SRM Institute of Technology Kattankulathur offers PhD at the doctoral level. The course is offered to three category students, namely full-time, part-time and part-time external candidates. While the duration for full-time course range from three to five years, the duration for part-time course range from three to six years. SRM University offers PhD in 60 specialisations. The university fee structure is cumulative of several components, such as caution deposit, tuition fee, hostel fee, and more. A few of these components are one-time payable, while some have are charged annually/semesterly. SRM IST Chennai MBA tuition fee ranges between INR 1.9 Lacs and INR 11.5 lakh. No, students cannot join SRM IST without entrance exam. For admissions into any course, students must appear for the exam. They can visit the college website for further information. The college offers various courses across Engineering, Medical, Management, Science and Humanities, Hotel and Catering Management, Agricultural Sciences and Law. 

SRM University conducts SRM JEE exam for admission to Engineering courses. The university does not accept scores for any other entrance exams. Also, direct admission is not valid either. Candidates are shortlisted for BTech and M.Tech based on their past academic records and scores obtained in the entrance exam.

MBA Scholarship for aspirants with UG degrees is 85% and will be given a concession of INR 50,000 in second-year tuition fees.
