SRMJEEE 2024: SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University) will conduct SRMJEEE 2024. SRMJEEE is a national-level online remote proctored admission test to BTech programmes offered by SRMIST campuses. SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE) is held in multiple phases. Last year, 3 phases were held. If this year the same trend is followed then SRMJEEE 2024 will be held in the months of April, May and June. The application process and schedule are expected to release in November 2023.

What is SRMJEEE?

SRMJEE is a national-level engineering entrance exam for admission to BTech courses offered at SRMIST campuses. This entrance exam is held based on the 10+2 syllabus and has MCQ-type questions asked from Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology, Aptitude and English. The entrance exam is remotely proctored, which means the candidates can take the exam from the comfort of their homes.

SRMJEEE acts as a common entrance examination for all SRM Group institutes and universities located at Chennai (Kattankulathur, Vadapalani, Ramapuram, Tiruchirappalli); Delhi NCR Campus at Ghaziabad (UP), SRM University - Sonepat, Haryana; and SRM University, AP - Andhra Pradesh. Candidates who are selected based on SRMJEEE marks are allotted campus and course based on course preference selected at the time of counselling. The seats are allotted only based on SRMJEEE – All India Rank and availability of seats.

Q:   Will I be able to give SRMJEEE 2024 exam in Hindi language?

A:

No. SRMJEEE is held in english language only. The questions are based on the syllabus in Class 11th & Class 12th. All the questions are of Multiple-Choice type and have four options as possible answers. Candidates can choose the most appropriate answer for each question. 1 mark is awarded for each correct answer and no negative marking for the wrong answer. The total duration of SRMJEEE is 2 hours 30 mins. The exam will be held as a remote proctored online exam.

Q:   What is a good score in SRMJEEE?

A:

A score of 110 and above is considered to be a good score in SRMJEEE. However, aspirants muts keep in mind that the good score in SRMJEEE depends on various factors like difficulty level of the exam, number of candidates taking the exam, number of seats and so on.

Q:   Is SRMJEEE mandatory for admission in SRMIST?

A:

Yes. SRMJEEE is mandatory for admission in SRMIST. However, to encourage and support students of exemplary talent, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University) offers direct admission and scholarships to first rank students of all the central and state boards in India, top 10,000 rankers in IIT JEE, top rankers in each district of Tamil Nadu and exemplary sports persons at National and International level.

SRMJEEE 2024 Eligibility

Candidates can check below the eligibility for SRMJEEE 2024:

Nationality: Resident Indian or Non-Resident Indian (NRI), holder of PIO or OCI card issued by the Government of India are eligible to apply for SRMJEEE.

  • Note: NRIs, holders of PIO or OCI card issued by the Government of India who has not taken the SRMJEEE (UG) must apply under the International student category only.

Age: Should have attained the age of 16 years and 6 months on the 31st July of the calendar year in which the 12th Board examination is to be held.

Qualifying Examination For all BTech Courses:

    • Minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry /Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Engineering Graphics.
    • Passed in Higher secondary examination (10+2 pattern ) or appearing in Higher Secondary examination in the current academic year with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of the subjects, Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Engineering Graphics as major subjects in regular stream from any state board within India, CBSE, ISCE, Matriculation, or NIOS.

Note 1: For BTech Biotechnology, Biotechnology w/s in Genetic Engineering, Biotechnology w/s in Regenerative Medicine, and Biomedical Engineering, a minimum 60% aggregate in PCM/PMB/PCB is needed. For all other courses, Chemistry will be taken for eligibility.

Note 2: If Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices are considered for eligibility, then the candidate will be eligible only for BTech Computer Science and specializations in Computer Science.

Note 3: Students who have completed +2 under NIOS must have completed the 10th standard from regular schooling or vice-versa.

SRMJEEE 2024 Application Form

SRMIST releases the SRMJEEE application form online on the official website. Candidates can apply using the steps below:

  1. Register Yourself
  2. Verify the email id
  3. Fill out the online application form
  4. Upload the required documents
  5. Pay the application fee

The candidates have to upload the following scanned images:

  • Photograph Image: Size should be 200 X 230 pixels, 5 MB
  • Signature Image: Size should be 140 X 60 pixels, 5 MB

After the successful submission of the application form, an application number will be generated. Save that number for future reference and communications. Course/Campus preference selected at the time of application is only for statistical purposes, the actual course preference can be selected at the time of counselling based on SRMJEEE – All India Rank and availability of seats.

