RRB Group D 2022: The Ministry of Railways has decided to give Course Completed Act Apprentice (CCAA) one-third weightage of marks obtained in the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) exam for preparation of RRB Group D final merit list. CCAA are also exempted from Physical Efficiency Test (PET) since they are already trained in the railway establishments and meet the physical standard required for performing their jobs. The empanellment of candidates to the post of Railway Group D will be done only after document verification and qualifying the medical standards.
Earlier, Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs)/Railway Recruitment Cell (RRCs) had announced some major changes in the RRB Group D recruitment process. The changes were announced in exam stage, EWS certificate, normalisation of marks, document verification and empaneling of candidates, post preferences, post parameters (Qualification, Medical Standard and Suitability of the post for PwBD etc.).
RRB Group D Level 1 2022 exam date has been announced for 1,03,769 vacancies of Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant in various technical departments (Electrical, Mechanical and S&T departments), Pointsman and other Level-I posts. The CBT will be conducted from July onwards. The exact dates will soon be announced by the RRBs.

RRB Group D is a national-level exam conducted by the RRBs on behalf of the Railway Recruitment Cells (RRC). RRB Group D exam is an excellent career opportunity after Class 10 who wish to join the Indian Railways. RRB Group D Selection Process Revised
The revised selection process of RRB Group D is given below:
- Railways will give one-third weightage to the NCVT marks in preparation of RRB Group D final merit list after the conduct of CBT. There will be no PET for such candidates
- There will be only single stage Computer Based Test (CBT) exam for RRB Group D
- EWS certificate issued after the date of notification will also be considered valid on the date of document verification
- In CBT, the examination will be conducted in multiple sessions (shifts). For these multisession papers, the percentile score based normalization method will be used. Though railway administration reserves the right to modify the formula/adopt different formula based on technical considerations
- Based on the performance of candidates in CBT subject to their qualifying in PET, the number of candidates to be called for Document Verification (DV) shall henceforth be equal to the number of notified vacancies (i.e. in the ratio of 1:1)
- In case of shortfall in empanelment of candidates or other exigencies, RRB/RRC reserves the right to utilize the candidates down the merit list if required, as per the merit and option of the candidates
- The designation of Assistant Pointsman has been changed to Pointsman
- Railways have made modifications in the post parameters announced in the detailed RRB Group D notification. Post Parameters for various posts have been kept as per Medical Standards as prescribed in Indian Railway Medical Manual (IRMM)
RRB Group D 2022 Exam Date OUT
RRB Group D 2022 exam dates for the computer-based test have been announced by the Railway Recruitment Boards. There will be no CBT 2 exam in RRB Group D and selection for the further rounds will be done based on a single stage exam. The single-stage CBT exam will be conducted from July 2022. As there will be no CBT 2 exam, percentile based normalization will be used for shortlisting candidates for further stages.
RRBs will activate the link to check exam cities, exam dates and download free travel authority (For SC/ST candidates) 10 days before the scheduled CBT. The admit card for the exam will be issued four days before the scheduled CBT.
RRB Group D 2022 CBT 1 exam was put on hold due to the protests by students against the introduction of CBT 2 exam. Earlier, the CBT 1 exam was scheduled to be conducted from February 23, 2022 in multiple phases.
RRB Group D 2022 Eligibility Criteria Revised
RRBs had revised RRB Group D eligibility criteria for aspirants who wish to apply for the exam in future. The minimum education qualification for candidates applying to the technical departments that is Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical and Signal & Telecom departments) and catering wing of Railways will be Class 10 pass plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by National Council for Vocational Training or Class 10 pass plus ITI. The revised eligibility criteria is not applicable for candidates who had applied for the ongoing Railway Group D exam. Nationality
A candidate must be either:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

The age limit prescribed for Level 1 posts is 18 to 33 years. Relaxation in age limit is provided as per government rule:

What is RRB Group D Qualification?
Candidates who had passed Class 10 (High School) from an institution recognized by NCVT/SCVT or held National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) provided by NCVT are eligible to apply for RRB Group D recruitment exam.

