IIT Patna M.Tech honest college review.

Placements: Placements at the institute are the perfect definition of it. Students generally become eligible for placement from the fourth semester. Around 300 recruiters participate, including top domestic as well as foreign companies. The average package for the M.Tech programme is 16 LPA, and the highest package offered is 1 CPA. The top recruiters in the drive include Microsoft, Oracle, Goldman Sachs, ICICI, Tata, and HCL. Almost 100 percent of students got placed. I plan to work after my graduation.

Infrastructure: Hostel rooms are good in all aspects. 24 hour electricity is provided, and an emergency generator facility is available. The hostel is neat and clean. Sweepers come regularly to clean the dirty areas, and rooms are properly cleaned every weekend. The mess maintains good quality food.

Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified. Most of them did their PhD. from IITs or other reputed colleges in other countries. The first year curriculum is a slight mixture of all subjects and makes students industry ready in other ways. Semester exams are not difficult. The batch size is approximately 150, of which 15 are branch changes.

Comparing IIT Patna with other IITs.

Placements: The placement here is not that good if you compare it with other reputed colleges, even though it comes with the IIT tag, it does not fulfill it. I can say placements are just good, but not top-notch. Students get internships here, but the number is low.

Infrastructure: The hostel is good if I compare it with other colleges, many IITs have average or just the worst hostel, but here the infrastructure is good, the buildings are new. Mess is also good, but not that good, you can't expect so much from them. Some lifts are not working all the time in hostels.

Faculty: Faculty members are good here, not that strict but not so much lenient. Some give free attendance, but some are so strict that they do not even allow attendance after 5 minutes in the class. Faculty members are well-established in their field. Everybody is from IITs, and they have researched a lot.

Other: Fests are also good here if we compare to other 2nd-gen IITs.

Placements: Approximately 60-70 percent of students are placed. Average salary is 7 LPA. The highest salary is 15 LPA. The B.Sc. program includes a mandatory summer industry project for the fourth semester. Top roles offered are software development engineer, data analyst, and data scientist.

Infrastructure: As we have campus immersion every 6 months for 10-15 days, we have the best facilities, hostel, mess, complete access to library, classrooms, gymkhana, and everything. We have a daily workshop in our college in which a teacher comes to guide us for our future.

Faculty: All subject teachers are well qualified and have appropriate knowledge. They guide us to upgrade our skills. The course is also easy and makes us capable of competing in the industry. We have a marking system based on assessment, quizzes, and end semester exams.

Other: The best thing about the course is that it is hybrid as we can get extra skills and college work consecutively. One thing that I want to improve in my course is that the final year is completely offline classes so that students can get extra knowledge and social exposure.

My review of the IIT Patna.

Placements: Placement for the first batch of scores happens in 2026, so clearly mentioning some record about the placement is a big challenge. Right now, they have created a WhatsApp group for career and placement for hybrid students, where they constantly give a link.

Infrastructure: In the friendships structure, it is good for other IITs. It has 516 students and a big campus, but BS students cannot get hostel facilities. If you want hostel facilities, you can contact the IIT administration, who can allot you a hostel with all facilities like a gym and a khana.

Faculty: IIT Patna is located on its permanent campus, Beta. It has well-developed infection for both academic pursuits and student residential life, the institutional lecture hall and editorial building, each department has a BS student with a very high per month 14000 speed Wi-Fi, water purified and regular.
