Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) at Directorate of Distance Education Highlights
- As per the Right to Education (RTE) Act, to get appointed as a teacher in any school in India, a candidate must pass the Teacher Eligiblity Test (TET)/ Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) exam, conducted by the appropriate Government according to the guidelines framed by NCTE.

Students with at least 50% marks and 45% for SC/ST learners in bachelors degree (10+2+3 pattern) OR bachelors in engineering or technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification similar to that are eligible for admission to the programme.
- Minimum: 24 months
- A candidate who have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience either at a stretch or in parts at the time of submission of the application form for admission. The experience/service certificate has to be countersigned by the competent authority concerned.
Applicants with any one of the following qualifications are also eligible to apply: Master’s Degree in Science/ Social Science/ Humanity are also eligible for admission to the programme Those who are serving as full time teachers in the recognized schools (primary/secondary/Higher secondary levels), within the territorial jurisdiction of the University of Jammu Those who have a minimum of two years of teaching experience in a recognized School (Primary/Secondary/Higher secondary levels) either at a stretch or in parts at the time of submission of the application form for admission First preference will be given to the candidates who have completed Diploma in Education/ Diploma in Elementary Education/ who are trained in service teachers in elementary Education.