RRB Group D 2022 Important Dates
RRBs have announced RRB Group D 2022 (RRC 01/2019) exam date. Earlier, the exam was scheduled to be held from April to June 2021, but, due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, the CBT dates were postponed. RRB Group D recruitment notification was released in 2019, however, the exam will be taking place in 2022. Initially, the exam was scheduled to be conducted in September-October 2019. However, due to the non-finalisation of the exam conducting agency, the exam could not be conducted. Candidates can check below the dates related to RRC Group D Level 1 exam 2022.

RRB Group D 2022 New Changes
Some of new changes announced in RRB Group D 2022 recruitment process are given below:
- Ministry of Railways has decided to include issues of Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAAs) trained in Railways
- The Ministry of Railways has decided that CCAAs trained in the railway establishments will be given due weightage for the training done by them in Railways Establishments in preparation of the final merit list after the conduct of CBT for RRB Group D.
- CCAAs will be exempted from Physical Efficiency Test
- RRC wise CBT will be held for Level-1. Also maximum available capacity is recommended to be used, to significantly reduce the number of shifts involved for each RRC and to speed up the examination process
- It has been decided to follow revised methodology with special conditions for conduct of CBT for Level-1 as there is no CBT 2 exam
- The methodology will involve mobilising additional infrastructure and logistics to conduct CBT for Level-1 with significant increase in per shift requirement
- Efforts will be made to have the exam conducting agency (ECA) on board to conduct the CBT for Level-1 as early as possible
RRB Group D Admit Card 2022
RRB Group D admit card 2022 for the first stage CBT will be released four days before the exam. To download the admit card from the respective regional websites of RRBs, candidates need to login with user ID and password. RRB Group D admit card is an important document without which candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam. Railway Group D posts admit card is released for CBT and PET. The admit card for PET is issued to those candidates who have successfully cleared CBT of RRC Group D Level-1 2022.
RRB Group D Exam Day Guidelines
The exam day guidelines for RRB Group D exam are given below:
- In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, candidates need to wear masks all the time inside the exam centre. They need to maintain a safe distance from one another
- Candidates are also allowed to carry hand-sanitiser inside the exam centre
- Candidates need to carry their RRB Group D admit card along with photo-identity proof to the examination centre
- Impersonation is prohibited, and strict action will be taken if anyone is found doing so
- Candidates need to reach the exam centre on time
- Candidates reaching the exam centre late will not be allowed to appear in the exam
- No electronic devices are allowed inside the examination centre
- Copying, cheating, or any other kind of malpractices are prohibited
RRB Group D Level I Online Application
RRB Group D application form was available from March 12 to April 12, 2019. The application fee was INR 500 (for all candidates expected the fee concession categories). The fee for PwBD / Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class was INR 250. Candidates could pay the fee both online and offline.
Steps to Apply for RRB Group D Vacancies
Visit the official website-http://www.rrbcdg.gov.in/
- Click on the ‘New Registration’ link
- Register for the exam by entering details such as name, date of birth and father’s name, mother’s name, Aadhaar Number, SSLC/Matric registration number, year of passing, mobile number, email ID and then submit the registration form
- Upon registration, registration number and password are generated
- In Part I of the application page, provide the details of educational qualification, community, gender, religion, Ex-Servicemen, CCAA, Minority, Economically Backward Class and Age Relaxation and other details
- In Part II of the application page, enter priority/preference of the RRB Group D posts
- Pay the application fees using Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI and Offline Challan
- Choose the exam languages-Hindi, English, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu
- Fill details of photo ID card
- Enter bank details for fee refund
- Upload scanned images of photograph, signature and category certificate for SC/ST candidates
- Agree to the terms and conditions and submit the application form
