I am satisfied with my college majorly due to the amazing campus life and fests.
Placements: The placement is quite average in our branch but companies like BPCL and HPCL visit our college for recruitment. Less number of students got internships and that too in software side, core internships are less as compared to software internships. But placement is quite good.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure at our college is amazing. Hostels have study rooms, gym, and mess with AC. We have a central gym on our campus, a sports complex, and other sports facilities. Sports such as football, volleyball, and hockey are played and we have coaches who train students.
Faculty: Professors are highly educated and knowledgeable. In my department, majorly there are senior professors. We have mid-term exams and then end-term exams. These exams are quite tough. The attendance also matter as attendance marks are also added.
Other: My college is known for civil engineering. We have so many fests and events at our college like Thomso, Cogni, etc.

I'm satisfied with my college because everything is good until you don't try something to do.
Placements: I'm from the 2022-2026 batch (metallurgy department). Here in the first session of placements, only 18 students got placed (on campus). Out of 73 which means it's a very less compared to other branches and everyone is trying to get an IT job not looking for a core job which makes it difficult to get core companies.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is pretty good, as you expect this is an IIT, so the hostel facility and food are good. Especially, classrooms are very beautiful, and in our college, we have high-speed Wi-Fi. Library is very huge it contains a lot of books, if you are doing research it is the best place.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful but students don't utilize them properly because lot of trying to get an IT job. So majority is not interested in the core to interact with professors. Curriculum is very smooth and good. It is perfectly maintained. Semester exams are easy and tough depends on the professor handling it.
Other: Here in our college fests are done twice a year and some small fests are always going on. It's a good place to get a healthy connectivity with friends and professors.

IIT Roorkee Electrical Engineering student review.
Placements: Out of 174 students, nearly 100 get placed every year. This information was not provided to us. Companies such as Google Silicon Engineering, Jaguar, and PWC recruit from our batch. Around 60% of students are placed in companies like Google Silicon Engineering, Jaguar, PWC, Myntra, etc. The average salary package offered for an electrical engineering student is about 20 LPA.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is provided separately in both hostel and classrooms. In labs, we are provided with good and well-maintained equipment. Classrooms are also monitored regularly. Library is well-maintained and has good security. In hostel, conditions are a bit uncomfortable, especially in summer, as there is a lot of suffocation and no air conditioning. However, other aspects of the hostel are better. Mess provides good-quality food, but it is more comfortable for South Indian students, with only a few items being good in taste. However, fruits and other services in mess are good in the afternoon. Medical facilities are free and offer a quick response depending on the issue. Sports are also encouraged, with many events held that offer prize money, inter-IIT competitions, and an event called 'Sangram' that was recently held.
Faculty: For this particular course, need to work consistently, and shouldn't slack off for even one day. This course offers more flexibility, choose whatever path they want after graduation. It doesn't just stick to core subjects but allows to explore different career paths. Exams are a little tough, but they are manageable if stay on track continuously. Students should spend a lot of time in lab sessions and practicals. Overall, the course is good, useful, and provides a new experience.

I am very satisfied with the college.
Placements: In the electrical engineering program for the 2025 batch, 131 out of 170 students received job offers. The highest salary package was 60 LPA, while the lowest was 10 LPA. Leading companies that recruited students include Graviton, Microsoft, Amazon, Texas Instruments, Google, and many others. Additionally, 88 out of 172 students secured internships with companies such as Texas Instruments, Google, Amazon, and Deutsche Bank. The top roles offered were software development engineer and data analyst.
Infrastructure: Departments are well-equipped with all the instruments and necessary facilities. Everything is ventilated and Wi-Fi is available 24/7. The library is one of the biggest libraries present in North India. Food quality is also decent. Free basic medical facilities are there. Immense exposure to sports and games.
Faculty: Teachers are excellent in their respective fields. Most of them are research-oriented. Courses are designed in a way that creates interest. Semester exams are difficult but passing them is not a tough job since grading is relatively easy. The curriculum is well-designed.
Other: I chose this because I had an interest in it. It can be made more practical rather than relying on theoretical knowledge. Events and fiesta are famous examples of Thomson and Cognizance. There are several scholarships that colleges and alums provide.

Good campus life and opportunities.
Placements: Around 65% of students get on-campus placements and many others get off-campus placements. In my course, placements range from 8 LPA to 40 LPA. L&T and Shapoorji Pallonji are major recruiters. Only 8 out of 151 (5.3%) got on-campus internships. On-ground engineer and field consultant are the main roles offered.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi speed is good, labs have enough instruments available for experiments. Library is huge and contains more than enough number of books. Classrooms have enough facilities. Hostels provide average quality food, and washrooms are good. Canteens are sufficient good. Medical facilities are good. They provide 70% of your expenses. Sports facilities are great. NSO clubs and coaches or each game are available.
Faculty: Some professors are good and helpful while others are rude, and provide good grades. For the 2027 batch, the curriculum has been upgraded and is more relevant than previous batches. Semester exams are extremely difficult and even average marks are difficult to get.
Other: I chose civil engineering because it was the best option available. Geospatial and structural engineering are available. The departments are good. Civil engineering department at IITR is reputed so our reputation is good when we go for any on-field activity. I wish better computer and AI facilities are here. The course should have more AI-related courses.

Review of IIT Roorkee - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: Placements are overall good, only in the please one of placement 50% of students get placed and we expect a 75% overall placement till phase 2. Various good companies, like Microsoft, Google, and Squarepoint came for placement. Even for interns various good companies have visited the campus and selected various students.
Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure of the campus is really good. We have various hostels with no time restrictions, and proper safety, which make the girls explore and develop freely and feel nature. Also, as the number of students is increasing, new hostels are built on a new architecture which makes us feel good.
Faculty: Exams are taken so seriously that u will completely check that you have not brought any cheats also, most of the professors make the questions at an advanced level, which makes us think out of the box. Professors give marks based on your creative thinking.
