NEET MDS Counselling 2023: MCC will release NEET MDS 2023 round-3 revised schedule soon. Round-3 registration and choice filling will reopen for seat allotment. On September 21, Ministry of Health decided to reduce cut off for NEET MDS 2023 by 31.807 percentile for each category. Earlier round-3 seat allotment result was to be declared on September 16 but it was delayed. The seat allotment result is declared based on choice declared by candidates and other factors. Candidates need to carry original certificates for document verification for reporting.

Candidates have to register on the official website and declare choice for college and course to participate in the counselling. Only those who qualify the exam with the minimum cut off are qualified to participate in the counselling. MCC will conduct NEET MDS 2023 counselling for 50% All India Quota seats. NEET MDS 2023 result was declared on March 10. Along with NEET MDS 2023 result, cut off was also released. Candidates have to score the minimum cut off to qualify for the exam. The qualifying cut off was 50 percentile for general category candidates. NEET MDS 2023 exam was held on March 1 at different centres across country. According to students, the overall difficulty of question paper was moderate. Questions were lengthy and clinical based, students said. 

As per the original schedule, NEET MDS 2023 application form was released on January 9 and the last date to submit applications for NEET MDS 2023 was January 30.  As part of registration, basic information had to be provided such as name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID etc. Apart from registration, NEET MDS application process involves filling details in the application form, uploading documents, paying exam fee etc.

What is NEET MDS?

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Masters of Dental Surgery abbreviated as NEET MDS is an entrance exam conducted by NBE for providing admissions to all the postgraduate dental courses offered by the institutions in India. NEET MDS exam is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination conducted annually in online mode. Except for NEET MDS, no other exams, either at the state or institution level are valid for admission in PG dental courses. The scores are accepted by most dental colleges across the country. A total of 6,501 Masters of Dental Surgery (MDS) seats are offered under 50% All India Quota (AIQ), 50% state quota seats, and 100% seats in deemed/central universities and private colleges through the exam.

Q:   When will NBE conduct NEET MDS 2023 exam?

A:

NEET MDS 2023 exam was held on March 1 in computer-based mode. The exam was conducted in 76 test cities across the country. The exam timing was 9 am to 12 pm. According to NEET MDS 2023 pattern, the question paper had 240 multiple choice questions and candidates were given 3 hours to answer them. NBE the exam conducting body declared NEET MDS 2023 result on March 10.

Q:   How many attempts are permitted for NEET MS?

A:
There is no capping on the number of attempts for NEET MS. Candidates can take the examination any number of times. Candidates are advised to check all the eligibility criteria set by National Board of Examinations NBE before applying online for the exam. One of the eligibility criteria is applicants must not be younger than 20 years of age. They must have completed 12 months of compulsory rotatory internship on or before June 30, 2023.

Q:   I didn't qualify for NEET MDS 2023. Will I be eligible for NEET MDS 2023 counselling?

A:

No, candidates have to qualify NEET MDS 2023 to become eligible for NEET MDS 2023 counselling.  It is also to be noted candidates have to qualify NEET MDS exam with the minimum cut off which vary for each category. The minimum cut off percentile for general category candidates is 50 while for SC/ST, the cut off is 40th. Elligible candidates have to register on the official website, mcc.nic.in to participate in the counselling for NEET MDS 2023. Registration is followed by choice declaration. Candidates can declare as many choices as they want to in order of their prefrences.

NEET MDS 2023 Counselling

MCC conducts the NEET MDS counselling for 50% All India Quota seats, deemed/central university seats, ESIC and AFMC seats. To participate in the NEET MDS 2023 counselling, eligible candidates will have to register themselves on the official website of MCC. They will have to fill the choice of colleges and courses as well. Three rounds of counselling is conducted including the mop-up round for admission into Masters of Dental Surgery courses. Based on the marks and ranks of the applicants, choice filled, seat availability, and other criteria, MCC released the seat allotment list for NEET MDS counselling 2023. Selected candidates will have to report to the allotted institute for confirmation of admission.

Q:   When will MCC conduct NEET MDS 2023 counselling?

A:

Registration for round-3 NEET MDS 2023 counselling started on September 8. Last date for round-3 registration was September 12. Round-3 final result for NEET MDS counselling 2023 was to be declared on September 16 but it was delayed. Those who qualify NEET MDS with the minimum cut off are eligible to participate in the counselling. Candidates have to register on the official website of MCC, mcc. Nic. In and declare choice for college and course for counselling. It must be noted that whole counselling process is held online. MCC declares separate result for each round in PDF format.

Q:   Who will conduct counselling for NEET MDS 2023?

A:

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will be conducting NEET MDS 2023 counselling. It must be noted, NBE only conduct exam and declares result. MCC conducts counselling for allotment of 50% All India Quota seats. For rest 50% seats respective state authorities conduct the counselling. Candidates have to register on the official website of MCC and declare choice for college and course for NEET MDS 2023 counselling. Only NEET MDS qualified candidates are eligible to participate in the counselling for seat allotment.

Q:   How many rounds of NEET MDS 2023 counselling will be held for seat allotment?

A:

A total of 4 rounds of counselling will be held for seat allotment. It must be noted that whole process of counselling is held online. Eligible candidates have to register online to participate in the seat allotment process. Registration can be done in every round except last one where seats are allotted based on the choices declared in previous round. Apart from registration, NEET MDS 2023 counselling comprises steps such as choice declaration, seat processing, allotment result and document verification.

