BS Degree : Value for money , Pros and Cons
Learning Experience: The course content are provided by NPTEL. The teachers are IITian, very well qualified. The challenges which comes to the way is that, as it is an online degree. It sometimes get boring, so you have to take care of it.
Placements: You should not depend wholely on the campus placement. You need to search other places as well. Because as it is a new degree, there are fewer companies visiting. But I won't deny, students are getting placed from this degree in a very large amount.
Faculty: Faculty is good there. English is quite boring, but other subjects are interesting and the lectures are interesting too. The program is very structured with weekly assignments and quizzes.
Course Support: The support team is very cooperative. We have a whole department for support. The email and contact be it WhatsApp or text messaging system is available 24/7.

I would like to summarise saying everything is valuable. It's really good.
Learning Experience: The course is really valuable for our career. Lectures are well described. They are really good and well designed.
Placements: I can't say it's the best as we lack some practical exposure, but I'm pretty sure in future it will shine.
Faculty: Quality of lectures is really good. Faculty is supportive. Assignments and proper exams are there.
Course Support: Lectures are provided, live sessions and open sessions are held. We get instant help.

B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering - Batch of 2027

I'm dissatisfied with the aerospace, but it has good campus life, challenges, and lessons for life.
Placements: According to the survey conducted, placements for graduates of Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras are average, with the salary package offered was 18 LPA. However, based on my observation and experience as a student here, there were zero core placements for Aerospace graduates last year.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of our department is horrible with some ceilings falling off. The freshers' hostel is no less than a 5-star hotel, with all the facilities in it. Mess food is also nice, offering a wide variety of cuisines, with separate messes for North and South Indian menus. Wi-Fi is strong, and the libraries are very good, providing a great study environment.
Faculty: Some faculty members are good, while others are not as effective. Course curriculum is well-organized and student-friendly, with manageable pressure and minimal uneasiness. Faculty can be inconsistent, sometimes, they are good, and at other times, it may be difficult to keep up with them. Difficulty level increases with each semester, making it more challenging.

B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering - Batch of 2024

4Placements4Infrastructure3Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Our college has an excellent research focus, great campus life, and decent infrastructure.
Placements: In my batch, about 78% of the registered candidates got placed. The average package was 16.08 LPA and the median was 17.5LPA. One of my friends got the highest package in our batch in a Dubai-based start-up company with a package of about 60 LPA. The roles offered vary on the career path chosen by aerospace engineers, those who chose core jobs were offered roles like structural analyst, and design while others who have taken up jobs in the data science and software-developed sectors, roles include machines learning engineer and data analyst. Some candidates also secured PPOs as product managers.
Infrastructure: In our department, classrooms are decent and not on par with other departments and modern standards. Most of the academic buildings are Wi-Fi enabled. For first-year common courses and a few interdisciplinary courses, there are state-of-the-art lecture halls. There are North Indian and South Indian messes both further separate as veg/non-veg. A biweekly fixed menu is followed, and the food is average to good depending on the day. There are also 2 food courts in the academic zone and hostel zone, and a restaurant called zaitoon in the hostel zone. The restaurant is affordable and serves good food.
Faculty: All professors in our department are PhDs. While some are good at teaching, most of them are decent at best but they are backed by good research experience. The quality of the teaching is unfortunately also affected by the outdated courses which doesn't make the aerospace curriculum industry relevant. Students will have to do research under professors and publish papers to be eligible for good post-graduate opportunities. Coming to the exams, following what is taught in the class is usually sufficient. The difficulty of the exams can be considered between average-tough. There is no pass percentage, depending on the professor.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in physics. The course contains a lot of engineering problems where physics is extensively used. The best thing about this course is that it is also mathematically demanding and will be useful in learning CS courses if one chooses to. I wish the course had more emphasis on the industry requirements such as drone designing, UAVs, and clubbing recent developments like AI and ML to make the learning more practical. The campus is beautiful, we have wildlife living alongside us, bringing us closer to nature.

Review of IIT Madras - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: About 50-60% of students get placements in many companies. 150-180 companies visit the college for placements. The highest package offered in 2024 is 4.3 LPA by a Japanese company. The average package is 18 LPA regardless of branch. The lowest package is 6 LPA. For my course, the top recruiting companies are Tata and Momentive. Many students got internships this year along with me in companies like ITC, Jaguar, and BCG. Top roles offered are software, data analysis, and finance roles.
Infrastructure: We have Wi-Fi overall on campus and in hostels too. We have a library where we get every book for the courses we do. Comics and storybooks are also available. We have centralised AC classrooms for some departments. We have a hospital inside our campus, and it is guided by professional doctors. We have a North and South mess where we get veg and non-veg foods separately. We have a sports complex and many grounds for different sports. We have grounds and many indoor sports in our hostels.
Faculty: Teachers are very friendly with students. They even give us their hands-on working projects for the sake of students, which is very useful in internship and placement times. In the course curriculum, we have hands-on experience in everything we do, projects we do on it, and presentations. We have 2 quizzes and 1 end-semester basic. Sometimes, it depends on the professors. The pass percentage is 35%.
Other: I chose this college as per the NIRF ranking and the best course I got here is mechanical engineering. We have many labs where we see things and how they work. We also have workshops. There is everything that makes us improve in each part of the course. We have a cultural fest named Saarang and a technical fest named Shaastra, which I am a part of. We have many clubs where interested students can take part in. Scholarship is based on the quota for SC, ST, and EWS with parental income less than 1 lakh. The tuition fee is Rs. 7,500, and for others, it is 1 lakh per semester, and the hostel is the same for everyone.

IIT Madras is the best institute for researchers.
Placements: Very few people are not placed. Most of them get placed. There is a large alumni network at this institution. This year the highest salary package offered is 4.5 crore by institution. If students are well prepared for interviews definitely they get placed in a company with good packages.
Infrastructure: Hostels have LAN facilities but do not institute Wi-Fi. Everywhere except hostels have institute Wi-Fi. Best quality of food is provided by messes. There is one stadium named Watsa for those who are interested in sports. Some indoor games are available to students in hostels.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, knowledgeable, and qualified. IIT Madras curriculum is best. It makes students ready for industry. Semester exams are very easy if we just understand and analyse courses of that particular semester. There are some pass or fail courses.
Other: Electrical Engineering at IIT Madras has both electrical and electronic communications.
