- As per the Right to Education (RTE) Act, to get appointed as a teacher in any school in India, a candidate must pass the Teacher Eligiblity Test (TET)/ Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) exam, conducted by the appropriate Government according to the guidelines framed by NCTE.

Eligibility criteria
(a) Upper Primary and Secondary school teachers who are in service as
full time teacher for at least two years at the time of making application
and who shall continue to be in service during the entire duration of the
Programme.
(b) The applicants with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor Degree
and be in the Postgraduate Degree in Sciences/Humanities/Social
Sciences or Bachelor degree in Engineering or Technology with
background /specialization in Science and Mathematics with 50% marks
or any other qualification equivalent thereto are eligible for admission.
