For B.Tech Programs offered by the Department of Biotechnology, Department of Genetic Engineering and Department of Biomedical Engineering – Minimum 60% aggregate in PCM / PMB/PCB/PCB or Z (Botany or Zoology). Students who have not studied Mathematics as one of the major subjects in +2 must undertake an additional 4 credit courses in Mathematics during the First Year of B.Tech.
Students who have completed +2 under NIOS must have completed the 10th standard from regular schooling or vice-versa.
Students who have not studied Chemistry should undergo a bridge course in Chemistry in the first year.

Good infrastructure and facilities with above average placements but no value for money.
Placements: The placements offered by SRM IST are good. They make sure that a lot of companies come for recruitment. Most of the students are placed in IT companies like Infosys, Cognizant, TCS etc. The average package for mass recruiters remains around 4 Lacs. One can expect a good package in core companies which can go as high as 20 Lacs but the number of placements is less.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure for automobile course are excellent. They have their own hangar with sophisticated workshop equipments. The classrooms are equipped with AC and comfortable desks. The AC hostel is good however the non AC hostels are in average condition. There are 3 people sharing in a room. Quality of food is average as you would expect from any hostel but they do offer pickles and buttermilk which helps. SRM has its own hospital and there is no lack of medical facilities. There are basketball, volleyball courts and soccer grounds.
Faculty: The teachers are average. Very few of them take the pain to actually teach relevant topics. Most of them are worried about completing the curriculum. If you are really interested you can reach out to research guides who can help you with doing a research project which can be very beneficial to you. The curriculum is above average but you need to get more skills to get industry-ready. In short, there are opportunities available for those who want to work for it.

Review of SRMIST - SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai.
Placements: The college provides placement training for the students to get the job with a good salary. Some of the major companies like CEAT, Bridgestone, etc., visit our college for placements. The college also provides GRE and GATE training for the students who want to opt for higher studies.
Infrastructure: The campus is large with facilities like hostel, large playground, night food shops, a swimming pool, gym, etc. The college also provides an industrial tour abroad. The campus is the largest in Tamil Nadu.
Faculty: Teachers in our college have good knowledge about the subject. They guide students. They are friendly, and they encourage the students to reach good positions in life. They have a lot of experience in teaching and deep knowledge of the subject.
Other: The college has students from all over the world. The campus is fully diversified in nature as students are from different part of the world. There will be unity between the students. Our college celebrates every festival with full enjoyment and energy.

See, this mostly depends on the the guys having ranks better than you. Automobile cut-off was 55000 rank. Last year, if you were lucky enough, you might get it.
