NUSRL Highlights 2025

NUSRL Ranchi was established by Act No. 4 of Jharkhand State Assembly in 2010. The University has been recognized by UGC in September 2011 u/s 22 of the UGC Act of 1956. NUSRL has been included as member of the CLAT w.e.f. CLAT 2012. At the UG level NUSRL offers five-year Integrated BA-LLB Hons, LLM and PhD, a doctoral programme.

Yes, the 2026 session year has commenced at NUSRL Ranchi with the release of CLAT 2026 notification. The application forms are released in Jul. Aspirants must submit their applications on or before the prescribed deadline. The entrance examination will be held soon.

NUSRL review - good facilities and worth th money .

Placements: I'm in 2nd year. So I have less knowledge about placements but the batch which passed out this year. Many of our seniors good placed. Stone of them got placement package of even 18 Lacs. The average is around 10-11 Lacs of package. Moreover, there are hope that it will increase in upcoming years.

Infrastructure: Talking about class, smart boards, Wi-Fi, spacious classrooms, air conditioned, mics for teachers. All such things are available. In hostel, you get Wi-Fi, medical facility, gym, regular water and electricity supply, clean washrooms, spacious bathrooms. Mess food is also bearable.

Faculty: The faculty members here are qualified and expert in their fields except some. They are really helpful. If you'll reach out to them, they will surely help you, guide you. Course circullum is relevant and good. If you follow teachers and study regularly, play attention in class, you will be able to do well in exams.

Other: Many extra curricular activities are available as there are many centres.

Experience at NUSRL, Ranchi.

Placements: Placements are not that good. Although the cell is developing now, one can expect better placements in the future. But now the average goes around 6 lacs from the cell. Many students secure POPs with packages ranging from 15 to 16 lacs. The placements through the cell would land you in a decent firm.

Infrastructure: Hostels are good. You get a gym in both girls and boys hostels. There are also badminton courts. Wi-Fi is available. There is also a study room inside the hostels. Rooms are also good. In the first year, you get a double room, and from the second year on, you get a single room. Mess food is not that good but you have to bear with it. The dispensary is there and a doctor comes daily for 2 hours. Ambulance availability is also there. A canteen is present inside the campus, along with a stuck shop.

Faculty: Faculty members are good. They have a good grip on their subjects. You can clear your doubts at any time, either in class or in their chambers. They will explain things to you clearly if you approach them. The course curriculum is good, including research papers and moot courts, which give you real-life litigation experiences. There are two midterms and two endterms in a year. If you wish to pass the papers in a single go, you have to study; the checking is quite strict.

It is an excellent institution with good education and facilities.

Placements: Around 40% of total students were placed in various reputed law firms. The highest salary package offered is 18 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 10 LPA. Top recruiting firms are Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Company, Khaitan and Sons, and Singh and Associates. Almost 80% of students get internships in many companies. B.A. LLB, LLM, and Ph.D. are the top degrees offered.

Infrastructure: Being a national university of law, it provides us with excellent facilities with other institutions barely had. Hostel facilities are very nice with separate rooms for each student. There are around 600 rooms in a hostel with strict rules and regulations with the warden and caretaker in the hostel.

Faculty: Faculty members in our college are very good. They not only help us with good understanding but also with one on one conversations with each student who has doubts. They are highly qualified teachers with strong command over their subjects and students. The course curriculum is being provided to us in starting of the session so that we can have a good idea. Exams are not hard as teachers are very good with students and good understanding. About 98% of students passed with good marks.

It is one of the best college experiences students could get.

Placements: Placements are very good. Top corporate or litigation firms around the country give job offers to NUSRL students, whoever opted for campus placements gets placed. Students are placed in firms like SAM, CAM, NDA Singh and Associates, Luthra and Luthra. The highest salary pacakge offered ranges from 17 LPA - 18 LPA. The average salary pacakge offered varies between 8 LPA - 10 LPA. The roles offered are corporate associates, litigators, and academicians.

Infrastructure: It is one of the largest campuses among NLUs i.e 67 acres. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Academic block Wi-Fi is enabled. It has an air-conditioner in every lecture theatre and conference room. There are two libraries with almost every needed book, bare acts, reputed journals. Online databases are also offered to every student with remote access. There are various centers and committees in the acad block itself. The quality of food is average in the mess. However, there is a separate canteen, a Nescafe Kiosk, and a Food Truck. Separate boys' and girls' hostels are there. Double sharing for first years, the second year onwards students get separate individual rooms. Each room has a balcony. Water coolers on every wing and washrooms have a water heater equipped. There are 4 badminton courts, one volleyball court, two basketball courts, and two lawn tennis courts. There is a huge ground for cricket and football. Indoor games like table tennis and carrom are present in the hostel itself. Both the hostels for boys and girls have their gyms. There is a place for the in-house medical practitioner. The college also has partnerships and connections with local hospitals.

Faculty: Most of the professors are good, and have a good grip on their subjects. The course curriculum keeps getting updated every year. There is an extensive marking and testing scheme in place. The moot culture of this university is strong. Students are representing this university at international and national levels moots.

It is a good college, which gives many opportunities, and placements are also provided.

Placements: Campus placements are provided, and it depends on the students who go sit off-campus. It depends on the student on which company they want to go. The internships are taken by the student's college, and don't support very much. It does not offer to a good place, and students go there by own.

Infrastructure: It provides a good mess which is clean, hostel with 4 floors, 2 wings a and b with maintenance. Hostel warden and caretakers help the student to get all the necessary things. Food and Wi-Fi are good, and classrooms are also good. Medical facilities are available in this college.

Faculty: Teachers are good and well qualified. They help in any things. The pass percentage is 50%, and marks don't get easy to get it. There are 50 mid-semester and 50 end semesters, and in mid-semester with project submission and viva.

Other: In this college, events and fests are not held.

Placements: In the year 2020, the placement rate was around 70%. The highest salary package offered was 10 LPA, and the average salary package offered was 5 LPA. Top recruiters of our course are Khaitan & Co, Trilegal, Amarchand Mangaldas, etc. As it is a top law university of Jharkhand, law firms prefer to select students from this university. All students of our batch do internships in NGOs, under advocates and judges, firms and companies. Top roles offered to us are legal researcher, analyst, content writer, etc.

Infrastructure: Facilities provided here can compete with top-notch universities in India. Our university is India's hugest law university with 63 acres of land. The entire campus is equipped with Wi-Fi. Classrooms are well equipped with the latest technology. The library is the most important place of the university, which has international periodicals and books related to law.

Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified here. Maximum teaching staff members hold PhD degrees. They are always available in the university to help students. The course curriculum designed by the university is as per the needs of the market. Courses are reviewed per year by the course coordinator and the chief course coordinator.

Other: I chose this course to pursue my dream to be a top corporate lawyer in India. Ranchi city is well connected through railways, airways and roadways to major cities of India. E-Kalyan scholarship is provided by Jharkhand government to ST/SC/BC students of the states. There are also many private scholarships in our university, which are provided on the basis of merit and need.

Q: Can I join NLU Ranchi BA LLB (H) programme without CLAT?

No, you cannot take admission to the BA LLB (Hons) course of NUSRL Ranchi without a Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) score. Admission to law programmes at the National Law Universities is based on this exam score only. The exam is conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). Thus, the course aspirants must take the entrance test to secure a seat in the integrated programme.
