Pre Primary & Primary School

To be able to teach someone is considered as a noble profession. Teaching is especially hard when it comes to young children. Handling older children at the college or university level would be still easier but with children in the pre-primary or primary school level, much caution is required. Today, colleges and universities have special degrees, diplomas and certifications to aspirants with special skills to teach young children. There is also a postgraduate degree offered by the SIES Institute of Comprehensive Education, which is PGD in Early Childhood Education. These are highly employable professional diplomas which aspirants will secure high paying jobs on graduation. The duration of these programmes ranges from 6 months to 1 year. 

Pre-Primary and Primary School Education Eligibility

• Education: The only educational eligibility criteria for diploma and certification courses of early childhood is that the candidate needs to have passed 10+2 level examinations successfully. Having a graduate degree is not necessary. However, for the graduate degree, having a bachelor’s degree is a must.
• Work Experience: Some diploma and certification courses require the applicant to have prior work experience. Having prior experience will be an added advantage when applying for the course.
• Age limit: There is no age limit to study for any diploma and certification courses in early childhood. There is also no minimum age set but as per education eligibility criteria, applicants need to be at least 18 years of age.

Admission Process

The admission process to study any course is simple. Most universities do not require applicants to submit an admission entrance exam score. Applicants are judged on their 10+2 level exam marks and also on their resume if there is any prior work experience. 

Most universities allow applicants to start the admission process online. Applicants can visit the university’s website to read the course requirements and also apply using the university’s application portal. Documents can also be uploaded online. Since most programmes for pre-primary and primary school education are delivered online, applying online is helpful. The master’s program, is a full-time program, applying offline is also possible.

Placements

Since most programmes are diplomas and certifications, the university does not hold placement drives, However, they do offer training of interview skills for applicants. Some institutes also help connect the graduates with openings at schools. The programmes are highly employable and most students are picked up quickly once they graduate. Job openings are advertised regularly online that applicants can look at.
