It is a top government college in Uttar Pradesh with decent placements.
Placements: Harcourt Butler Technical University, in the B.Tech course of Paint Technology, contains 63 students of class strength, and from which, 90% of students got placements in various paint and coating companies. The lowest package offered is 3.5 LPA. The average package offered is 6 LPA. The highest package offered is 9.6 LPA. The Top recruiting companies are Asian Paints, Berger Paints, Nerolac Paints, and other small-size companies that are connected to the paint and coating industries. Almost all students got internship opportunities. The top roles offered are executive, manufacturing, and Sales.
Infrastructure: At Harcourt Butler Technical University, the infrastructure is too old. However, a new department building is under construction. In the hostel, the infrastructure is too old but good. Wi-Fi facility is available but it is not working properly.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful, but the rest are not. The quality of teaching of some teachers is good and the rest are not at teaching, so we can prepare that subject on our own. The course curriculum is old, and it does not make students 100% industry-ready. Semester exams are a little bit difficult, which is due to the big syllabus.
Other: Harcourt Butler Technical University is a more than 100-year-old college that has a lot of alumni in various fields at the current time. However, in this college, a lot of students opt for higher studies and achieve big things in their lives. College life is decent. This college has two campuses, the east campus (where all academics happens and has a hostel for first-year students for boys and all-year hostels For girls). The west campus has only a hostel of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year students. In this college, 75% of attendance is mandatory in each subject.

Life of the Harcoutians.
Placements: As you know, HBTU is always known for its excellent placement percentage with a good average CTC. In previous years, the placements of HBTU were always more than 90%, but in 2024 it decreased to 86% (not a problem because sometimes it happens due to more interest of students in higher studies). The chemical engineering and paint technology branches are always appreciated for 100% placement with an average package of 8-10 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is decent. Classroom conditions are good, with well-settled seats, but some labs have to be upgraded. Wi-Fi is not available in classes but it is available in hostels. The library contains approximately all the books which are needed for students, and the timing is 10 AM to 7 PM. I can't say much about hostels because I am a day scholar.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and highly knowledgeable. They are very helpful but only if you are serious about your studies. Some teachers are also ready to help you on call at night. All other faculty members are also very active in their duties. The course curriculum is relevant for the industry. That's why there is a very good relation between industry and their respective branches in our college. Semester exams are not tough; you can easily score 7+ CGPA by studying one week before exams. Overall, 40 marks are required out of 100 to pass.
Other: B.Tech in Paint Technology is a well-known and highly reputed course of our college. It is always known for its excellent academics and 100% placement. Many events happen from time to time in our college, like festival celebrations, auditions for different clubs, etc. Campus surroundings are good. Students want to meet new people. Scholarships: The UP Samaj Kalyan Nidhi scholarship is given to the students who are eligible for this. The amount is different for different categories, like for General - 55-60k, OBC - 75-80k, and SC/ST - 100-110k. Other than this, many private scholarships are also available for students.

Overall, the college is average.
Placements: The placement of the college is approximately 84%. The highest package in Paint Technology is 12 LPA, the lowest is 4 LPA, and the average is approximately 8 LPA. There is approximately 100% internship placement. Top companies include Asian Paints, Berger Paints, Maruti Suzuki, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the hostel is not so good; it's overall below average. The Wi-Fi does not run regularly, and the classrooms are overall average. The hostel facilities are not too good, and the Wi-Fi range and speed are approximately 5 to 6 Mbps. Games like volleyball are available.
Faculty: Some teachers are good, but some are not knowledgeable about their subject. The curriculum is relevant, and the semester exams are not very difficult. The passing percentage is about 5 CGPA. Some teachers are very helpful; they assist with studies and are very supportive.
Other: The best course in the technology branch is Paint Technology.

One of the best colleges you have to learn many different types of courses in engineering.
Placements: I am passing out in 2022 in the Paint Technology Branch. Almost every year, 95% placement is done. The average package is about 6.5 LPA; also, the highest package is about 12 LPA, which was given by Asian Paint. In 3rd year, everyone goes for an internship.
Infrastructure: Good infrastructure now also new auditorium built in 2021 for convocation. Every year, sports and cultural fests are also held. Hostel, mess and library are also available.
Hostels are a little bit far from college, approx. 3 km for boys of 2nd, 3rd and final year.
Faculty: Faculty are very supportive and experienced; they always gives many new things to learn. We have done a number of tests in the lab for paint preparation.
Faculty are assigned project in final year related to paint that helps from an industry point of view
Semester exams are of intermediate level; approx. 90% students are passed.
Other: There are 2 reasons why I am choosing this course. The first is that I have an interest in how cars and bikes are painted and how there parts are painted.
Every year, cultural fest and sports fest are held. Scholarship facility are also available.

