IIT Roorkee college life.
Placements: About 70-80% got placed, and some are going abroad for higher studies. 7-8 are going to IIMs, and others are preparing for GATE. The highest package is around 55 LPA, offered by Zomato and Microsoft. The lowest is 8 LPA, and the average package is 14 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Zomato, Sprinklr, JP Morgan, Reliance, Axxela, Future First, Sun Petro, etc. Around 60% of students got internships on campus, while others have done off-campus as everyone has to do an internship in the third year. Top roles offered include software developer, quant, machine learning engineer, data analyst, chemical engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is good, and all classrooms have AC and projectors. The whole campus has Wi-Fi availability. There is one central library where anyone can go anytime to study. You can get any book; if not available in the library, they will order it for you. Labs are good; they have very costly equipment and machinery. In the hostel, you will be given a separate room. Every hostel has an attached mess. Every room has a fan, chair, table, and bed. In the mess, you get breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30. After breakfast, you get lunch around 12:30 to 2:30 and dinner from 7:30 to 9:30. All mess workers are very friendly; you have to take the food by yourself. There is an institute hospital where you can go anytime for treatment. There are four large grounds, and every hostel has a gym and indoor games facilities. There is one central gym and a student club for indoor games. There is a swimming pool where you can learn to swim if you don't know how; they will train you.
Faculty: The teaching quality is the best. All teachers have done their Ph.D. or Masters from foreign universities; they all are well qualified. They are very helpful and friendly. The course curriculum is relevant to making you a chemical engineer; you will become industry-ready after a core internship. Semester exams are average; they do relative grading, which makes it easier for students to get good grades. Minimum marks depend on the teacher; some may have 20% or 30%.
Other: I chose this college because I got it according to my score. The course is good if you want to build a career in chemical engineering. There is one cultural fest once a year called Thomso, which is Asia's largest cultural fest. It is a three-day event full of enjoyment and different activities.

The best life experience at IIT Roorkee.
Placements: There are 1600 students in our batch and from that, only 800,000 have been placed till now. The highest package is 1.5 crores, the lowest is 6 lakhs, and the average package is 25 lakhs. The top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Flipkart, etc. Also, like placements, only 50% of student got internships in many big and small companies. The top roles offered in our course are software development engineering, hardware engineering, data science, and data analysis.
Infrastructure: Fully air-conditioned lecture halls and library access to Wi-Fi also consist of smartboards, projectors, etc. The hostel rooms are quite good, having a study table, a chair, a tea table, a bed, cupboard, all basic amenities, access to high-speed internet, games a tv room and also a gym in the hostel. Mess food is the worst but canteen food is better than mess and canteen food is quite affordable. A hospital is on the campus. All types of games facilities are available in campus, e.g., cricket, football, hockey, basketball, squash, etc.
Faculty: Teachers are quite helpful and good but not all the teachers are helpful; some are very rude. But all the teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is decent. This course curriculum is very relevant to real-world problems as it has many practical subjects that give hands-on experience with real-world applications. Semester exams are quite difficult but you can prepare for them just one or two days before the exam, even if you have not attended the classes. Almost more than 90% of students were able to pass the exams easily.
Other: I chose Electrical because I have interest in this field. The best thing about this course is that it have many practical subjects which give hands-on experience of real-world applications. The things I wish would be better/improved about my course are that the behavior of some professors need to be improved and the placement cell also needs to be improved. There are 2 events held in a year: one is thomso, which is a cultural festival held in mid-October, and the other is cognizance, which is a technical festival held in March. The campus crowd is very good; people are helping and decent Also, the campus is very beautiful, like heaven There is availability and scope of all extra curricular activities. There are merit-cum scholarships there and based on the criteria, a student is selected.

Nice college with all the facilities.
Placements: The percentage of students placed is 69%. The highest package is 26 LPA, and the lowest package is 2.7 LPA for freshers. Companies such as Information Teach, IBM, Infosys, and more recruit from our course. The course offers internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure in the department are well-designed. Wi-Fi facilities connect labs and classrooms. The library has a wide range of books. The canteen serves Chinese, North Indian, and South Indian cuisine, providing the best food.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful in teaching all concepts, with 5 to 15 years of experience. They teach well, and the course is relevant, making students industry-ready and providing hands-on experience. However, semester exams are challenging to pass.

Honest review on IIT Roorkee.
Placements: Total of 160+ companies visited. The average package is 18 Lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies are Japan Accenture Ltd, CISCO, JP Morgan, Bank of America, Amazon, American Express, etc. Students were placed in core fields, finance, management, and data Science, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are good for my course. The course structure for every semester is good. My course is very much related to Biology so in the first semester, there are basic Biology courses which help the students to get interested in the core fields. The old hostels of IIT Roorkee are so bad. And the mess food quality and taste are not good. Also, some canteens' conditions are also very terrible. IIT Roorkee's medical and sports facilities are good.
Faculty: All the teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality of Professors is so good. The course curriculum is relevant to the course. The whole syllabus is relevant to the core fields. It also has a disadvantage that if the student is not interested in core fields, it will be hectic for him/her. The semester exams' difficulty depends on the subject and professor. Some subjects are easy to score, and some subjects are so difficult to pass. And the pass percentage depends on the number of batch students and how they score. Because there is a relevant grading system.
Other: The best thing about my course is the batch size of my course is small compared to the other branches. So it is easy to score well in my course if you study well. The campus is so beautiful, and the main attraction of the campus is the 'Thomson Building'. The scholarships' names are free messing, fee waiver, and MCM, etc. The teach fest name is Cognizance, and the cultural fest name is Thomso.

Great college with awesome campus life, excellent exposure and career opportunities.
Placements: I am enrolled in ECE (B.Tech). There are about 120 students in this course each year with a placement percentage of 90%. The highest package offered this year is 90 LPA and the lowest is 10 LPA with an average package of 28 LPA. There are many companies which recruits ECE students like Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, Micron Limited, Quantbox, Quadai, Idea, Net, Oracle and many more. About 70% of students get internships from ECE and the top roles offered are SDE, Product manager, hardware manager, and consultant.
Infrastructure: The ECE department is very well-equipped with labs having the newest machinery and tools. 2 study rooms and high-speed WI-FI. For the hostel, I would say it is average. We have been given a single room with a cupboard, study table, Bed and fan. I don’t like the mess food too much as it lacks taste and variety.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful. They have high expertise in their subjects and most of them are post-doctorate from foreign universities and hence their teaching quality is also very good. About the course, I would say that most of it is relevant and meets the industry standards but there is some portion which is outdated and needs to be improved. Semester exams are of good level but if you have regularly attended classes and solve tutorials then you will do good in exams. The pass percentage is 90%.
Other: I chose this course as I am interested in semiconductors and chips and ECE offers me a great opportunity to pursue my interest. The best thing about this course is that it is very well structured with a proper syllabus, theory and practical’s. I wish there would be more industrial trips so that we would get to know about real-world problems in more detail.
