Applicants who have finished their class 12th from a recognised board of education with a minimum of 50% aggregate score can apply for admission to a Primary Teacher Training course.
You can find the basic eligibility for different ECCE courses given here –
- You must complete Class 10 or 12 from a recognized board for studying diploma or certificate courses.
- You must complete Class 12 with a minimum percentage. Some colleges can ask for subjects like Biology or Psychology for UG admissions.
- Bachelors degree in Education or a related field for PG admissions.
The eligibility for the admission in B.Ed is minimum to have a graduation degree with at least 50% marks for a general candidate, whereas 47.5% is required in case of SC, ST and OBC candidates. The good thing is, candidates who don't have 50% marks in their graduation degree, can also pursue B.Ed course after completing their master degree - however, the requirement is again 50% marks in graduation.
The candidates should also clear one of the top B.Ed entrance exams meant for their chosen college. It should be noted that after completing B Ed, candidates also need to appear for Teacher Eligibility Tests (TETs) if they wish to be recruited as teachers in government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) and Sarvodaya Vidyalayas (SVs).
The B.Ed admission procedure is very simple and straight forward. Most of the universities have online application forms these days. As soon as you fill the application form, you will be asked to pay the online application registration fee (application processing fee) which is a part of the course fee.
