B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering (Automotive Engineering) - Batch of 2028

It's good if you just care for the DTU tag, but not for coding placements.
Placements: For the Mechanical with Automotive Engineering Batch, the placement percentage is not very good, around 60-70%. The highest package is around 18 LPA, and the lowest is around 4 LPA. Top recruiters include Tata and Bajaj, with similar percentages and companies for internships. The top roles offered are in design and development within the automotive sector.
Infrastructure: College facilities and infrastructure are good. As first-year students, we are in SPS classes, but with time, it gets better, the same applies to hostels. The mess food and the library are good, no doubt. The classrooms are okay, though in the AB building, they are very good, and sports are good.
Faculty: Teachers are good too. You need to pay attention in class, though, who knows, they might take a hard exam. Some may be okay, but don't make an enemy out of them. Start studying at least a week before. In the first year, they teach everything, with core subjects starting from the second semester.
Other: It's a top Government College, and while it's not a coding course, it may be good for someone interested in cars. The result could come faster, but everything else is good, and the fests and all are good.

It has a good infrastructure and supportive faculty. It should improve the curriculum.
Placements: Around 52% of students got placed in 2025 from the mechanical branch. The highest package is 36 LPA and the lowest package offered ranges from 7-8 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Escort and Maruti Suzuki. The top roles offered are mechanical design engineer, thermal system engineer, etc. I don't know about the percentage of students who get internships.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are spacious and equipped with smart boards and projectors. However, Wi-Fi is only available for labs and the library. Overall, the library is a comfortable and focused environment. Hostel rooms are old but clean and well-ventilated. The mess food for 1st year is not good. Sometimes, I have to skip the mess food. I would rate 5 out of 10. But we can buy food from the canteen (Raj Soin). It made good food. Sports facilities are good, and we can go to sports complex which has a good infrastructure with good lighting as well.
Faculty: Many teachers are helpful, approachable, and have good qualifications. They are knowledgeable. They are willing to assist students outside of class as well. The course curriculum is fairly relevant and covers the essential subjects needed for industry. Semester exams are moderately difficult. The pass percentage is 35%.
Other: I chose this course because it aligned with my interests and goals. However, I wish the curriculum was more updated with current industry tools and tech. The campus life is very good. Fests and events are of the next level in DTU. India's one of the biggest fests is held in DTU.

The okayish college for design
Placements: For our batch, the placements are not good at all. It is very different from what is being advertised on public platforms and should not be taken for reference. But the situation might get better as my juniors are getting much better opportunities on campus than we got for our batch.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure, even after constant construction throughout my duration in college, is not good. On the surface, it might look good, but they lack the bare minimum stuff for it to be considered a good design college in the first place. They spend a lot of money on departments that were never required.
Faculty: Exams here are just formality; the main weightage is given to your big project of the semester for each of the subjects. That will be considered as the priority for the subject. But with a few exceptions, both the faculty and the curriculum are not that good.
Other: The campus life and your peers are where you'll get most of your learnings from. Just do not rely on the teachers in hopes that they will teach something good.

Review of DTU - Delhi Technological University.
Placements: Almost 90% of students got placed in my college. The highest salary package offered is 85 LPA, and the lowest is 10 LPA. Adani and Reliance are the recruiters of our college. Almost 75% of students got internships from my course in Danik Bhaskar, Rajasthan Patrika, etc. To study some practical knowledge, improvement is the key to all things.
Infrastructure: The facilities of our college are good with the finest infrastructure. They provide Wi-Fi, smart board facilities, and others. The departments are well-designed. The library is also good; we can find all types of books there. The hostel is better; they offer Wi-Fi facilities, provide food and rooms to students, and keep the mess well-cleaned. Our college also organizes sports activities.
Faculty: Teachers are very qualified but not helpful. They do not provide the required knowledge to the students. The curriculum contains very old technologies, and the semester exams are not difficult. The situation is such that teachers do not cover the right portions, and they include different topics in the exams. The checking is not thorough, leading to difficulties for students during exams.

DTU College review M.Sc. department.
Placements: The college has 75% placement rate every year. The college provides the highest salary package of 15 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. All students get an average salary package of 6 LPA. Companies like Biocon, Bharat Biotech, and many more start-ups visit the college. The most offered role in companies is a team leader.
Infrastructure: College has the best infrastructure compared to the other colleges in the city. Wi-Fi is available all around the campus. Our classrooms are very clean. Library has good books. We have clean washrooms. The hostel does not have good things. The food is the worst. Sports are good.
Faculty: Our teachers are very good but do not have good experience. They are trying their best. The curriculum was good when I was studying in college. We have industrial visits once every 6 months. Exams are not difficult to pass. If you want to score, you should study.

The campus is good. The salary packages are lower in core branches.
Placements: The placement options for core branches are average to low, while the campus environment is decent but sometimes overcrowded. There are a lot of faculty members, and the academic workload is relatively easy. However, very few students secure on-campus internships in biotech; those in technical branches have better chances of landing roles as software development engineers (SDEs), analysts, or consultants, with limited opportunities in core roles.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi connectivity is unreliable, and the labs in my department are either average or below par. The classrooms are generally in poor condition, except for the AB building. The food spots are excellent, sports facilities are adequate, and the hostel accommodations are good, though the mess is not up to the mark. The library is small and often overcrowded, but the available books are satisfactory. Air conditioning works well, but the Wi-Fi issues persist.
Faculty: Most instructors are Ph.D. holders, and the teaching mainly focuses on theory, particularly in core branches. The theoretical approach does not adequately prepare students for the industry, necessitating additional learning outside the curriculum. Semester exams tend to be average in difficulty—not too easy, but not overly challenging either. The passing percentage is around 33% to 35%, and the grading system follows a CGPA format.

Q:   Which college is better to pursue BTech in Mechanical Engineering among DTU and NSIT?
A:
As confirmed by a final-year Mechanical undergraduate at DTU-Professors, academics, labs and everything else may be comparable but you aren't going to study all the time. So, when it comes to activities outside the classroom, DTU trumps NSIT easily. Be it curricular fests, sports activities, cultural societies, lenient environment, better infrastructure or even campus as a whole, DTU is far better than NSIT. And taking into consideration the reputation and demand of Mechanical, DTU's Mechanical Engineering stream trumps NSIT's. Even in the field of placements, companies prefer DTU over NSIT for the recruitment of Mechanical Engineering. NSIT needs time to set up its brand when it comes to Mechanicals. '
