The cutoff trend for BTech at IIT Patna has been decreasing in the recent years. In 2025, the closing rank for BTech under general category for all India quota was 16510. In 2026, it decreased to 17179.

Candidates need to apply online for JEE Main for BTech admission at IIT Patna. Students need to fill out the form for JEE (Main) through the website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) (nta.ac.in). The application fee for boys is INR 1,000 and INR 800 for girls.

IIT Patna offers BTech, MTech, MSc, and PhD programmes through its 10 departments. IIT Patna offers four-year BTech programmes at the undergraduate level in 11 specialisations.
