Want to know the cost of living in Germany? The answer is simple – you would need around €861 (or INR 72,610 approx.) per month, or so says the Federal Foreign Office. As of January 1, 2022, keeping the rate of inflation in mind, the mandatory amount required in the Blocked Account for studying in Germany is €10,332 for an entire year or €861 for a month. This would include your accommodation, living expenses, and even travel pass costs. While applying for a German visa, a student is required to show proof of funds for at least the first year of education which includes the cost of living in Germany. Essentially, the general expenses in Germany and their average monthly cost include It is important to note that this figure does not include the two mandatory expenses which you would be required to do, which would be Health Insurance as well as Semester Contribution to the Universities.
