Not a big fan of the IGNOU not totally satisfied but can go for it.
Placements: IGNOU placement is not that great. They are not active. Neither they keep a track of students nor they come up with the related profile. Although its a open university but having a great value in the market they should improvise their placement cell.
Infrastructure: IGNOU study centres use to be okaish. Some times it use to have no facilities such as clean washrooms, a smart classroom, nothing but there marine office is really huge with different sections. They can improve their study centres as well but keeping the fees in the mind we can't expect much.
Faculty: There faculty members are well knowledgeable in their domain but don't know why they don't share it in a proper manner. Neither they interact with students in a proper manner. They just do it for the sake of job. I would appreciate if they can be more polite and reachable for the students.
Other: The curriculum of the course is of old study pattern which is of no use in this era. I don't know why they are not changing there pattern, curriculum, etc. Why they are not focusing on more practical knowledge.

It is not a good college for placements.
Placements: As it is an open university, no placements are provided. You have to do everything on your own. It can be approximately 50,000. You have to an internship to get a job. The teachers teach you how to get a job in any institution. They guide you on a regular basis, and they tell you the use of studies and show the right direction. They support you in every decision you make, and they are just like mentors. They show you the right path where you can go wherever you want, and the facilities are the best. I should say the professors are very calm. They will make you realise what is wrong and what is right, and they treat all the students very well.
Infrastructure: Libraries are available here, and one can study there properly. You don't have to go to the college regularly. I don't think there is a requirement for a canteen. Sports and games are organised here. Self-defense, civil defense, etc., are conducted here. One can participate in the activities, and they give you the Certificate, which you can add to your CV.
Faculty: You won't get all the information at the right time. This type of university organises various stamps like analysis and give you the training for self-defense. They provide you with a certificate. Many competitions are held here. Winners get certificates as well.
Other: It is a very good university for distance learning, and it also organises camps.

Review of IGNOU - Indira Gandhi National Open University.
Placements: Around 80% of the students get placements easily. The highest salary package offered was around 5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was about 2 LPA. Around 60% of the students got internships. Top roles offered from college are they support you in every possible manner. They guide you towards your future.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available within college premises. The speed of Wi-Fi is also fine. Labs, classrooms, and a library are regularly cleaned and maintained. The quality of food at the college is also fine. They prepare different food on different days and special food on special occasions.
Faculty: All the teachers are qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is also awesome and they will help you to clear your concepts. The course curriculum is relevant and it makes students industry-ready. Exams are quite difficult.

Our college has highly qualified teachers and staff.
Placements: About 2-3% of the students got placed by the college. The salary offered is not more than Rs. 20,000 per month. About 2 or 3 companies visit the college and are not of high-level/ Most students are unsatisfied with the placement status of the college. The placement level of this college is below average.
Infrastructure: Almost 60 % of necessary facilities are available in the college, and about 40 % of facilities out of 60 are usable. There is a hostel, but no one is living there, and there is no college canteen available. We have an area for sports, but they are using that as parking.
Faculty: All the teachers are highly qualified and helpful towards all the students, and they have huge techniques and ways for helping in understanding and learning. The exams are not so difficult if a student is taking regular classes and no one can stop him/her from getting top positions.

It is a good college for students who want to study and work at the same time.
Placements: 70 to 80% of students were placed in our course. They got placed in TCS. 80% of students got internships from our course in Tata Consultancy Services. The top role offered is HR.
Infrastructure: The regional center of IGNOU Vadodara is inside the main campus of Maharaj Sayaji Rao University of Baroda. Wi-Fi is good. I don't know much because I haven't attended any labs there till now. But students are saying that it is good. Classrooms are average. There is no library in IGNOU center, but a library is available in MSU, and we can use it too.
Faculty: The teachers are very good and helpful. Professors are well-educated from top colleges. The teaching quality is good. During the Covid-19 pandemic, online classes are conducted, and teachers adapted to that, and that is very good. I'm pursuing B.Sc. chemistry here. After completing the degree, I can easily join any pharma company, and due to the pandemic, the pharma companies need more employees. In this era, pharma companies are going very well. From my point of view, the course curriculum makes students industry-ready.
Other: I chose this course because it's easy to find a job after completing this. Due to Covid, I haven't gained any practical experience in labs, so I wish I can get that from now onwards. As IGNOU is meant to be open-schooling, so there are no extracurricular activities and events.

I think, instead of BA in tourism, you should go for MBA which has more scope, and as compared to BA and also high salary packages are offered in top B-Schools. if you wish to work in Mid Management Level, otherwise BA is also good, but you will have to study for more 3 years .
Answered 6 years ago
