After the submission of the GATE 2026 application form, candidates can check their application status. The following are the different types of GATE application statuses -
- Received - means the GATE authorities have received your application form successfully
- Under scrutiny - means your application is under review/verification purposes
- Accepted- means your GATE registration form is approved for admission purposes
- Application submitted- this means that your payment has not been completed
- Application submitted and payment received successfully - You have submitted your application form and made payment successfully. Next it will go to the scrutiny process.
- Under Scrutiny: Defect rectification done - Some defects were there in your application form and rectified the defects. It will go for scrutiny again.
- Your application is incomplete or defective - this means that there are some defects in your application form and rectification is not done yet.

Yes, GATE 2026 application form correction window has started. The last date to edit is November 10 (extended). Admission to the BTech courses offered by IIT Madras are entrance-based and done on the basis of scores obtained in JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. Seats are allocated through JoSAA counselling after the results of the entrance exams are out.
