The GRE (pronounced "gee-are-ee") was created by the Carnegie Foundation in 1936-37 and handed over to ETS in 1948. How to Send GRE Score Report?

In your GRE registration fee, you can send your score to four colleges or scholarship programs. For the computer test, select recipients at the test centre. For the paper test, choose during registration or on your ticket. You can order additional score reports later for $40 per recipient. There are two options to send your GRE Scores to the universities:

  • ScoreSelect: It gives you the option to send the test scores you choose to the four universities you have selected. On test day, after viewing your GRE scores at the test centre, you can choose to send or not to send your scores at this time.
  • Additional Score Reports (ASRs): If you wish to send your GRE scores to more than 4 institutions or you decide to send scores after test day, you can order Additional Score Reports (ASRs) for a fee of USD 40.

The ideal score depends on the university you are targeting for admission. You have to get 320 or above out of 340,  for getting easy admission in to the top universities worldwide. Keep in mind that score equal to or above 75 percentile is considered good enough to apply for admission.

Q:   How to Send GRE Scores to Universities?
A: 

In the case of the computer-delivered GRE General Test, the candidates are asked to designate four score recipients at the test centre. They can select not to send their score reports at that time and send them at later date by paying an additional fee.  

In the case of a paper-delivered test, the candidates are asked to designate four score recipients at the time of registration. Candidates can choose not to report the scores at that time and send the latter by paying the additional fee.

Q:   What is a 90% GRE score?
A: 

A GRE score in the 90th percentile indicates that the test-taker has scored above 160 in both the Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning sections. A score above the 90th percentile is considered strong and significantly enhances the chances of admission to reputed universities.

Q:   how many years is gre score valid
A: 

The validity of the GRE score is 5 years from the date of the test.  Students can use this score for the next 5 years to get admission to graduate and business schools. For example,  if you took the GRE exam on September 17, 2020, your scores would be valid through September 17, 2025 but not on September 18, 2025.

Q:   How to Check GRE Score Online?
A: 

The GRE scores for General and Subject tests can be checked online. Generally, ETS declares the scores of the GRE General Test after 10 -15 days of the test. The official scores can be viewed in the ETS Account created by the aspirants at the time of registration.

Also, the result of the GRE Subject test is declared almost after five weeks after the test date. Candidates are informed through email, so they can check their ETS account and send the official score reports to the score recipients.