Q:   I want to change my email ID in the SRMJEEE application form. How can I do it?

A:

Email ID submitted at the time of SRMJEEE registration will be used for all correspondences until enrolment is completed. Change in Email ID will NOT be permitted under any circumstances. Other details can be changed later on. You can change the details, except for email id and phone number by calling or through e-mail. The application process includes SRMJEEE registration and filling out the application form, uploading documents and paying the application fee.

Q:   Is the SRMJEEE application form available offline?

A:
No. The application form is available online on the official website only. The online application is for admission to B.Tech programmes offered in SRM IST Chennai (Kattankulathur, Vadapalani, Ramapuram, Tiruchirappalli and Delhi - NCR Campus - Ghaziabad (UP), SRM University - Sonepat, Haryana and SRM University, Andhra Pradesh - Andhra Pradesh. The exam Fee is Rs.1200/ - for each phase and it is Non-Refundable. There would be 3 different phases of SRMJEEE conducted. If the candidate wishes to take the SRMJEEE exam more than once, he/she can fill the required application form with respect to each phase.

Q:   While filling SRMJEEE application form, I have filled some wrong choices for preferred campus. Can I change it later?

A:

Yes, you can change it later by calling or through e-mail. Also, during counselling, they will ask you your preference of course and campus even if you hadn't entered it. The application process includes SRMJEEE registration and filling out the application form, uploading documents and paying the application fee.

Q:   What will be the number of questions in the SRMJEEE question paper?

A:

The total number of question in SRMJEEE will be 125. There will be 125 MCQs in the exam in total. Question will be asked from maths/biology, Physics Chemistry aptitude and English . To facilitate students and familiarize them with the online exam, SRMIST conducts SRMJEEE Mock Tests. SRMJEEE is held as an online proctored test. Therefore candidates are advised to practice the mock tests. Q:   What is the time duration of SRMJEEE?

A:

The total duration of the SRMJEEE exam is 2.5 hours. Mode of test- Online Duration- Two hours and thirty minutes Language- English Total number of questions- 125 Questions type Objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with four options from which only one option is correct. Subjects asked- Physics, Maths Chemistry English and Aptitude. For Biotechnology- Candidates have to appear for Biology instead of Mathematics. Marking scheme- One mark will be provided for every correct answer. There is no negative marking.

SRMJEEE 2024 Mock Test

SRM University releases the SRMJEEE mock test for each phase of the exam. The mock test window opens a few days before the actual exam day. Using the SRMJEEE mock test candidates can practice for the remote proctored exam. To ensure that the candidates get familiar with the setup for taking online exams at home and to get comfortable with the exam interface, mock exams are facilitated before each phase. To avoid last-minute disturbances/ clarifications, it is suggested to the candidates take the mock exams as scheduled and be prepared for the final examination.

Q:   What is the difference between SRMJEEE online proctored test and CBT mode of exam?

A:

SRMJEEE used to be held as a computer based test. However, after the pandemic, SRMJEEE is being held as an online proctored test. The difference between the 2 is that CBT exams are not internet based tests. The candidates are needed to visit an exam centre and access the test on a computer which has exam questions already fed on it. In SRMJEEE online proctored test, candidates have to take the exam with the help of internet connection from the comfort of their homes on their own devices. The exam question will appear in real time on the screen an d the candidates have o answer those questions. The candidates will be monitored using AI and cameras throughout the test.

Q:   What is SRMJEEE online proctored test?

A:

SRMJEEE is held in online proctored mode. This means candidates can take the exams from their homes and they do not have to visit any exam center for taking the exam. Proctored exams are timed exams that you take while proctoring software monitors your computer's desktop, webcam video and audio. In Proctored Online Exam, you will be under constant observation during the entire duration of the test via artificial intelligence tools and live monitoring by the proctors. Any suspected activity will lead to the immediate termination of exam. The AI tools will be able to detect any movement of face or eyeballs and highlight the same automatically. Thus, the candidate will be under constant vigilance of proctor through live feed to deter any suspicious activity of the candidate.

Q:   What is the benefit of solving the SRMJEEE question papers?

