Special Schools have different and unique ways of educating students by which they can grasp what is being taught easily.Â
Some normal schools also dedicate extra time for their students where they have counseling sessions where they can understand if any student is differently-abled and needs help.Â
At present, there are about 3000 special schools for disabled kids across the country. 900 institutions are for the hearing impaired children, about 400 are for the visually impaired, 1000 schools are for the mentally retarded and the remaining 700 schools are for children with other types of disabilities. Syllabus for Special Education
The syllabus for children with special needs is designed in a way that the students learn and understand the topics easily. The goals of education are the same for all students irrespective of their impairments. This makes the students equal to other students. Individual attention is given to each student with special needs in order to recognize his or her weak points and strengths and then working on them to develop the student.
The students are taught and assessed using different methods although the syllabus for special education remains the same. Special education involves activities and new techniques for teaching.
