About TUS
The Technological University of the Shannon, or TUS, is a young university and recognized as one of the well-known public universities established in 2021 after the merger of the Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) and the Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT). The university is located in Ireland and recognized for its academic excellence, research and innovations.

TUS History
The TUS was born after the consolidation of two major technology institutes of Ireland, the Althone Institute of Technology and the Limerick Institute of Technology in 2021. In Limerick, the TUS has two main campuses, Moylish Campus and Clare Street Campus. The other campus of Limerick city is Coonagh.
The Limerick Institute of Technology or LIT was founded in 1852. With time it has spread across Ireland and set up the Limerick School of Arts & Design.
The Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT), currently known as Athlone campus of TUS was established in 1970. It is known for its unique courses, including the only dedicated course in Ireland, a Microbiology Degree and many other courses in the field related to sports and more.