A:

Computer - Pentium IV/Dual Core, 1GB RAM or higher 2. 80 GB HDD or higher 3. 15 inch colour Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse 4. Microsoft Windows 10 and Antivirus 5. Webcam and microphone 6. Internet connection of at least 1 MBPS 7. A private room without external disturbance/noise 8. Place the computer on a table, such that your back is facing the wall and there are no devices placed in the background 10. The room where you sit should be quiet, with no background noise and only you should be present in the room, for the entire duration of the test. 11. Keep your computer table, clear of any object, paper, books and any other electronic material like Mobile phones, tablets, laptops etc. 12. Ensure proper lighting (no backlight) so that your face is clearly visible on the webcam. 13. Ensure that you are dressed formally 14. You are advised to tie your hairs in case you are having long hairs.

SRMJEEE 2024 Slot Booking

Candidates are allowed to book their preferred exam date and time for the remote proctored test. Candidates can access the Admission Portal button under their respective logins, to book the slots of their convenience, subject to the availability of slots on a particular date. After booking of SRMJEEE slot, candidates can download the hall ticket that generates after the completion of the slot booking process.

Q:   What is the password asked in SRMJEEE slot booking?

A:

To proceed with the SRMJEEE slot booking, it's best to visit the official website of SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) or contact their admission department directly for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the password requirements for slot booking. They will be able to provide you with the necessary instructions and any specific password criteria that you need to fulfill for successful slot booking.

Q:   Can I book more than one slot during the SRMJEEE slot booking?

A:

No. Candidates will not be allowed to book more than one slot during the SRMJEEE slot booking process. While selecting their examination slots, the candidates will only be allowed to select one examination date and timing as per their preference and availability. After the slots are selected and submitted, requests for change of slots will not be accepted by the authorities. Candidates should also note that the SRMJEEE slot booking process is a one-time facility and therefore they will not be allowed to log in again and choose their slots.

Q:   I was not able to complete my SRMJEEE slot booking. What should I do?

A:

All registered candidates are required to complete the SRMJEEE slot booking before the final date. Through the slot booking facility, the candidates will be able to select the exam date and timing as per their preference. If the candidates are unable to complete their slot booking before the final date, then they will be automatically allotted slots by the authorities as per the availability. Once the slots are allotted, the candidates will not be able to request for change of slots. The candidates will have to accordingly adjust and attempt the examination on the allotted slot.

SRMJEEE 2024 Admit Card

After booking of SRMJEEE slot, candidates can download the SRMJEEE hall ticket that generates after the completion of the slot booking process. On the day of the exam, candidates must be ready with the SRMJEEE hall ticket and valid photo ID proof. Candidates must upload a snapshot of the ID proof when needed during logging into the remote proctored exam.

Q:   Can I change the details on my SRMJEEE admit card?

A:
It is generally not possible to change the details on an SRMJEEE admit card once it has been issued. The admit card contains important information such as your name, application number, photograph, exam center details, and other necessary information. These details are usually verified and cannot be altered or modified after the admit card has been generated. If you have made an error or need to update any information on your SRMJEEE admit card, it is recommended to immediately contact the admission authorities or the official helpline of SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST). They will be able to guide you on the appropriate steps to take in such a situation. They may provide you with instructions or assist you in resolving any discrepancies or issues related to your admit card. Q:   Will the SRMJEEE admit card available offline too?

A:

No, the SRMJEEE admit card will be available online only. No admit card will be sent to the candidates via post or any offline mode. Once the admit card is issued it will be the responsibility of the candidates to download the admit card. Candidates can check the steps below to download the SRMJEEE admit card: Visit the official website of SRMJEEE/SRMIST; Login with your login ID and chosen password; After the SRMJEEE slot booking exercise, candidates will get an option (on the screen) to download the exam admit card; Check all the details carefully on the admit card; Download SRMJEEE hall ticket and preserve it for all future purposes; In case of any discrepancies in your SRM hall ticket, contact the officials immediately.

Q:   Where will the SRMJEE be conducted?

A:

SRMJEEE is held as an online proctored test. Candidates will not have to visit any exam center for the exam. The remote proctored exam can be taken from the respective homes of the candidates. Candidates can attempt their exam either through Windows Laptop/Desktop or through Android Phone/Tablet.

