Events such as IRE Talks and AI Feast are designed to provide shy students with a safe and experiential platform on which they can gradually step out of their comfort zone on a new campus. Students are encouraged to communicate with the public through interactive sessions with their peers, live discussions with industry professionals, student anchors, and panel interactions, and to ask questions and communicate their ideas without being concerned about being judged. A supportive academic environment where students are surrounded by their peers also reduces the students' hesitancy to communicate and builds confidence as the student participates in these events repeatedly.

Over the years, involvement in these events will change a student from a passive listener to an active contributor and/or leader. By being responsible for such things as hosting workshops, coordinating teams, presenting ideas, and interacting with experts, students develop their interpersonal communication skills, decision-making skills, and self-confidence. The modern campus environment allows students to experience this transition by providing them with professional environments that resemble corporate settings, allowing shy students to envision themselves being not only learners but also future leaders.

The IRE Conference, startup competitions, and networking evenings at GIBS are a critical way for students to connect with the industries they want to work in and gain an understanding of the world of work. Students have the opportunity to meet entrepreneurs, corporate professionals, venture capitalists, and other experts in their selected fields. This gives students valuable insights into how to run a business, validate their ideas, and understand what is expected of them by employers. Students gain valuable experience through participation in panels, pitches, and mentoring sessions, all of which provide the students with insight into how to run their businesses. Networking evenings provide students with the opportunity to build professional relationships that lead to internships, job placements, and career advice, thus providing students with an opportunity to transition from an academic learning environment to one that focuses on practical experience.

At GIBS, students interact with peers from around the world while participating in a wide range of cultural, management, and athletics activities throughout the course of the academic year. On campus, a variety of annual cultural festivals take place, such as Talent Shows, Festival Celebrations, Open Mic Nights, and Theme Days. These provide an opportunity for students to express themselves creatively.

On the management side, there are annual business conclaves, management fests, case study competitions, quizzes and workshops led by industry experts; alumni interactions; and start-up pitch sessions and industrial visits that enhance practical learning.

For athletics and wellness, GIBS offers numerous opportunities for students to connect with their peers, including participating in the annual Sports Meet, inter-batch tournaments, outdoor activities (e.g., trekking), and indoor/outdoor games (e.g., table tennis, basketball, badminton, football, etc.). Students can also participate in Fitness Challenges, Yoga classes, and various other Recreational Activities.

Taken together, these events create opportunity for Holistic Development by building Leadership Skills, Teamwork, Confidence and a Strong Sense of Community Throughout the Academic Year.
