All the faculty are highly trained in their fields.
Placements: A lot of companies like Amazon, Microsoft, JP Morgan Chase Co. , Adobe, Airbnb, Axis Bank, Barclays, Celebel, Cisco, etc. visit the institute and provide job opportunities for various roles and positions. The average package goes around INR 9–11 lacs per annum and the highest for my course students recorded is around INR 19 lacs per annum. The whole placement scenario for the MCA department revolves around the factor of competition with BTech/BE students and student skill sets and potential. Around 60–70% of students get placed on-campus and the remaining either go off-campus or further their studies.
Infrastructure: Hostel rooms are decent with all the required facilities, with 2 or 3 shared bathrooms attached and common bathrooms; no AC rooms are also available. The food is hygienic but the quality is good but average in taste. Hostels are highly affordable and easily available, with a good number of rooms available for students and inmates every academic year. PG or rented rooms are not that easily available because of the remote location of the college. Hostel Fee: INR 65,000 per year.
Faculty: I chose this course because I was interested in the field of computer applications. The course curriculum was up-to-date and as per the updated syllabus. RCOEM faculty members are well educated and all the faculty members are helpful. There was a daily, monthly, and term exam according to the university pattern. Class size;-66 The course costs INR 109,000 per year.

Placements: 95 percent of students will be placed in my course. The highest package is INR 45 lakhs per year, the lowest is INR 4 lakhs, and the average is INR 9 lakhs per year, so many companies will be recruited like Sony, Amazon, Microsoft, Google, etc. 85 percent of students got internships; the top roles are software developers.
Infrastructure: The faculty is good enough and highly qualified. Our college is named for infrastructure; the wi-fi is high-speed; and the classrooms are neat and clean The hostel has table tennis sports equipment (AC, carrom boards, chess, cricket bats, etc.).
Faculty: Yes, they are helpful, highly qualified and knowledgeable. They have good staff and some rude staff. Also, it makes students ready for industry. Yes, some things are tough and some are easy. It purely depends on our knowledge. The pass percentage is good enough; everybody passed because of the great knowledge of the faculty.
Other: I chose this course because I have a personal interest in it. The best thing about my course is that it is a well-known developing course that has many benefits and placements. There is no need for improvement; it is good enough.

The pathetic experience in srm.
Placements: The college is not providing us with good placement opportunities which I the prime reason that only 85% of the batch gets placed and that to not in core profile jobs but in other sales jobs which is pathetic and moreover the average package is only 4.5 Lacs.
Infrastructure: The college is trying hard to provide us with all the amenities and become a world-class university but they still are not able to as the college does not wants to spend money on any kind of amenities but only events and extra activities which are of no use, most of our fees goes us development charges.
Faculty: The exams are extremely easy the teachers give the questions before exams and make the exams easier and even after paying so many feels we have to pay the exam feels separately and also the local students are given more preference in everything. The teachers are also not supportive.

On Infrastructure

Q:   How is the infrastructure of SRM University Kattankulathur?

A:

SRM Institute of Science and Technology Kattankulathur is a sprawling 250-acre campus that offers a wide range of facilities to its students, including state-of-the-art laboratories, laboratory, Wi-Fi, a knowledge centre, libraries, a 4,000-capacity AC auditorium, more than 100 online smart classrooms, boys and girls hostels with multiple premium facilities, and much more.

The campus is also green, clean, and energy-efficient. Solar energy is one of the major sources of power for the campus, and the energy generated from solar panels is used to power solar steam cooking and solar water heaters installed in the hostels.

Q:   How is SRM Chennai in terms of faculty, infrastructure, placement, etc.? Is it worth going to SRM if you want a bright future?

A:
  • College Infrastructure: SRM has a well-defined layout in terms of infrastructure. The campus is spread over a large area, with all the basic facilities provided. There are huge grounds and indoor courts for sports; the gymnasium is made for the students of the college. The library is technically advanced and has a good collection of books. The classrooms are well maintained with smart boards installed, and the washrooms are clean. The canteen has diverse varieties of food that are hygienic and affordable.
  • Academics: CSE has proven to be a good course for me as it aligns with my interests and liking for computers and programming. The course is well updated, and even the curricula followed in college fall in line with the skills required in the job sector. The course has a lot of research and practicality, which definitely makes one job-ready. The teachers are cooperative and experienced, and they mentor each student at every point.
  • Placements: Approximately 70% of the students get hired in the recruitment drive held by the college. The placement drive is held in the most efficient manner. The average package is around 5 LPA, which is a good kickstart for any student in their respective fields. The college has a placement cell that is responsible for inviting firms to the college and guiding fellow students in getting placed, hence making the college supportive. The placements must be inclusive of all the courses, which is a demerit.
  • Value-for-money: The annual tuition fee structure was a bit on the expensive side, as my yearly fee was around 3 lacs p/a, which might not be affordable for many students. But the quality of services and education, with all the basic amenities, make SRM worth the investment. Personally, SRM is making each penny count.
  • Campus Life: Though the college is isolated from the main part of the city, it is glorious from the inside. There are sports activities in the college and many cultural societies, like dance and music societies. Moreover, there are various clubs that keep on participating in educational competitions. Various seminars are held and several festivals are conducted throughout the year, making college life happen. There's a medical room to handle any emergency as and when it arises!
