IIT Roorkee Admission 2026: Cutoff, Fees, Eligibility & Selection

Yes, at the research level, IIT Roorkee offers a PhD programme in both full-time and part-time modes across the streams of Science, Engineering & Technology, Management Studies, and Architecture & Planning. Yes, IIT Roorkee offers an MBA programme under the department of Management. The eligibility criteria to get admission to IIT Roorkee MBA course are mentioned below:

The tuition fee waiver / concession in IITs and NITs are as follows:

For GEN and OBC students having annual family income less than Rs. 1 Lacs and all SC, ST & PwD students: 100% tuition fee waiver. Only fee in other heads like exam fee, hostel and mess fee, gymkhana fee, etc., need to be paid.

For GEN and OBC students having annual family income between Rs. 1 Lacs and Rs. 5 lakh: 2/3rd waiver in tuition fee. Only 33.33% of tuition fee need to be paid.

For GEN and OBC students having annual family income above Rs. 5 Lacs or those students who are not desirous of obtaining fee waiver or have not submitted income certificate: Full tuition fee need to be paid.

CAT exam usually takes place in the month of November. The registration usually begins from August and the last date of application is until September.

MBA is the flagship programme of DOMS IIT Roorkee. Candidates need to meet both eligibility and selection requirements to get admission. The MBA admission process at DOMS IIT Roorkee is as under:

• Candidates must apply for CAT by the last date
• On clearing the required CAT cutoff, candidates are called the for PI round
• Final selection is done on the basis of the final cumulative score, which takes into account past academic record, performance in PI and work experience (if any)

No, to get admission at IIT Roorkee for the MBA/PGDM course, students have to first attempt the CAT entrance examination and attain a valid percentile. Those students who clear the cutoff are then eligible to move to the second round of admission, which involves PI (Personal Interview). 

Students who clear both these stages are then eligible for admission to the management course offered at IIT Roorkee. According to the previous years' estimated IIT Roorkee MBA cutoff 2025, the required percentile was 95 for the General AI category.

IIT Roorkee BTech cutoff 2026 for the General AI category ranged from 582 for BTech CSE to 8735 for BTech Biosciences and Bioengineering. Candidates can check the table below to know the IIT Roorkee branch-wise cutoff 2026.

OBC AI category ranged from 312 to 7464 in the last round for the OBC category under the All India quota. For BTech CSE and AI and DS, the highest acceptable ranks were 312 and 433, respectively. Hence, a rank of 300 might be good enough to be eligible for admission to the above-mentioned programmes. 

A rank of at least 849 is required for students in the General AI category to gain admission to the MSc in Economics course. The highest rank for other categories, is given in the table below.

IIT Roorkee MSc cutoff 2026 ranged from 126 to 904 in the first round for the OBC AI category. By the last round, the closing rank ranged from 158 to 1118.
