Quality education and good facilities.
Placements: The percentage of students that were placed in the course is quite high. The top recruiting companies for chemical engineering were TCS and Cognizant. A handful amount of students have applied for further studies in the field and the course has offered detailed experience.
Infrastructure: The facilities available in the department are well maintained and easy to access. There are labs for each section of course and classrooms are equipped with projectors for interactive studying. Library is also equipped with every material required for thorough knowledge. Hostels are made to fulfill the needs of students in many areas but they can still be improved.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable in the particular feed. Each faculty is an expert in their area and tends to help students understand. A lot of subjects are not curriculum related but it definitely helps in the overall development of the mind apart from the core subjects.

Infrastructure and student life are great. Our college is recognised globally.
Placements: The highest salary package from chemical engineering was offered to a student recruited by Reliance. A decent number of core companies visited here, and many non-core companies also visited here. Almost 90% of the students who sat for placements got placed, and most of them are from the IT department. Core companies choose the mere number of students.
Infrastructure: Food in hostels is pathetic, but the rooms are worth the money paid. Wi-Fi is provided to all the students and faculty members of this institute. There is SRM medical college, so any kind of medical issue can be dealt with without stalling. There is a sports quota for students, NCC, etc.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are skilled enough to clear the doubts of students and explain in-depth concepts. There are semester abroad and dual degree programs in which students get a chance to attend these in their own interest. There are many webinars hosted by the faculty members of our department and also the fest.

Average placements in 2016, really good campus infrastructure and facilities, average campus life.
Placements: The overall placements for our batch was 99%, though placement in core companies was down to 3%. Only one core company (BALCO) came for placement, offering a package of 7lpa (the highest) for 2 students out of a batch of total 60 students. 96% of students in the batch were placed in non- core companies (IT consultant organizations - Wipro, TCS, Cognizant), offering an average package of 3.5lpa. About 60% of students got internship from our batch during the second and third year, in companies like oil & gas, textile, process industries.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure like lab facilities, classrooms, library were upto the mark. Labs were well-equipped with required instrumentation setup. Connectivity throughout the campus was not an issue. Hostels were crammed up and not too spacious. No option available for single room or double sharing. Only three sharing rooms available. Mess and food quality can be improved. Medical facilities were okay.
Faculty: The curriculum of the course and the teaching methodology involved does not make the students ready to face the real world and solve practical industrial problems once they graduate out of college. The evaluation method and the teaching method has a great scope for improvement. The teachers however were knowledgeable, but the curriculum does not allow them to explore new ways of learning. Old school method of learning is something that needs quite an improvement.
Other: I passed out in 2016 from SRM University (B.Tech in chemical engineering). Having a deep rooted interest in subjects like chemistry, maths & having seen my mother work in an oil and gas industry, I was naturally inclined to take up this course. I feel the way of teaching and the evaluation criteria for the exams can be improved. Open book evaluations can be challenging for the students and might help in inspiring the students to take interest in the course itself, rather than solely being focused on memorizing the notes and passing the exams. The fests organized, both technical and cultural are engaging and interesting. A number of activities, events, concerts, inter college competitions are lined up for the students.

As a student, I am satisfied with campus life.
Placements: Almost 70% of the students were placed in the previous year. The minimum salary offered is Rs. 10,000 per month and the maximum salary offered is 1 lac per month. Berger Paints and Reliance are the top recruiting companies in our college. Supervisor post in top companies is offered to the students. In our course, the maximum salary package offered is 5 LPA and the minimum salary package offered is 2 LPA. Almost 60% of the students got an internship.
Infrastructure: Our college provides highly standard labs with the most recent equipment. Wi-Fi facilities are very good with 150 Mbps speed, and it is provided in both on the campus as well as in the hostel. There is a central library with centralised air-conditioners. Quality of food is good, and there is a separate hospital for medical facilities.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are well-experienced. They are able to give a detailed view of every topic of the subject and clearing doubts as well. This course curriculum is relevant and helps students to get well-trained to enter any industries with good knowledge.
Other: I have chosen this course because of my interest in chemical engineering. The college needs improvement in equipment. Our college conducts Milan and Aaruush as cultural events.

