is approved for admission purposes
- Application submitted- this means that your payment has not been completed
- Application submitted and payment received successfully - You have submitted your application form and made payment successfully. Next it will go to the scrutiny process.
- Under Scrutiny: Defect rectification done - Some defects were there in your application form and rectified the defects. It will go for scrutiny again.
- Your application is incomplete or defective - this means that there are some defects in your application form and rectification is not done yet.

What does the GATE 2026 Application Form Under Scrutiny mean?

There is no University-wise IISC entrance exam required for BTech course, students need to clear JEE and JEE Mains. No, candidates cannot get admission to DTU without appearing for JEE Main as the DTU BTech counselling is done through JAC Delhi. The basic criteria for admission to BTech is appearing for JEE Mains. To get into DTU, candidates must score decent marks or at least around 220 or above marks in JEE Mains. The only way to get into DTU without appearing for JEE Main is by taking a lateral entry admission to BTech second year. In order to do this, candidates must complete a Polytechnic course of two years and then appear for an entrance exam (not JEE Main but this exam will give you entry in DTU's second year.
