DTU Delhi Online Courses 2026

DTU comprises the DTU main campus, University School of Management and Entrepreneurship (also called DTU East Delhi campus) and the Delhi School of Management (DSM). Together they offer UG, PG and doctoral programmes in the field of Engineering, Design, Science and Management. The admission process is completely online and is conducted via the official website of DTU, DSM, USME or related counselling bodies. 

Most popular for its BTech programme, Delhi Technological University (DTU) admission for BTech is based on JEE Main scores and the entire process of counselling is conducted by CMAT, Delhi. DTU admission to all the remaining courses is based on national/ university-level entrance exams, such as UCEED,  GATE,  CMAT,  CMAT, among others. However, there are a few MBA specialised courses and BBA, admission to which is offered based on the past qualifying exam  (UG level) followed by an interview round.

As per the JEE Main Round 1 cutoff released by DTU for admission to the BTech programme, BTech CSE, IT, Software Engineering, Mathematics & Computer Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering are the top five and most competitive specialisations offered here. The below table mentions the closing ranks of round 1 for all these specialisations for the past three years. 

Having said that, the selection of specialisations must be dependent on the choice and interest of the candidate before anything else. 

UCEED dates are out for admission. DTU students can check the complete schedule. The university will release the scorecard between March and July.

The application fee for all the MBA courses at DTU is INR 1,500. This fee component for the General MBA programme is the same for reserved category candidates. However, for SC/ST and PwD candidates, the registration fee is INR 750  (for MBA in BA, FBE and Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Venture Development) which needs to be paid online. The registration process will remain incomplete till the submission of the registration fee. For BTech admission, DTU accepts JEE Main followed by JAC counselling and the entire admission process is conducted via Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) Delhi. To be eligible, candidates must fulfil the below eligibility criteria:

• Delhi Region candidates (85% of seats): Aspirants passing the qualifying exam from a recognised school/ college/ institute located within the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi will be considered for the Delhi Region only
• Outside Delhi Region candidates (15% of seats): Aspirants passing the qualifying examination from a recognised school/ college/ institute located outside the National Capital Territory of Delhi will be considered for Outside Delhi Region only.

The average package recorded during DTU placements over the past three years is mentioned below: 

JEE Main rank is accepted by both DTU and IIT Delhi, followed by the JAC Delhi counselling process for admission to various BTech specialisations. According to the JAC Delhi Round 1 cutoff 2025, the closing rank for CSE admission for the General AI category was 2285. While for IIT Delhi it was 8171.

Therefore, going by the cutoff for both institutions, IIT Delhi is relatively easier for CSE admissions. Although those candidates who qualified for DTU can view other parameters to consider for a better, more knowledgeable decision.

CMAC is the body that decided Delhi Technological University BBA deadline for each year. CMAC registrations are yet to begin thus, it is unknown when BBA deadline has been scheduled for DTU, Delhi. Generally, CMAC ends its registration in second week of July.

The selection criteria for BTech at DTU is entrance based and states that having a JEE Mains rank is the minimum requirement for final seat allotment. In addition, students must go through the JAC counselling process to get a seat at DTU. After the result of JEE Main, JAC counselling for seat allotment is conducted in four rounds. Additional spot rounds are conducted for vacant seats (if available). 

DTU ranked 29 under the 'Engineering' category by the NIRF 2023. There are many IITs ranked before DTU under the same category. Also, it competes against the top-notch NITs and second-phase IITs in several specialisations of BTech. Hence, it is safe to say that DTU is as good as an IIT or an NIT in northern India. In fact, The Times Rankings 2022 ranked DTU number 1 in the Delhi NCR region for 'Engineering' category.

DTU BTech students are placed in top companies like Samsung, Microsoft, Zomato, and others. Also the BTech fee is not very high. To clear JEE Main, candidates must study according to the JEE Main syllabus and appear for as many JEE Main mock tests as possible. 

Delhi Technological University (DTU), is defenitely a Tier 1 college. DTU was established in 1941 and the oldest IIT was established in around 1951 . DTU Delhi is accredited by the NAAC with an 'A' grade and NBA and is also approved by the University Grant Commission (UGC) and AICTE. DTU College is ranked 61 under the Overall category by NIRF 2023,  40 under the University category by NIRF 2023, and 29 under the Engineering category by NIRF 2023. Candidates seeking admission must have a valid score in the UCEED exam for final admission. And to become eligible for admission to BDes at Delhi Technological University, candidates must have passed their Class 12 with Science/ Commerce/ Arts or a three-year Diploma course recognised by AICTE. After appearing for the exam, the institute releases multiple merit lists based on UCEED scores. Those who have their names on these merit lists can book their seat by paying a fee component, shared with the shortlisted students. 

Delhi Technological University offers a four-year BTech programme across 14 specialisations along with two BTech Evening programmes to the students. The duration of the BTech evening programme is also four years. The specialisations available under the regular BTech course includes CSE, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Engineering Physics, Mathematics and Computing specialisations, among others. Additionally, the specialisations available under BTech (Evening) course include Civil and Electrical Engineering. Students seeking admission must have a valid score in the JEE Main entrance exam. However, the final admission process is conducted via Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) Delhi. IP University is one of the decent options for BBA provided the student is pursuing it from one of the top colleges under GGSIPU (or IP University). Considering the fact that IPU is older and the reputation it has built for its BBA programme over the years, it can be taken as a better option out of the two. However, BBA from DTU has its own advantages, DTU is a public University and has a brand value of its own. Students must also do a quick comparison of the fee charged by both the universities and the average salary offered to the BBA passouts of IP University and DTU and then take a decision. Yes, DTU offers admission to candidates also who have AMIE/ AMIS. AMIICHE/ AMIIM/ Grad IETE or those who possess a BSc/ Diploma in Engineering degree.