SRM University Chemical Engineering Review.
Placements: More than 90% are placed and some students opted for higher studies. Almost all of recruiting companies are IT some Non-IT companies are like Byjus and some chemical companies. Even Biotech students are placed in IT. Average package is around 4 Lacs per annum. For my course, the top recruiting company is Byju's and IT companies like Infosys, Zoho, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. First year only AC in university building for all engineering departments. Library is very good all facilities required are available. Hostel is not bad. Quality of food is good but at certain point we will get bored eating in mess. But lot of food shops available in the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and are qualified from top universities like IIT, BITS, also some from foreign universities like cambridge university. But some teachers are dumb but they have big qualifications. Overall teaching quality is okay. Course and curriculum are relevant. And not sure if it makes students industry ready.
Other: Chemical engineering is like base for all engineering departments. There is value for this course even after 1000 years. Common misconception about this course is people think that this course is full of chemistry. But its not true. Events are aaruush Tech fest, milan and etc.

Placements: Our college claims 100% placements, and it provides 100% placements for students. About 90% of the students get placed apart from those who have backlogs. All the IT giants like TCS, Accenture, Cognizant, Wipro, Infosys and Capgemini visit the campus. Along with these, reputed core companies like Tata, Mahindra, and other automakers also visited the campus. I got placed in Wipro.
Infrastructure: SRM has its own hospital, so students don't need to worry about the medical facilities. The treatment is provided for free of cost, but you have to pay for medicines. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. Hostels are of international standards, and there are both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned rooms for students. Rooms are offered on a two-sharing and three-sharing bases. Vegetarian, non-vegetarian, north Indian and south Indian food varieties are available in the mess. Cricket ground, basketball court, and cafeteria are available on the campus.
Faculty: The college has good faculty members, but everyone just focuses on providing bookish knowledge and conducting old experiments. This process is the same in every college, be it IIT or any other engineering college. Most of the faculty members are from south India. The student to faculty ratio is 10:1. Students need to study for a complete 4 years as there are too many exams.
Other: Scholarships are available for students who have an academic aggregate of 90% in class 12 and good rank in SRMIST. Our campus is known for diversified students from North India and South India. Cultural and technical fests are celebrated every year.

The college has good infrastructure and good placements, but I'm not satisfied with the faculty.
Placements: Up to 90% of the students get placed in college placement drives. The students of SRM University are placed all over the country. Many students get scholarships to study abroad. The college provides the students with the placement training in the third year. The students have to choose between the placement training and GRE coaching.
Infrastructure: The college campus is very spacious and well-built. There are many buildings on the campus including the blocks for different courses like bioengineering, architecture, MBA, etc. The labs are also well-equipped and well-built. There is a food court, supermarket, salon, and bookstore available near the college.
Faculty: The faculty members of the college are good. They are approachable, sometimes. The teaching methods are not to the date. The teachers need to implement the modern methods of teaching. There are smart boards in every classroom. The classes are provided with good lighting facilities, and they are spacious.

Review of SRMIST, Kattankulathur.
Placements: The placements of our college are okay in the previous year. A few students from our senior batch got placed in Reliance Petroleum. Only a few core companies visit the college for placements, so the students mostly get placed in the mass recruiting companies, but the students who got placed in core companies are in a respectable position.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is good. The classrooms are enabled with Wi-Fi and a projector. The laboratories have adequate equipment for the students to conduct their own project. The hostel rooms depend on the price that students pay. The non AC hostel rooms are comfortable, but on the other hand, NRI hostels are nothing less than a hotel. The food provided in the mess is not good, but it depends on the hostel you choose.
Faculty: The faculty members are a mixture of some amazing and average faculty members. The faculty members are really supportive and encourage students to come up with ideas for projects and also guide them to implement those ideas. In the chemical department, the student to teacher ratio is healthy, thus creating a good connection between students and teachers.

Hello,
Fee structure will be around INR 5-3 lakhs per annum. This is the general fees but if your rank is not good then it will be around INR4-5 lakhs per annum including hostel.

Chemical engineering is Specialized Branch. Mechanical is saturated not. Electrical is also having demand nowadays.Don't worry about salary package. if you perform well, Sky is the limit.
