GATE cutoff for PSU

GATE Cutoff for PSU: In India, many Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) companies consider GATE scores for recruitment. Candidates who want to appear in the PSU interview have to get marks above the GATE score for PSU . Apart from this, GATE-qualified candidates can also apply for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). Candidates can check the GATE PSU Cutoff 2025 and the previous years below. IIT Roorkee released the GATE 2025 results and cutoff marks on March 19

GATE PSU cutoff for the different streams will be different. GATE (ME, EE, CE, CS, IT, Instrumentation, etc.) cutoff for PSU also varies from category to category. Without qualifying the GATE 2025 PSU Cutoff, no candidate can proceed to the interview round. However, it is important to have an idea of the GATE PSU previous year cutoff to target a score in the GATE exam.

GATE PSU Cutoff - RITES (2017, 2015)

Q:   What is the difference between the GATE qualifying and admission cutoffs?
A:

GATE qualifying cutoff is the institute eligibility cutoff, and on the other hand, the GATE admission cutoff ensures a call for admission at IITs, NITs, IITs, and CFTIs. Check below in detail:

GATE Qualifying Cutoff: It is the minimum mark a candidate must score so that he or she is eligible for admission. But this does not mean that a candidate is selected for admission. Actually, it is fixed before the announcement of GATE results. It is announced by the conducting IIT and available on GOAPS. It includes qualifying marks for each paper.

Admission GATE Cutoffs: It is the final opening and closing rank score fixed by the participating institutes for the selection of candidates. It is to be noted here that meeting the admission GATE cutoff does not mean that the candidates will be selected for admission. It is fixed after the GATE result date. It is declared by the individual participating institutes and available on their respective counselling portals (CCMT/ COAP).

Q:   Who will decide the cutoff for GATE 2025?
A:

The exam-conducting authority (IIT Roorkee) will decide the GATE cutoff 2025. It is conducted across the country jointly by IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Roorkee, and the Indian Institute for Science, Bangalore (IISC Bangalore), on a rotational basis on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB-GATE), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource & Development (MHRD), Government of India. The GATE cutoff will be released with the official result. Candidates who clear the GATE 2025 cutoff marks will be eligible for the counselling procedure. Candidates will be able to check their marks on the official website. A direct link will also be provided on our webpage once it is released. As we know, the cutoff for the GATE exam will be based on the number of students who appear in the examination, the difficulty level of the exam, the average marks scored by the maximum number of candidates, etc. Read more about the GATE 2025 Cutoff: https://www.shiksha.com/engineering/gate-exam-cutoff.

Q:   Can I get into NIT with low GATE score or GATE cutoff?
A:

Some NITs have lower cutoff scores than others, so you may get in better if you apply to less competitive NITs. It is advisable to target for certain branches or specializations that have lower demand, leading to a lower cutoff score.

Q:   When will IIT Roorkee release the GATE cutoff 2025?
A:

IIT Roorkee will release the GATE cutoff along with the announcement of results. The GATE 2025 results will be released on March 19, 2025. Candidates can access their results on the GOAPS portal using their enrollment ID and password.

Q:   Which M.Tech branches have the highest GATE cutoff?
A:

The GATE branches/subject codes that demand for the highest GATE cutoff scores are -

  • Computer Science and Information Technology
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering
Q:   Which is the most demanding branch during GATE MTech admission? What is the cutoff for that branch?
A:

GATE CSE is considered the most demanding branch in GATE M.Tech admissions. Due to high competition, the cutoff is usually high in top-ranked institutes. 80+ marks, out of 100, is the safe score in GATE computer Science and information technology. Candidates can get admissions to top IITs and NITs with this score.

Q:   What is the difference between GATE qualifying marks and admission cutoff?
A:

The difference between the GATE qualifying marks and admission cutoff is as follows -

  • Qualifying Marks: Minimum score needed to pass GATE.
  • Admission Cutoff: The score required to get into specific institutions
Q:   How to check the GATE Cut Off 2025?
A:
Candidates can check below the mentioned steps to download the GATE 2024 cutoff. - Visit the official website. - Enter the GATE 2024 login credentials. - The cutoff will appear on the screen. - Download and take a printout for future reference. The exam authorities consider some factors while determining the GATE cutoff marks. It is to be noted that the GATE 2024 cutoff marks will differ as per the category of the candidate and the course selected. It is necessary for every candidate to qualify for the GATE exam 2024 for admission. Know more about the GATE Cutoff 2024: https://www.shiksha.com/engineering/gate-exam-cutoff.

With a PwD category GATE ECE score of 397 in 2025, you have a strong chance of getting into reputable institutes like IITs, NITs, and IIITs. A score of 397 is well above the typical qualifying cutoff for PwD candidates in GATE ECE, which is around 226-232 out of 1000