NEET MDS 2023 Result

NEET MDS 2023 result has been declared for those candidates who appeared for the entrance examination. The NEET MDS results 2023 contains important details including roll number of candidates, the score obtained out of 960, and NEET MDS overall rank. NEET MDS 2023 cut off has also been released along with the result.  Those who qualify for the exam will be able to download the scorecard. The scorecard can be downloaded by entering roll number, date of birth, and captcha code.

Q:   When will NBE declare result for NEET MDS 2023?

A:

NBE had declared result for NEET MDS 2023 on March 10. The result was uploaded on the official website. Candidates could download the scorecard from the official website with application ID and password. NEET MDS result PDF comprised details such as roll number, application ID, marks scored and rank. Candidates had to score the minimum cut off to qualify for the exam. Those who qualified the exam will be participating in the online counselling for seat allotment.

Q:   How can I download NEET MDS 2023 scorecard?

A:

NEET MDS 2023 scorecard can be downloaded online. It must be noted candidates who scored the minimum cut off can download the scorecard. Candidates have to enter login ID and password to download the scorecard which comprises details such as roll number, application ID, marks scored All India Rank etc. The scorecard for NEET MDS 2023 was released on March 14. NBE had declared NEET MdS 2023 result on March 10. Scorecard must be preserved as candidates will need it at various stages of admission process.

Q:   Is it compulsory to download the scorecard of NEET MDS 2023 for counseling?

A:

Yes, candidates are required to enter the details printed on the scorecard of NEET MDS 2023 in the application form. They are thus advised to download the NEET MDS scorecard well in advance. The scorecard is downloaded from the official website with login ID and password. NBE had released NEET MDS 2023 scorecard on March 20.

Q:   Will NBE reduce the cut off for NEET MS 2023?

A:
There is a possibility. The cut off is reduced if seats remain vacant for allotment. Last year also cut off was reduced for each category after students demanded so as many of seats were vacant. The cut off was reduced for each category. For general category, cut off was reduced from 263 to 174. Candidates have to score the minimum cut off to qualify for the exam. The cut off was released along with NEET MS 2023 result on March 10.

NEET MDS 2023 Pattern

As per NEET MDS 2023 pattern, the exam was conducted in online mode. The test paper comprised 240 objective questions and candidates had three hours to attempt them. As per the marking scheme, candidates will get 4 marks for every correct answer and there will be a deduction of 1 mark for a wrong response. 

NEET MDS 2023 Admit Card

The applications undergo scrutiny after they have been successfully submitted. NBE issues NEET MDS 2023 admit card to those whose applications will be accepted. The admit card contains important information like the name of the candidate, date of birth, exam date and timing, name and address of the exam centres and exam-day guidelines. The admit card for NEET MDS exam must be carried to the exam centre in the physical form. It is released online and candidates have to download it through login credentials. 

NEET MDS 2023: Exam Day Guidelines

NEET MDS 2023 was conducted in an online mode. Each candidate was allocated a separate computer on the day of the examination. A few guidelines for NEET MDS 2023 exam day were:

  • Visit the exam centre of NEET MDS 2023 one day before the examination to get an idea of the location#
  • Candidates must wear a mask that covers their mouth and nose at all times
  • They will be allowed to wear hand gloves inside the exam centre
  • They must follow the safety protocols defined by the NBE at all times 
  • Candidates will be allowed to carry a water bottle and hand sanitiser with them
  • Three things that you must carry to the examination hall: NEET MDS admit card, valid photo Id proof and a passport-sized photograph
  • Report to the NEET MDS 2023 exam centre at least 2 hours prior to the examination
  • Do not carry bags, books, pen, papers, notes, etc. to the examination centre
  • Electronics such as calculator, mobile phone, smartwatch, pagers, Bluetooth, etc. are prohibited inside the examination hall
  • Do not carry food to the examination hall

NEET MDS 2023 Syllabus

NEET MDS syllabus is considered as one of the basic tools to scale up the preparation for the exam. NEET MDS question paper is divided into two parts, A & B. Part A comprises 100 marks while part B has140 marks questions. All the subjects given in NEET MDS syllabus should be prepared well to qualify for the exam. NEET MDS 2023 Cut off

NEET MDS 2023 cut off scores has been revised by NBE. Originally, the cut off score was released along with the result.  The cut off for NEET MDS is the minimum percentile to be scored by a candidate to qualify for the exam. On the basis of the cut off marks, a merit list is prepared that mentions the name of candidates who will be participating in the counselling rounds. NEET MDS 2023 Application Form Process

The admission process for NEET MDS 2023 was started with registration. Aspirants of the PG entrance test had to register themselves on the official website of NBE. After completion of the registration process, candidates could fill the NEET MDS 2023 application form. NEET MDS 2023 application process involves following processes.

  • Register on the official portal to generate User ID and Password
  • Fill the application form
  • Upload photograph and signature
  • Pay the requisite amount of fees
  • Take a printout of the filled application form with the transaction ID printed on it

Those who submitted the applications for NEET MDS 2023 within the given deadline were allowed to avail the correction facility to modify details.

NEET MDS 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to apply for NEET MDS 2023 are advised to read and understand the criteria set by NBE. It is also important that a candidate meets the requirements set by NBE for the exam. If at any point in time NBE finds out that the candidates do not meet the eligibility requirements for NEET MDS 2023, his/her candidature will be cancelled. The eligibility criteria for NEET MDS 2023, as per MDS Course Regulations 2017 notified by the Dental Council of India with prior approval of MoHFW is as follows :

  • Applicants must not be younger than 20 years of age

  • They must possess a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from a University/Institute recognised by the DCI

  • They must be registered with the Dental Council of India (DCI) or State Dental Council (SDC) (permanent/provisional)

  • They must have completed 12 months of compulsory rotatory internship on or before June 30, 2023
