SRM University at a glance.
Placements: About 75% of enrolled students get placed by the department. The top recruiters are John Deere, Amazon, and Honda. The average package for our course is around 8 LPA. The top 20% of the class can easily get an internship in the companies mentioned above.
Infrastructure: Since my course is Mechatronics, a good lab facility is an absolute necessity. The college provides the best lab facilities with a heavy investment in equipment and roots. The quality of food available in the mess is average to good. There are sports events for hostel students inside the hostel.
Faculty: The faculty members, including the lecturers and lab assistants, are extremely qualified as well as easily approachable and never make you feel intimidated. The curriculum is framed alongside industry experts to ensure that the students are ready to take on real-world problems and cases. The semester exams are neutral.
Other: I chose this course because it aligns best with my interests, and it almost covers every aspect of engineering. There are two fests that take place in our college, one is the technical event Aarush, and the other is the cultural event Milan.

Kind of satisfied but there are some lacking also.
Placements: Mine is mechanical engineering, I'm currently studying the course not been completed yet. The placements are okay but not satisfactory as I went through the previous year's placements charts. Only a few percent of students got placed through campus placement.
Infrastructure: The facilities are excellent; the classrooms and labs are great and offer more interactive sessions. The food quality is good, and I’ve never been disappointed. Library experience was fantastic; it features a spacious, air-conditioned environment with a reading hall and a wide variety of books.
Faculty: The faculty members are well-qualified and skilled in their professions. Sometimes there are language barriers or differences in slang. Exams are conducted under strict supervision, and penalties are imposed on those who attempt malpractice during exams.

Chronicles of campus: The college review.
Placements: Around 80% of students got placed from our course. The highest salary package offered is nearly 50 LPA, and the lowest salary offered is 3 LPA. The average salary package offered is about 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Bank of America, and Deloitte.
Infrastructure: Facility and infrastructure are good. Infrastructure is being upgraded constantly new buildings are being built and new technologies are being used. For hostels, they use face scan entry and for library we need to scan the ID card to enter. Library is pretty huge. Wi-Fi speed is very good.
Faculty: Faculty members are okay. Since there are so many students good faculty members are less when compared to the number of students. Course curriculum is outdated and they teach the same outdated subjects which aren't relevant. Exams are pretty easy and there is exam every month.
Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in coding. The best thing about our course is the placement. Things to be improved regarding course curriculum and to learn relevant skills. Many events take place. Main fest is Milan. Campus has every extracurricular activity which we can imagine.

The greatest college in South India.
Placements: Nearly 90% of students at our college get placed, indicating a strong placement record. The average salary package is around 8 LPA, while the highest package has gone up to 1 crore per annum, showing that top companies do visit the campus. These days, almost every student also secured an internship, which helps in building practical experience. A variety of job roles are offered, including both SDE (Software Development Engineer) positions and non-SDE roles, depending on the student's branch and interests.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is well-developed, with good facilities in both the academic buildings and hostels. Classrooms are air-conditioned, and there are well-stocked libraries to support students learning. The hostels are clean and spacious, usually shared by 2 to 4 students, and have open areas for walking or playing. The mess food is decent and meets the daily needs of students.
Faculty: In terms of academics, internal exams are conducted every 20-25 days, and they carry 60% weightage of the total marks. The remaining 40% comes from the end-semester exams. This regular assessment system helps students stay on track. The syllabus for each course is reasonable. It's not too lengthy or too short, making it manageable over the semester.
Other: Apart from academics, the college also encourages students to take part in sports and extracurricular activities. Hackathons are organized almost every week, giving students the chance to apply their knowledge and develop innovative solutions.

It is pretty decent, with average placements.
Placements: Placements are average. Companies take students in one go, but if we have proper grades and CGPA, we will be eligible to sit for the higher-end companies that indeed offer good packages. After the minimum criteria, it is up to students to showcase their skills.
Infrastructure: College buildings are well-maintained with centralized ACs for computer science courses. Hostels have different options such as two-sharing, three-sharing, or even dorms with attached washrooms or common washrooms. The mess has decent food and I have yet to see any food poisoning because of the mess food.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are good except a few. They have a decent knowledge, especially the research-based teachers. I have seen a bit of favoritism in a few faculty members, but overall, it's not that common. The curriculum is relevant but there is not a great focus on the actual subject.

SRM thoroughly reviewed by a second-year student.
Placements: The placements for my branch are bad. The median package is between 5 to 7 Lacs per annum. The highest it has ever gone is somewhere in the 20 Lacs per annum range; that too could be an off-campus placement. Pharma, virology, and medical fields have requirements for biotechnology individuals.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for my branch is pretty good and world-class. It is one of the best reasons for doing Biotechnology from SRM. The laboratories and equipment are all up to the mark and modern, which is essential to give us hands-on experience, which is vital in our field. The hostels, on the other hand, are average at best. The first-year hostels are clustered to fit in as many students as possible, but at least there are rooms available, which reduce drastically for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years. The common washrooms are comparable to railway washrooms, but the attached washrooms are still satisfactory.
Faculty: The teaching is a hit or a miss. The teachers are either good at explaining the concepts, or they just aren't able to impart the knowledge they possess. The faculty members, though, are highly qualified individuals who are doing their own research as well. The course curriculum follows the new NEP; it's as good as it could be, but there's always a huge room for improvement. The assessments are hectic, as we have CTs almost every month, along with assignments and projects adding up to a total of 60 marks for internals. The rest 40 marks are from the end-semesters of 75 marks, which is converted to 40, making the total 100 marks (60+40).
Other: The high-end infrastructure and equipment available for my course at SRM were the leading factors for me to join the course. The fests are good, especially the techno fest Aarush, but the Milan fest is more crowded due to locals also coming to the fest.
