How to Register for GMAT Exam 2026?

Registering for GMAT Exam 2026 is done online. GMAT registration usually takes 30-45 minutes if applicants fill out the application form in one sitting. In case applicants cannot complete it in one go, they can save it and return at their convenience. Here is everything about GMAT India registration 2026.

Step by Step GMAT Registration Process 2026

To register for the GMAT exam, candidates must create their account on official website - mba.com. The 2026 application form for GMAT is available for both modes on the official website. Check out the steps for GMAT 2026 registrations below.

Step 1: Create an Account

Applicants will have to sign up first on mba.com and create an account. Without this, the applicants will not be able to access GMAT application form 2026 for filling and submission. Follow these steps to register:

  • Go to official website mba.com.

  • Click Register and create an account.

  • Use a personal and permanent email address. Do not use a college/work email that might expire.

Step 2: Select Exam Mode

GMAT is conducted in two modes, so when applicants will register for GMAT, they will have to choose one option. Based on the chosen mode of GMAT testing, the application form will be accessible for filing:

  1. GMAT at Test Centre: Selecting this option means taking the exam at a test centre at the chosen location (Pearson VUE centre).

  2. GMAT Online: Take the GMAT Online exam from home or anywhere based on their convenience.

Step 3: Build Profile

GMAC requires applicants to fill in their personal, academic and professional details before actually going on to the GMAT registration. Information should be authentic and true at all costs. In order to build their profile, applicants will have to:

  • Enter their Name, Date of Birth, and Citizenship.

    • Warning: Your name must match the applicant's Passport exactly.

  • Fill in details like Work experience, GPA, Target degree, etc. It helps universities find applicants via GMASS.

Step 4: Schedule GMAT Exam

Next step is selecting GMAT exam centre. For applicants choosing to take GMAT at test centre can look at available exam centres and choose one. They can be searched by city, like Mumbai or Bangalore, to see open exam slots.

Once GMAT exam centre is chosen choose the date and book a slot. GMAT slots can be booked up to 6 months in advance.

Step 5Verify Profile

Once applicants submit all their details, the profile will be verified. In case the profile remains unverified, GMAC will send a notification to update it so that applicants can complete their registration for GMAT. This process is for new test takers and not for those who already have their profiles verified on mba.com.

Step 7: Pay GMAT Exam Fee

The GMAT fee varies for test centre testing and online testing. Payment for GMAT is available through credit cards. Checkout is in USD. Here is what the GMAT Exam Fees for Indian test-takers (2026 estimates):

  • Test Centre: $275 + 18% GST.

  • Online Exam: $300 + 18% GST.

These GMAT registration steps are for the traditional GMAT exam conducted at the test centre. GMAT Online has a different registration process but without selection of GMAT test centre.

Commonly asked questions
Q:   Do I need to renew my approval for the GMAT testing accommodations for every GMAT exam attempt?
A:

Those who have already booked the GMAT exam and have got the approval for GMAT testing accommodations need not apply for it again for their subsequent GMAT exams as the approval for accommodations is typically valid for two years. In case if your GMAT testing accommodation approval has expired, you need to visit the Testing Accommodation pages and apply for the accommodations. You must complete the form and mention that you had received an approval earlier. It is advised that the students attach their original decision letter as a part of their fresh request.

Q:   If I have booked a slot at the GMAT test center, can I transfer the registration to the online version?
A:

If a candidate has booked a slot at the test center it cannot be rescheduled to a different mode for that attempt. Candidates need to book the GMAT online exam again to attempt the test online. When it comes to GMAT slot booking, we advise that candidates show caution. Before you decide your GMAT exam date, make sure to go through the different study abroad intakes, MBA or MIM admission deadlines, your current GMAT preparation level, time required to reach your desired GMAT score, time required to prepare your admission documents (SOP, LORs, Admission Essays, etc.), etc.
