Ltd., Axis Bank, HCL Technologies, Honeywell, ICICI Bank, JPMorgan Chase & Co., McKinsey and Company, Wells Fargo, Wipro, Bajaj Auto Limited, L&T Infotech, American Express, Flipkart Internet Pvt. Ltd., VMock India Pvt. Ltd., and TATA Consultancy Services Limited. According to media reports, 1,722 students registered for the 2023 placement process. At the end of session 1.1, a total of 445 offers were made. Among these, 25 offers were of packages above INR 1 crore per annum. Further, 15 international offers were received from four companies. A total of 331 companies registered for phase I of IIT Madras placements in 2023. The institute recorded the highest-ever pre-placement offers of 407.

IIT Madras admissions are entrance exam based. Candidates need to clear the National-level entrance exams for admissions to various courses.
