Candidates must have Passed a two-year Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to a Master’s degree by the relevant statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade of ‘B’ on the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade wherever a different grading system is used). Alternatively, candidates may have an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an authorized agency in that country, responsible for ensuring educational quality and standards. M.Phil. Qualification: Candidates who have completed M.Phil. coursework with at least 55% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade of ‘B’ (as per the UGC 7-point scale or equivalent) and have successfully completed the M.Phil. degree are eligible to pursue research work leading to a Ph.D. in the same institution. Relaxation in Marks: A relaxation of 5% marks (i.e., minimum 50% instead of 55%) or an equivalent grade is applicable for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PwD (Persons with Disabilities) categories.