Good placements and college life at HBTU
Placements: In my paint technology branch the placement is 100% continued from 2023 this year the average package and highest package of my branch is 8 LP and 14 LPA respectively. Top recruiters of my branch are Asian paints, Nerolac, Maruti Suzuki etc. internship in my branch is majorly done in Asianpaints, Berger, Nerolac.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of our classrooms and labs are well equipped contains all necessary things like wifi, AC etc. The infrastructure and quality of mess food in my hostel is average all medical facilities and first aid are available in my hostel. Also all types of sports are available in my hostel we can issue any sports from warden office easily.
Faculty: The teachers and professors are well educated and experienced some of them are from famous IITs and famous colleges. They all teach very well and perfect in their respective subjects. The curriculum of our course is very relevant and it will makes the students ready for industry. Till now only one mid semester happened in my college the overall difficultly level of exam was moderate.
Other: The best thing about this course is placements and opportunities and best part is that this course is very less in numbers in colleges in India. Currently I am in my first year so till now I don't find any score of improvement in this course. Many events and fests are happens in this college like freshers party named 'PARICHAY'. Cultural fest named ADHYAY. Sports fest named AAGAZ. Technical fest named TECHNICA etc. There is no scholarship provided from college side to any of the categories we have to apply separately for scholarship like U.P. Scholarship. Campus area of both college and hostel is very green lush and beautiful.

The college is known for its alumni culture and placements.
Placements: In core branch placement, the average package for CS IT, ET, EE, ME, and CH is 8 LPA. In non-core branch placement, the package varies depending on the students' knowledge and ability to develop their skills. Like paint technology and plastic technology, you need to develop skills.
Infrastructure: As we all know, HBTU was founded in 1920, so according to that time, infrastructure was suitable, but as the current college is taking steps and making new departments and modern labs for research and innovation, and HBTU will complete it's 100th year in 2021, the college will construct the Satabdi Bhawan and lecture hall complex.
Faculty: The faculty is good. They are from IITs, Nits, and other good colleges. As we talk about curriculum, all the courses are relevant because they make students ready for industrial training purposes and provide knowledge according to that.
If you start learning 15 days before the exam, that will be beneficial for you.
Other: I chose this course due to 100% placement in that branch. On the college campus, all students are placed with a decent package, like an average package of 8 LPA and the highest package of 12 LPA for the branch.
Events are all part of college life so that it's a pretty good time to spend it with friends and help out our seniors organize all the events .

Placements: 95% of the batch 2020–2024 is placed. The highest package is 12 LPA (Asian Paints).
The lowest package is 4.5 LPA (Kansai Nerolac Paints).
The average package is 7.9 LPA.
The top recruiters are Asian Paints, Varroc Group, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Hero MotoCorp, Indigo Paints, Berger Paints, Yamaha Motors, and Kansai Nerolac Paints.
100% of the students got internship in companies like PPG Asian Paints, Mankiewicz, MSIL, Berger Paints, etc. Top roles offered are Graduate Engineer Trainee, etc.
Infrastructure: Excellent infrastructure is available: AC, labs and library, Smart Classes, huge campus, etc. But there is no Wi-Fi.
The hostel is average. Average food is available in mess.
3 canteens are available, the taste is good and price is reasonable. Poor medical facilities are available.
Sports facilities are average.
Almost all games are played in HBTU .
Faculty: Only 1–2 teachers are qualified enough to easily explain the topics to students.
30-year-old syllabus is followed and everyone is gaining that knowledge. Semester exams are moderately difficult.
The pass percentage for our batch is around 90% and you need 40% marks in any exam to pass.
Other: The only reason for choosing this course was HBTU's alumni network and placement record. No event has taken place since last year.

My HBTU college review for B.Tech Paint Technology students.
Placements: About 90–95% of the batch gets placed. This year, the highest Package-12 LPA (Asian Paints). The lowest package is 4.5 LPA (Kansai Nerolac Paint). The average package is 7.9 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp, Asian Paints, Indigo Paints, and Varroc Group. 100% of the batch got internship in different companies like Mankiewicz, Tata Motors, etc. Many roles, like graduate engineer trainee, are offered by companies.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is good it's huge 85-acre campus in East Campus and 225 acres in West Campus, lots of greenery, fully air-conditioned library, laboratories, spacious classrooms, guest house, 2 auditoriums, football and cricket ground, temple, canteens and other facilities. Excellent Campus Placements and internship opportunities.
Faculty: Faculty is well qualified, has relevant experience in the subjects they teach, and also possesses practical knowledge required in industry. Exams take place every semester; a semester is a 6-month period, so I gave around 8–9 exams (theory and practical) every semester for a total of 4 years, that is, 8 semesters, or 51 exams (theory +practical) in total.
Other: The cultural fest at HBTU is named Adhyay, and it takes place in the month of April every year. The sports fest is named Aagaz, and it takes place just before Adhyay. This year, no festival was organized thanks to HBTU. The library is fully air-conditioned and equipped with thousands of books and many journals. The only drawback is that it closes at 5 pm. Classrooms are spacious and equipped with smart boards. Sports and extracurricular activities are not so great at HBTU; being one of the top government colleges, there is no swimming pool. Most of the clubs are run by students themselves, like the Dramatics Club. I was a day scholar, so I can't comment on hostels or PGs.
