B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2028
3.8
4Placements4Infrastructure3Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Number 1 college in Delhi for fest and for enjoying college life, but also very strict in academics.
Placements: 75% of students got placed from my college, 81 LPA is the highest package offered by the company in the electrical branch and the lowest is LPA 3 to 4 LPA. Apple is the top recruiting company. 15% to 20% got internship offers. I cannot say the top roles in it. Very student-to-student.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good, but facilities are okay. I am day scholar, so I can not say anything about the hostel, but the DTU hostel is not good in terms of facilities and hygiene. The sports complex is good. Mess food is not good, and the new APJ hostel is very good in terms of hygiene and also good facilities but this hostel is only for 4th year students.
Faculty: Teachers are very good, the course curriculum is decent but the new passing criterion is the worst for electrical students. Exams are a decent medium level. 35% is the passing criteria. Overall, the electrical branch is good but a little tough. DTU has very good teachers. Labs and lab assistants, but students are very rude.
Other: Score well in JEE Main or have an SC certificate for admission in DTU, preferred CSE branch. Fest is very good. Scholarship is limited, and college fees are very high.

B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2028

It is the best college in Delhi. I would recommend joining this college.
Placements: The placement rate for students in mechanical engineering at Delhi Technological University is about 70% as of 2024. The highest package offered is around 35 LPA on campus, and the lowest is about 11 LPA. Top recruiting companies include top global firms like is, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, and TCS.
Infrastructure: There is a constant network of Wi-Fi at Delhi Technology University in the library. The library is very well developed and has almost every book that needs to be there. Classrooms are well maintained, and cleaned at regular intervals. The hostel has a gym. The gym is available for everyone.
Faculty: Teachers at Delhi Technological University are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They are very helpful. The teaching quality is among the best in the Delhi Technological University. The course curriculum is relevant to daily life and prepares students to join any industry they choose. Although semester exams can be quite tough, students who study for about a month can usually achieve a good CGPA.
Other: I am pursuing a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering at Delhi Technological University (DTU). DTU is one of India's leading engineering institutions, with mechanical engineering being one of its most reputable and central branches. I chose mechanical engineering because it forms the foundation of all engineering disciplines. I have always been fascinated by machines, design, thermodynamics, and how theoretical principles are applied to solve real-world m al problems.

Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) - Batch of 2025

The okayish college for design
Placements: For our batch, the placements are not good at all. It is very different from what is being advertised on public platforms and should not be taken for reference. But the situation might get better as my juniors are getting much better opportunities on campus than we got for our batch.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure, even after constant construction throughout my duration in college, is not good. On the surface, it might look good, but they lack the bare minimum stuff for it to be considered a good design college in the first place. They spend a lot of money on departments that were never required.
Faculty: Exams here are just formality; the main weightage is given to your big project of the semester for each of the subjects. That will be considered as the priority for the subject. But with a few exceptions, both the faculty and the curriculum are not that good.
Other: The campus life and your peers are where you'll get most of your learnings from. Just do not rely on the teachers in hopes that they will teach something good.

It is worth taking admission. Faculty is very kind.
Placements: Sometimes, it does not depend on having strong academics. An average student can also crack the interview and grab the placement with their skills and knowledge. Students having 8.0 or 7.8 CGPA get placed. While sometimes, even a 9 CGPA student does not. Top companies like BIS, Birla, Asian Paints, and Aakash Institute come for recruitment as well as internships, offering good high packages.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good. Labs have proper maintenance of all instruments. The environment is neat and clean. Smart classes and Wi-Fi facilities are available. The library is fully AC with the best seating arrangement. At every 2-minute walk, there are canteens and stalls for food, water, juice, cold drinks, Mother Dairy, and fruit corners.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified, helpful, and very nice. They are always ready to help whenever you have any doubts, and you can clear your queries easily. The curriculum is in a sophisticated manner. If your presence of mind is in class, what the teacher teaches is clear to you, and you listen carefully. Then, semester exams are not too tough.
Other: Every course is worth taking admission to. It depends on your future goals and what you want to adapt to. I love learning Chemistry as it is applied in our daily life, so I take it and am very much obsessed with the teachers here, the curriculum here, and most importantly, our batch. All students are nice, friendly, and educated. I enjoyed a lot in my two-year course, and it proved to be worth taking admission to DTU.

If your CG is good then you are good.
Placements: I am 2nd year student by asking our seniors. The placement is very low right now. But after two years placement should be good and the CG you have to maintain. All matter is CG. If your CG is good then you get easily placed. Everybody knows right now tech branches are killing but if you are good at mathematics choose mathematics and computing engineering.
Infrastructure: 1st year students' hostel is the worst. I suggest taking PG, and per month Rs 2,000 - Rs 3,000 difference. When you come in 2nd year fill hostel form and hostel food is the worst part you have to adjust. In college, there is Wi-Fi but it is just a Wi-Fi without network.
Faculty: Teachers are good but no one attends lectures so you have to study on your own. You have to study not daily not weekly just one or two weeks before exams. Core subject makes you industry-ready but you have to prepare yourself for teaching. I suggest joining tech society and participating in a hackathon.
Other: DTU is known for its fest. Every month have small fests and 3 big fests.

B.Tech. in Biotechnology - Batch of 2026

3Placements3Infrastructure3Faculty2Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
The campus is good. The salary packages are lower in core branches.
Placements: The placement options for core branches are average to low, while the campus environment is decent but sometimes overcrowded. There are a lot of faculty members, and the academic workload is relatively easy. However, very few students secure on-campus internships in biotech; those in technical branches have better chances of landing roles as software development engineers (SDEs), analysts, or consultants, with limited opportunities in core roles.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi connectivity is unreliable, and the labs in my department are either average or below par. The classrooms are generally in poor condition, except for the AB building. The food spots are excellent, sports facilities are adequate, and the hostel accommodations are good, though the mess is not up to the mark. The library is small and often overcrowded, but the available books are satisfactory. Air conditioning works well, but the Wi-Fi issues persist.
Faculty: Most instructors are Ph.D. holders, and the teaching mainly focuses on theory, particularly in core branches. The theoretical approach does not adequately prepare students for the industry, necessitating additional learning outside the curriculum. Semester exams tend to be average in difficulty—not too easy, but not overly challenging either. The passing percentage is around 33% to 35%, and the grading system follows a CGPA format.

DTU ranked 29 under the 'Engineering' category by the NIRF 2023. There are many IITs ranked before DTU under the same category. Also, it competes against the top-notch NITs and second-phase IITs in several specialisations of BTech. Hence, it is safe to say that DTU is as good as an IIT or an NIT in northern India. In fact, The Times Rankings 2022 ranked DTU number 1 in the Delhi NCR region for 'Engineering' category.

A:
Usually, the cutoff for DTU stays around 90, even for the reserved categories. Therefore, getting into B.Tech courses at DTU is difficult with a JEE Main percentile score of 90 or below. Therefore, it is very difficult to predict the exact cutoff and give an exact answer to this question.