SRMJEEE 2024 Remote Proctored Exam Guidelines

Candidates can check some important guidelines to be followed in the SRMJEEE remorse proctored test:

System requirements:

  • Laptop with functional camera and microphone. 
  • Intel i3 (4TH Gen) equivalent CPU or above.
  • 4gb RAM or above.
  • Internet Speed – Minimum 1 MBPS
  • 2 Gb free hard disk space
  • Windows 8 or above Mac 10.14 Mojave and above

Do’s and Don’ts:

Candidates must follow some instructions for the remote proctored exam:

  • Do not move from your seats, during the exam. You cannot take bio breaks during the duration of the exam.
  • You should sit facing the screen throughout the exam and should not look sideways or down.
  • You are not allowed to keep mobile phones, digital watches, or any other electronic devices with you during the exam.
  • You are not permitted to wear sunglasses/headphones.
  • You should take the exam, seated in a room where there is sufficient light. You must ensure you are the only person in the room during the exam and there is no disturbance. Do not entertain any other person in the room.
  • Do not contact/talk to anyone or take assistance from anyone during the exam.
  • Do not keep any text or bits of paper or any material/notes/rough paper with you during the exam.
  • Do not access any other site/screen on your laptop/Personal computer during the exam.
  • Do not try to log in from multiple devices.
  • Do not google or search from any other source.
  • Do not lip-sync or read the questions aloud.
  • Do not cover your face with hair/mask/clothing or anything else.
  • Do not have any background noise/voices/music//TV.
  • You are not allowed to have food/beverage during the exam except for water.

SRMJEEE 2024 Admission Process

Below is the selection process for admission through SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Exam:

SRMJEEE 2024 Admission Process

  • Step 1: Register for SRMJEEE 2024: To begin with, aspirants need to register for the SRMJEEE exam if they are eligible.
  • Step 2: SRMJEEE 2024 Slot booking: Applicants have to do the slot booking to appear in the entrance exam. Admit cards can be downloaded after booking the slot.
  • Step 3: Download SRMJEEE 2024 Admit Card: SRMJEEE admit cards can be downloaded from the official website. To download the same, aspirants will need their application number and date of birth.
  • Step 4: Appear for the SRMJEEE entrance exam 2024: SRMJEEE is conducted in online mode. Aspirants are advised to follow all the instructions for the remote proctored test.
  • Step 5: Check SRMJEEE 2024 exam result: SRMJEEE result will be declared on the official website. The result will have a candidate's AIR based on which seats will be allotted to the candidates in the counselling process.
  • Step 6: Appear for SRMJEEE 2024 Counselling: Aspirants who clear the exam need to appear for SRMJEEE counselling. The counselling is held online.

SRMJEEE 2024 Result

The SRMJEEE result can be checked from the official website of the institution by entering the application number and password. SRMJEEE result 2024 will comprise details such as marks secured by the candidate, qualifying status and procedure for participating in the counselling process. Students who qualify for the exam will be eligible for admission to the institute, subject to meeting other eligibility criteria.

Q:   What is the validity period of the SRMJEEE result?

A:

The SRMJEEE result will be valid till the current academic year only. No candidate will be granted admission in the next year based on SRMJEEE current year scores. Separate entrance exam will be held next year for admission in the next session. SRMJEEE passed candidates will be allotted seats via SRMJEEE counselling. SRMJEEE counselling is the process of allocating seats and branches to candidates as per their ranks. The seats are allotted to the applicants based on their performance in the exam.

Q:   Is there any provision for verification of the SRMJEEE result?

A:

No. There is no provision of verification of SRMJEEE result. Once the result has been announced candidates cannot apply for or request for verification of the marks. Once the SRMJEEE scorecard has been released, candidates have to accept the scores ad ranks as final. SRMJEEE Rank List will be announced online after the announcement of the SRMJEE results . Only those candidates who have their names in the Rank list will only be called for SRMJEEE counselling. SRM result consists of their marks/score in the exam along with other important information regarding the candidates who appeared in the entrance exam.

Q:   What is the next step after SRMJEEE result is announced?

A:

After the declaration of SRMJEEE results, qualified candidates will be required to participate in the SRMJEEE counselling process for admissions to BTech programmes offered by different campuses of SRMIST. Shortlisted candidates will receive call letters, following which they would have to register online for the SRMJEEE counselling process.

