IIT Madras - Indian Institute of Technology Scholarships and Funding
IIT Madras encourages meritorious students by providing different types of scholarships. The Institute also helps students requiring financial help with selective scholarship amounts and fee waiver. There are also some special scholarship schemes for SC, ST and female students. Some of the scholarships are given by previous alumni of the institute while others are from companies and from the Government of India. There are procedures for obtaining the scholarship and every scholarship application is thoroughly checked and verified before being approved.
Scholarships Offered by the Institute:
1. Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: Available for 25% of students admitted. Renewal of scholarship every semester is subject to a minimum GPA of 5.0. in the previous semester.
67% Tuition fee exemption.
Eligibility Criteria: Parents annual income not exceeding Rs. 4,50,000/-
2. Institute free studentship: Available for 25% of students admitted. Renewal of scholarship every semester is subject to a minimum GPA of 5.0. in the previous semester.
