CBSE Class 12 Compartment Exam 2026: Admit Card (OUT), Exam Date, Exam Pattern & Syllabus

CBSE released the CBSE 12th sample papers 2026 on the official website- cbseacademic.nic.in. You can download CBSE Class 12 sample question papers 2026 from the official website or from this page too. Students must solve and practice the CBSE 12th question papers of previous years' to know the marking scheme, the types of questions asked in the exam, gauge the difficulty level and more.

In the Accountancy subject, the CBSE Board has decided to do away with the answer books wherein tables were provided for the subject of Accountancy.

 The exam pattern shares the marking scheme, weightage to every topic, duration of exam and more. Students must know the CBSE exam pattern as this helps them form a strategy and to decide which question to solve first.

Just ensure that while attempting your CBSE board exam that you have attempted all the question with a question number written in such a way that examiner can see it properly. If you are not satisfied with the marks, you can apply for revaluation or rechecking of the paper. The marks awarded after the rechecking/revaluation shall be considered as the final marks. Then a new marksheet will be issued to you thereafter. 

CBSE 12th marking scheme for is such that 80 marks are allotted for Theory and 20 marks for Internal Assessment. The marking scheme for Science subjects have 70 marks and 30 for practicals.

The qualifying marks in each subject of external examination is 33%. The grading system is given below.

A-1 Top 1/8th of the passed candidates

A-2 Next 1/8th of the passed candidates

B-1 Next 1/8th of the passed candidates

B-2 Next 1/8th of the passed candidates

C-1 Next 1/8th of the passed candidates

C-2 Next 1/8th of the passed candidates

D-1 Next 1/8th of the passed candidates

D-2 Next 1/8th of the passed candidates

E Failed candidates

The latest CBSE exam pattern 2026 for class 12 comprises competency-based questions (MCQs, case-based, source-based questions, etc.), which carry 40% weightage. The Multiple choice questions (MCQs) carry 20% weightage and short/answer type questions carry 40% weightage.

Students must ensure to solve atleast one previous year CBSE 12th Mathematics question paper every day to efficiently prepare for the CBSE 12th Mathematics board exam. Make sure to practice the question papers during the last month of the preparation.