SRMJEEE 2024 Counselling

The institute conducts online counselling for admission of the SRMJEEE 2024 qualified candidates. Candidates are offered seats on the basis of their ranks in the entrance exam, the preferred choice of branch & campus and the availability of seats.

The SRMJEEE e-counselling process includes the following steps:

  1. Login to Application Portal & Click on Admission Portal
  2. Choice Filling
  3. Seat allocation
  4. Allocation Acceptance (only for allocated candidates)
  5. Proceed with the Payment of Counselling Fees (only for allocated candidates)
  6. Download the PAL (only for allocated candidates) 
  7. Payment of Balance Tuition Fee & online enrolment*(only for allocated candidates)

Q:   How many counselling rounds will be held for SRMJEEE?

A:

There are 3 counselling rounds One for ah phase of SRMJEEE exam. SRMJEEE qualified aspirants will be required to complete all the steps such as document verification, seat acceptance etc. After the conclusion of the counselling process, SRM Institute will release the SRMJEEE cutoff. The candidates who qualify for SRMJEEE must appear for the counselling rounds with their documents for verification. SRMIST is conducting the counselling online. For online counselling, candidates are informed the details through email or text messages. To participate in SRMJEEE counselling in online mode (SRM counselling), candidates have to register and pay the required fee.

Q:   What is SRMJEEE Provisional Allotment Letter?

A:

Upon payment of the SRMJEEE registration fee and counselling fee, a Provisional allotment letter and fee receipt will be issued. Failure to pay the counselling fee within the stipulated time will lead to the cancellation of the allotment. The admission committee will allot the choice of campus, programme and specialisation based on the admission criteria such as SRM Joint Entrance Examination Rank, Qualifying Examination, etc. The Programmed allotment will be published in the Online Admission Portal (OAP).

Q:   How are the programmes allotted to the candidates via the SRMJEEE counselling?

A:

The SRMJEEE admission committee will allot the choice of campus, programme and specialisation based on the admission criteria such as SRM Joint Entrance Examination Rank, Qualifying Examination, etc. The Programmed allotment will be published in the Online Admission Portal (OAP). Online Admission Portal (OAP) will be kept open for the candidates to fill the choice of campus and programme preference. Candidates have to accept the allotment and have to pay the one time non-refundable and non-transferrable registration fee and the counselling fee (part of tuition fee).

Q:   Can the SRMJEEE counselling fees be paid in cash?

A:

No, candidates must pay all fees online or by DD. No cash payment is allowed for the counselling process. The candidates who qualify for SRMJEEE must appear for the counselling rounds with their documents for verification. SRMIST is conducting the counselling online. For online counselling, candidates are informed the details through email or text messages. To participate in SRMJEEE counselling in online mode (SRM counselling), candidates have to register and pay the required fee.

Q:   Is it mandatory to visit any of the SRM University campuses for SRMJEEE counselling?

A:

No it is not mandatory to visit SRM University campuses for SRMJEEE counselling. The counselling process is online and the process is given below:

  • Login to the portal: The candidate has to login to the application portal through the link applications.srmist.edu.in/btech
  • Rank card download: Candidates can download the rank card through the mentioned online admission portal (OAP).
  • Educational detail filling: Candidates have to fill in the educational details.
  • Choice filling (programme Selection): Online Admission Portal (OAP) will be kept open for the candidates to fill the choice of campus and programme preference.
  • Programme allocation: The admission committee will allot the choice of campus, programme and specialisation based on the admission criteria such as SRM Joint Entrance Examination Rank, Qualifying Examination, etc. The Programmed allotment will be published in the Online Admission Portal (OAP).
  • Accept the Allocation and Payment (Only for allotted Candidates): Candidates have to accept the allotment and have to pay the one time non-refundable and non-transferrable registration fee and the counselling fee (part of tuition fee). Online payment details will be updated shortly. Provisional Allotment letter download: Upon payment of the registration fee and counselling fee, a Provisional allotment letter and fee receipt will be issued. Failure to pay the counselling fee within the stipulated time will lead to the cancellation of the allotment.
  • Payment of balance tuition fee and online enrolment: Pay the balance tuition fee before the mentioned date and proceed with online enrolment.
